    My lock arrived today. I love it, works great and much quieter than my previous Schlage model. Only thing I would add....I found the app instructions much easier than the written ones...or I could be stupid.

    This is a very good review. The only thing missing for me Is getting to hear how loud the lock is. I wish you left the sound (& chime?) in the review.
    Otherwise, this is awesome. Thank you!

    Hi, excelent video.
    One quiestion: can I open the lock if I am in other place via Internet?
    I realized that I can open the door only via bluethoot, but If I am in a diferentes place I can not connect to the Lock via Internet.

      You will need the WiFi adaptor in order to open/close it via internet. The new version lock that I recently reviewed has WiFi built in, no adapter needed.

    Hi! If you want to unlock the door remotely and you need the bridge, does the bridge have to be with you to unlock it, or its installed and stays in the house?

    • @BrianUnboxed

      Bridge is what communicates between the lock and with your WiFi home network. So it will stays in the house.

    Brian, great video, I have the ultralock installed and when I try to lock the door with my app (which it is paired to) it comes back with the deadbolt is jammed. But when it locks and unlocks there is no problem with the deadbolt going through the lock port. I have two of these and neither are working correctly, same problem. Can you help?

    • @BrianUnboxed
      @BrianUnboxed  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      So if I understand you correctly you are unable to lock and unlock with the app only? But you can lock and unlock with the outer assembly?
      Does the deadbolt move smoothly when opening and closing or is there some resistance? You may also want to check the cable that attaches to the inside assembly. If the cable is not to the side when you are tightening it you will feel some resistance when turning the lock. It should be smooth when locking and unlocking.

    • @larryschneider8245
      @larryschneider8245 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, it seems like the lock is working in the reverse. When I use the App to lock it it comes back with bolt jamming, but the lock gets locked, then I try to unlock it it comes back with the red background stating bolt jamming. I do not understand it. I wasn't sure If I selected the correct handed locking position. I went back, and reversed the handed locking position, but it seem to get worse. Then I returned to the original, correct way. This should not be this complicated, I plan on using it for Airbnb, and I can't have my guests having problems with the lock. Your thoughts?

    • @BrianUnboxed
      @BrianUnboxed  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You may want to check the installation again. If I recall the bolt has to be out, I believe when inserting the inside assembly. Verify in the manual the position. That’s all I can think of. If that doesn’t do it I would reach out to support for further assistance. My installation was quick and had it working within 30 min, no issues at all.

    Does the bridge need to be connected to WiFi? We are having a house built in another state and need this to let contractors in. There's no wifi in the home yet. Is setting the lock codes prior to installation an option?

    • @BrianUnboxed
      @BrianUnboxed  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The optional bridge is needed to control the lock remotely, so yes it would have to be connected to wifi. But you can create profiles for different users if you have the lock, during the inital setup. You just won't remote visibilty/remote access if it is not connected to wifi.

    Hi - this is a full review, do you cover the electronic security of the product?

    • @BrianUnboxed
      @BrianUnboxed  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      As far as the security, per the info from the company. “All communications are encrypted using secure 128-bit AES via an embedded hardware coprocessor. The second layer of protection is the Dynamic Key. This key code is randomized for every single data transfer. Even if somebody were able to capture the AES encrypted data, the Dynamic Key protection would make it impossible to for them to unlock your door.”

    • @BrianUnboxed
      @BrianUnboxed  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very easy to access the key hole. So, if you look on the bottom of the assembly, there is a plastic lip. Pull from the bottom lip out first, until the bottom pops out a bit. Once the bottom comes out a bit, you can then pull back the top and you have access to the key hole. Hope that helps...

    • @scottowens8519

      Yeah once you pull up from the bottom, give the face a slight turn and then pull from the top.

    In the App:
    Does anyone know, if the lock creates "logs" Online of the people who - unsuccessfully- try to press their (unauthorised) fingerprint to try open the lock? I mean, will I ever find out,? that some person tried fruitlessly to press finger a bunch of times? Will I see this "event" in the App at all??? Does anybody know?
    At the lock area, itself:
    Does it do some beep if a person puts wrong (unauthenticated) finger several times trying to "get his fingerprint" accepted in order to get lock opened? (I mean a burglar could try that, and if that happens repeatedly, I'd appreciate some sort of beep coming out the lock, so that the burglar flees). Does anyone know, please?
    Thanks!

      @@BrianUnboxed First of all, thanks a mil for replying. It makes a big big difference to me, to know someone actually cares! :)
      OK, so I looked at the 07:07 in the video, but I can't see any "event" in the data log, that shows "attempted unlocking by *unauthorised fingerprint*". All I see are manners (key, fingerprint etc) by which unlocking was done successfully (instead of the ones done repeatedly and UNsuccessfully) . Did I miss something? Thanks in advance for your time.

    • @BrianUnboxed
      @BrianUnboxed  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is not in the specific screen shot, i was pointing out the log itself. But it will log unauthorized access. Say for example you use the finger print reader and it is not in the profile, it will log “Unauthorized User Failed To unlock.”

      @@BrianUnboxed just a very last question, if I may: the lock is black. Is there any way we could get it silver/metal coloured instead of black please? In some countries, in condo buildings there are strict rules (and nosy other owners) about what you can/can not install on doors, because those doors are in "communal elevator lobbies". So, installing something that (at least from far) seems to be "a normal lock", just makes life so much easier, because the chance of questions (from "the building") would be reduced. So basically, if a lock looks like those old fashioned kind of metal (or if it has to be plastic material, then maybe they have it in aluminium colour or something closer to "old fashioned")?
      Would very much appreciate your feedback. I'm looking at ordering a bunch, but also a bit nervous about the reactions once they re installed. In our city, Airbnb isn't allowed, and a "very off looking + black looking" lock will most likely prob trigger questions in the "Airbnb" direction, which is something we need to stay away from, because Airbnb triggers hefty penalties in this city too. (besides: managing a hole bunch of suspicious neighbours is harder than managing a company, and staying away from unnecessary questions is paramount!). FYI, We re interested in the locks only for long stay rentals only.
      1) So, if there's any way we could install them quietly(can you paint it grey), so as to avoid having to explain these "too visible" type of locks to a bunch of people, then that would really help us out.
      2) just found out most doors' thickness are 5,5cm (2,17inch) in this city. While you recommended, I think 1,75 inch thickness. Would you please have any suggestion, other than cutting out a deep round holes ou the outside of all our doors (this is for a bunch of places). We can't cut out holes in doors at the inside of the flats, because that would be an even larger "rectangular" hole, destroying the door too much. Maybe an extension bit, inside the innerworks of your lock exists? Keeping my fingers crossed. :)
      Many thanks in advance for your attention.
