I have a friend who struggles with mental health issues. He hates his family, and he hates his friends, including me. He cuts his veins on a weekly basis, and whenever I try to sit down and talk with him about his problems, he puts on his headphones and starts walking really fast. I've also occasionally seen him running around the city at odd hours of the night. When I asked him why, he told me that he likes being alone at those times. Unfortunately, I live in a different country, so I only see him for about three weeks a year, and I'm scared he might do something harmful. They actually acted pretty accordingly. Yes they could have done more, but you're also going off the power of hindsight and having all the facts. They had no proof of anything, just people giving subjective point of views and telling stories, which very well could have been false. I personally think they were a little callous and in this callousness they failed, since it's fairly obvious that the family and neighbor genuinely wanted help and didn't harbor ill-intent, but their hesitancy is also reasonable because people nowadays will try anything to get a dollar, even if it's at the expense of others (in this case potentially suing the cop for whatever law they can that was passed without this type of situation in mind). A good, recent example of this is the drama surrounding a mother who tried suing an anonymous sperm donor for child support (the information of who he was was improperly given to her under false pretense). Another is the entire reason we have the good samaritan law, because people will try at every chance to screw people over for monetary gain. That is what the 72h hold of the 5150 is for, to allow a police officer to hold someone until they can be assessed by a psychiatrist. To anyone who says they have no empathy for McSkillet: you are either willfully ignorant of the reality of a manic episode or just plain psychopathic and deserve to be in the same 5150 as him. I've got a couple (former i guess) friends that suffer from bipolar and its a very hard situation for everyone involved. For them, not being able to trust the people around them, at least from their perspective; but in truth what is hard is knowing who they should trust to be the reality check on your disordered thinking. Its hard for the people who love them feeling so powerless because you are in fact fighting for AND against the person who is manic to get them the help they need. Its hard for the mental health system and the state because there is a very real concern about where to draw the line between the safety of the manic person/the rest of us vs taking away a person's freedom to make choices in their own life, to imprison them against their will for "wrong thinking". I actually had to break contact with both of those friends because of how abusive they got whenever they were manic. I tried my best to be a good friend, "ride or die" is just how I am. But it became obvious I wasn't doing them any favors being a doormat for their inexcusable behavior, and as a mere friend I was not able to advocate for them in a more substantial way like a family member could. To this day I don't know if they are even still alive. During 2 years I knew them each had sincerely attempted to end their lives at least twice. I say "sincerely" because the attempts were serious to the point that it landed them in the ICU.
Not sure why you expect people to sympathize with a murderer regardless of their mental condition. Him being mentally ill doesn’t excuse anything. And he still doesn’t deserve nearly as much sympathy than the lives he took. In life you make decisions and sacrifices. Those who are severely mentally ill make the choice to seek help or to ignore it. In the end, he ultimately lost his mental battle. Nothing psychopathic about having no empathy for a murderer. Which is what he is…
0 empathy for him from my side. He made his money, that his dad was so proud of, advertising gambling sites for underage audience. Then his account got banned with thousands of dollars and dude flipped. And on top of that dude killed 2 persons in the process. God knows how many life's were ruined because of idiots like him and his friend Sparkless that were promoting underage gambling.
@@ab12345cdf First, its a medical condition, not a choice he made. If instead of bipolar mania he had suffered an aneurysm or aortic rupture and swerved into oncoming traffic would you still be so condemning? Second, what should have prevented all this from happening was the officers who refused to follow standard procedure: interview him to make sure he wasn't a danger to himself/others. You clearly don't understand what any of this means, so instead you dumb it down into a black and white morality story. It's harder to confront the complexity of the facts in this tragedy, but sadly whats right is rarely easy.
@@maeryum Please educate yourself on bipolar mania. He doesn't deserve more or less sympathy than the others who died in that crash. We have a culture that creates an illusion of mental health being a personal responsibility rather than a communal one. Its why mental health care isn't funded, its why mass shootings, addiction, homelessness and suicide are an epidemic in the United States. "He made a choice" only makes sense if you don't understand that his condition is specifically a disordering of parts of his brain involved in decision-making. You are not better than him because you "make better decisions". You are lucky. Lucky you didn't roll snake eyes on the brain lottery that we all play just by being born.
