      instead of soap shavings you can also use candle wax! make sure it is unscented regular wax as the scent oils wear down your pivot cup. (applies to soap as well!)

      you should not reuse the nuts that screws onto the wheels (or trucks) if you keep removing the nuts for bearing maintenance because the threads become loose. it's best to just put on new nuts so that the chances of the wheels coming off while riding is avoided.
      i replace my nuts after 4 removals. you can buy these nuts cheaply here: www.tactics.com/independent/genuine-parts-axle-nuts-set-of-4

      @@karmabasedj8184 the grip tape can be cleaned by using "sanding belt cleaner" available at Harbor Freight stores. here's the link to how it looks like: www.harborfreight.com/sanding-belt-cleaner-30766.html
      as for humidity, only storing your skateboard inside your house and not getting it wet while riding is the best defense against humidity.

    Putting soap in your pivot cup is just a quick short term fix. Silicone grease is the way to go on pivots as well as bushings. It not only lubricates but will extend their life. Silicone grease will also help to prevent rust on axles, nuts, and washers.

    Hey bro, love the videos, so I bought a atlas pro 4wd gear drive, I've put 250km on it for over 2 months, long story short the metal strip that holds the bearings in place has shattered into a million piece. I now want to put the big "cog" drive chain off to clean it (not sure if that's the correct name for it?) But I can't work out how to unscrew it. Exway won't reply
    Please make a video explaining how to fully service the gear drive, they say to put extra Grease after 2000km but should be able to clean out the old stuff first, makes more sense yes ?

      I’m not sure. I know different batteries have different optimal levels for long term storage, normally around 50% but could be higher or lower. I would do what the manual says or ask a user group for that brand.

  • @sakucae
    @sakucae 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do not overcharge and overdischarge
    The best discharge range for Li-ion batteries is 45% to 75%. ±10% is ok
    If you are not in a hurry you can choose a lower current for charging
    (Adjustable DC power supply)
    The above operation can greatly extend the life of the lithium battery

      Jared B If you won’t use for more than a week, leave the board around halfway charged. This applies to most boards. If the board’s manual says to leave it fully charged then do that instead, but that’s not common.

  • @DarkBloodyFoxy
    @DarkBloodyFoxy 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    My most hated and time consuming part of maintenance is bearings. You need to remove them, remove dust cap, wash them twice in special bottle with solvents (better to use gas mask with organic vapors filter)… But this saves a lot of money since you don’t need to spend money for new set and we all know that cheap bearings are really awful.
