My wife and I have been to Portugal twice, and are going again on Ama in September. Enjoyed this show! We spent a week in the Algarve, and a week in Evora and Lisbon. Will be our first trip north of Lisbon. Fantastic people…most speak some, if not fluent English. (A requirement in schools currently!) Great food, fantastic scenery, a geography and history lesson around every curve.
We're planning an adventure for Fall 2026. Been Viking guests on German river-based cruises, and thoroughly had a great time. Never been to Portugal/Spain. This video is great, but it's soooo much information, that it's challenging to keep who's who and what's what. We're open to exploring other cruise lines. Wish there was a "spreadsheet" type comparison chart to make an informative decision on this pricey vacation. Thanks again for your video.
A line they didn't mention is Emerald Waterways. We have taken two cruises with them and are doing the Douro with pre-stay in Lisbon in fall 2025.. So excited. We have enjoyed Emerald travel. We are doing the Seine next month on an Avalon then I will be more able to compare. Just a thought.....
We traveled on Amawaterways and all the excursions were included. We traveled on the Rhine river Amsterdam to lake Como. There were no up charges.

Spreadsheet is a great idea as a former travel advisor I had one but the issue was keeping it up to date.

How could you omit Uniworld???
She did mention that there are several other river cruise lines on the Douro one of which is Uniworld and they do an excellent job.
