Is Nikola Tesla, a man or a magician?
Tesla had such clarity of thought when he mentally modeled solutions to issues that he could see the constituent components of a machine or mechanism in three dimensions, from the creation of the particle beam through radar, the electric car, robotics, and remote-controlled drones. Run simulations in his head after that to look for damage.
In fact, he and Guglielmo Marconi invented interplanetary radio communication. In actuality, Marconi was exploiting several of Tesla's patents, with whom he later had a falling out after the US Patent Office unexpectedly revoked his patents and essentially attributed Marconi with the invention of the radio.
Because Tesla was so far ahead of his time, the brilliance of many of his early innovations, which helped to build the radio, television, fluorescent and induction lights, as well as MRIs and X-rays, was only discovered after his passing.
He envisioned universal access to free electricity. A source of limitless, clean energy that was available to all was Tesla's long-held goal. He was vehemently opposed to centralized coal-fired power plants that released carbon dioxide into the air that people breathed.
He thought that there were "fluid electrical charges" running beneath the surface of the Earth, which, when disrupted by a series of electrical discharges at regular intervals, could produce an infinite amount of low-frequency electrical waves and so serve as a source of power.
Tesla performed one of the most remarkable experiments in history: the transmission of electrical power over large distances without the use of wires or cables. This achievement has perplexed scientists ever since.
He had the lofty goal of relieving humanity of the difficulties of mining, pumping, transporting, and burning fossil fuels, which he considered to be "sinful waste."
Tesla was ultimately defeated by what he referred to as "ignorant, unimaginative people, consumed by self-interest" - strong men who fought to defend the incredibly lucrative, low-tech industries they had spent a career creating.
The fossil fuel industry of today, a holdover from that era, has fought just as tenaciously in recent years to defend the same interests - Luddites and laggards wary of losing their businesses to the wind and sun.
The greatest mistake that Tesla made was prioritizing the good of the people over the pursuit of profit.

Energy isn't free. Heat must provide gas expansion to drive the piston. Where do you get heat?
The opening picture is a sterling cycle engine driven by a heat source. This is a ancient technology. Sterling cycle engines have significantly evolved since then ... but as we know, the second law of thermodynamics (entropy) is a harsh master. I'm sure Elon is well aware of the limitations of this technology. The solar driven free piston sterling cycle engine is probably the best iteration of this technology.

Do video on water powered vehicles as was demonstrated by the inventor Stanely Meyer. The inventor Dennis Klien also ran his vehicle on gasified water. That is water separated into separate hydrogen and oxygen molecules.

Great video, but according to what I saw in other videos, NASA ran a car ( or maybe a truck ) using a Stirling engine, and it worked. There were also very quiet Swedish submarines that used a Stirling engine. In this same video, a design for a Stirling engine is shown that can be easily controlled using a valve, according to what I have watched from documentaries and videos.

I kept wondering why not use the Sterling Engine with a long (single-directional) Testla Tube filled with Liquid Mercury, whereas the expansion away from the heat will push the cooled section of Liquid Mercury surrounded in a tube of Liquid Metal upward to the Stirling Engine.

The principle engineering problem with the Stirling engine are the seals that keep the working fluid in place. Seal wear and lubrication are a problem...
