I loved this movie. I think the wooden object is a golem. Theyre traditionally made of clay, but its mouth was open, it was there to protect their family, and she had to put stuff inside of it to make it come to live and do what she wanted. Idk thats just my thought. Any other theorys on what it is?
Definitely a golem, only problem I had with it was that when it did finally move it did just look like a guy in a suit, I wish it has moved more stiff and violently
@@alexico909 I agree, the suit the actor wore at the end made the golem look thinner and just like a person. When it was a prop sitting at the table it looked very otherworldly and thick/strong and menacing. The arms and body just looked skinny and a bit silly on the actor
4:39 I’m guessing you’re referring to (spoiler)… The trapdoor scene? Ted leaves the house and less than five minutes later the phone rings and they show a flashback of Ted opening the trapdoor as a trap for Darcy. Like you said it was obvious he did that and they didn’t need a flashback to 5 mins ago. Still, overall I liked the deliberate pace of this movie and it was effective if not super satisfying at the end. Good review!
SPOILERS I think it was too easy to find out who killed his wife because the husbanda character felt off from the get go. Also i think the golem could have moved witu more stiffness and abit more violently, because when it did come to life it really did just look like a bloke in a suit
I thought it was enjoyable. Would have loved to see more of the house. I had expected the blind sisters other heightened senses to help her more to avoid danger.
Remember when she said she had to pay for killing glass eye guy? I think she knew the hole was there, and that's why she got up and ran into it. She jumped into the hole.
This was exceptional. The property was under remodel. I think you are missing the point or rather the iteration of horror that you know is coming yet you are still on the edge of your seat. Better than Longlegs which was well done and I really enjoyed it. Oddity kept me on edge at a constant from beginning to end.
towards the end, when there is the big "reveal", I was disappointed in myself for not seeing that coming from a mile away lol nevertheless, it was still a great horror film.
Longlegs has set a very high bar for horror this year. I watched Maxxxine the day after it and was underwhelmed. I just wonder if I had watched the movies in reverse order, would I have enjoyed Maxxxine more. Really want to see Oddity now that a couple reviewers have seen it. Cannot wait to see Heretic later this year.
I saw them in reverse order, still thought MaXXXine was a little underwhelming like you said. Still good, but not as strong as the first two in the series.
@@EddieRuane: same here !!! Totally agreee w/ you !! 😱 I couldn’t believe Yana’s ‘balls’ - wow ! (the husband’s new GF..!)! 😮🙈🙉🙊 & the amazingly creepy music!! the settings & all! Oh my !! 😮 the lighting ..!! ✨⭐️🌙💫 💡 🌃🌌 ☠️ 🧟♂️ …..
Just saw this, once again I got 'got' my the over hype of TH-camrs. This is definitely a wait and watch at home. A good b movie but definitely not something I would pay for to see in the theater.
Saw it today and one of the rare films to give me a scare
I really like your reviews. Dude you're way good at this. The info you give is perfect.
I appreciate that, thank you!!

I was assuming it was clay as well

I was covering or squinting my eyes watching many scenes.

Fine job. Can't wait to see this. Thanks.
4:15 How did you miss it? She has the rabbit from Caveat.
I need the horror renaissance to keep going through Halloween. 😙😙🙃🙃🙃
The directors previous film Caveat is amazing. That freaky rabbit, puppet spirit finder is creepy!
Saw CAVEAT. Didn't quite make a lot of sense to me. I do hope this one is better. Damian McCarthy has an interesting style.
I thought it was enjoyable. Would have loved to see more of the house. I had expected the blind sisters other heightened senses to help her more to avoid danger.
Same I thought she caught onto the bs there

Good review but.....I rarely watch a movie twice in one year and Oddity is one of them. The blind sister's performance is memorable.
Its ok. I think these movies are shooting for new things but just missed a lot of good opportunities to enhance moments 10 fold. Its ok.
Saw Oddity and loved it!
The premise of Oddity seems... Odd. 😋
Anyway... My fav horror movie this year so far is Abigail followed by Longlegs.
towards the end, when there is the big "reveal", I was disappointed in myself for not seeing that coming from a mile away lol nevertheless, it was still a great horror film.
Agreed. I’m usually spot on with identifying these things
Saw this! Love it! More layers than I expected! Awesome movie! Smile 2...??? 😏😶😁
Great review.
Thanks for this video. I'll wait for it to come out on DVD.
I just wish it wasn't so predictable. Had so much going for it.
Yea, it felt rush closer to the end.
It reminds me of The Fear (1995).
Hey @Movies And Munchies where did you watch it?
Got my hopes up for the comming Alien movie, Fede has done some decent horror stuff, so crossing my fingers..
Oddity is a great film
Love your channel, you’ve put so much work into it and it comes across so professional.
Definitely going to check this out in the theater tonight.
I hadn't heard of this film, but now I am looking forward to seeing it. 🥟
I just watched it. I liked it. Kind of satisfying.

Heretic amd cuckoo look good

Longlegs was very meh
Was underwhelmed with both those films last week, absolutely loved Oddity I’m seeing it again tonight

You have the perfect announcer voice Are you a professional?
I loved Caveat so I'm excited for Oddity
Saw it last night, loved it, creepy as hell
I thought it was very well done
BTW, thought Longlegs was also lame.
I saw it in the theater and loved it. I think it is better than this reviewer thinks it is!
Nope, still can't do hoooorrrrroooorrrrrr! 😱
😱
couldnt live without horror :)
Same! My kids think I am crazy 😂. Love the silliness of it
Folks this is a great great film, 5 couches
Just watched this on my phone. It was interesting but very predictable.
Cool
This movie got a 💯 rotten tomato 🍅🍅🍅🍅

Movie was ...ok...
poooooo!!
Borrowed elements from other movies and is not scary, creepy or anything else. Lame.