Its all good to say what people should have done after the fact, but cops locking up someone based on next to no facts and just what people say is a dangerous game. In this situation it might have helped but what happens when people just lie to get people locked up. This is just terribly sad tho 😢
I think my opinion still stands after watching this. Even though it could've been prevented if he got help, I think his tendencies were suicidal. His statement about bullets not able to hurt him & saying that he thought he was in a video game doesn't add up. I'm no psychologist but other than driving recklessly & his bullet statement what other signs did he have that could support that idea? Threatening to harm your family then proceeding to drive onto an elementary school, then into oncoming traffic doesn't seem like someone thinking they're in a game. Sane or insane, the act was murder. I only feel bad for him because the help he needed wasn't given.
Both cases sound like dissociation + something else coming from someone who has dealt with dissociation. It can feel like watching a movie through the body of someone else and if the body died the movie would just end but you would still be there, if that makes sense. I have no idea what the something else part could be.
do u know what doing something bad is and saying u did for some other reason? its doing the exact same as in an extreme situatuon just with less impact, ur just to pathetic to do it the right way
My guy is directly sponsored by Valve, that’s why he doesn’t need casino sponsors. So you open cases instead of gambling on sites. It’s the same thing. He tries so hard to portretisise himself in a good person.
You can't sue individual cops for stuff like that, and let's be real, he's the only cop in the US that actually cared about the letter of the law. @@avinashb9469 No it doesnt justify everything but its far more complex than just saying he commited suicide and decided to kill 2 people with him.
american law enforcement is a fucking joke lmao
Those police dropped the ball off a fucking cliff, holy shit
How does anything you wrote absolve him of killing a woman and her child?
Welcome to America brother the police don’t give a piss bout nothin
Your chat is so brainrotted lmfao
Its all good to say what people should have done after the fact, but cops locking up someone based on next to no facts and just what people say is a dangerous game. In this situation it might have helped but what happens when people just lie to get people locked up.
This is just terribly sad tho 😢
rip the man how made me like howl skin rip my guide
I think my opinion still stands after watching this. Even though it could've been prevented if he got help, I think his tendencies were suicidal. His statement about bullets not able to hurt him & saying that he thought he was in a video game doesn't add up. I'm no psychologist but other than driving recklessly & his bullet statement what other signs did he have that could support that idea? Threatening to harm your family then proceeding to drive onto an elementary school, then into oncoming traffic doesn't seem like someone thinking they're in a game. Sane or insane, the act was murder. I only feel bad for him because the help he needed wasn't given.
@CycloidalHeadache irrelevant? Did u watch the video at all? lol. Put your emotions to the side & reply after you watch it.
@CycloidalHeadache Bro you sound so ignorant.
Both cases sound like dissociation + something else coming from someone who has dealt with dissociation. It can feel like watching a movie through the body of someone else and if the body died the movie would just end but you would still be there, if that makes sense. I have no idea what the something else part could be.
Your opinion is based off ignorance... Go do some actual research on psychology and your opinion should change, hopefully.
You know nothing about mental health or psychology. You should really educate yourself, it is important topics.
StatTrack McLaren with 3 kills is crazy tho 💀💀💀

hello ohne!
Surprised he didn't open a case this whole video... Guess we know what he did after...
who?
My guy is directly sponsored by Valve, that’s why he doesn’t need casino sponsors. So you open cases instead of gambling on sites. It’s the same thing. He tries so hard to portretisise himself in a good person.
People in the chat saying mcjackass are wild. You guys are as bad as the cops who did nothing. Absolutely wild.

if a guy suicide's and nobody even his family dont know the reason its explains pretty much why he suicide
I’m 14 and this is deep
i hope that cop gets fully sued "i dont want to go to prison because...." all while giving an attitude like holy shit
You can't sue individual cops for stuff like that, and let's be real, he's the only cop in the US that actually cared about the letter of the law. He made a poor call, and it will haunt him, it happens, but he's likely been let down by the institutions around him that led him to believe he could not take action in this instance
