Saramati is a janya ragam from the 20th mela-Natabhairavi, that does not contain panchamam or rishabham in the descending scale. Its a sampurna-audava ragam while a combination of the sampurna raga scale Natabhairavi and pentatonic scale Hindolam...: S R₂ G₂ M₁ P D₁ N₂ Ṡ /Ṡ N₂ D₁ M₁ G₂ S ; Certainly the kaisiki nishadham is the USP of the ragam. Vocalist Aanaya presented melodious performance. The Charanam is so beautiful.....sworakalpana with simple phrases that were linked to the raga notes and the thala cycle.Very good recital.
