I was waiting all the way through to hear your strategy for finding the last operation without finding the whole solution. Why not include it? I'm confused :-)

Haha I guess I never really thought about it myself, which is why I didn't include it.
I think it's mostly pattern recognition which developed from lots of exposure. For example there's only really two "main" solutions (8x3 and 6x4) but there are many "fringe" solutions (20+4, 16+8, 12x2, etc.). I'd have to re-watch the video to confirm this, but my guess is that I probably had 100% accuracy on the cards with the two main solutions (unless I said 8x3 instead of 6x4 or vice-versa). But I think that most or all of the ones I got wrong were fringe solutions that I wasn't able to recognize in time. So I guess to circle back and answer your question, most of this success comes from being able to quickly recognize whether the solution should be 6x4 or 3x8. The remainder of the success is the ability to quickly recognize that it's going to be a fringe solution and then also within 3 seconds figure out what that fringe solution is. I would say that probably comes down to practice and becoming more familiar with these cards, which I did extensively in middle school. Hope this helps 😂

@@Filet64 It's clear that with extensive practice and pattern recognition you can get very good at this. And if you usually remember the solution within 3 seconds, then exploiting the 3 second rule makes sense (which I guess was the point of the video). It just seemed to me that getting only part of the solution was key to the exploit and that you had a special strategy for it. I guess I misunderstood.
The video seemed a bit long for mostly being you trying to solve puzzles, which is also why I was hoping for more explanation.
I hope this criticism isn't too harsh. Thanks for the video!

@@DaviddeKloet Not harsh at all, criticism is always appreciated! You're right, I did kind of gloss over how I was actually solving all of them. I think I'm going to make a follow-up video now.

Man's out here saying "see how easy this is" and I found exactly 0 final steps in 3 seconds.
