The problem with the idea that France and Britain could intervene in Germany in the mid 1930s is that they were still recovering from the great depression, their armies were critically underfunded and unprepared for any military action, and the public had very little motivation to fight a war. This is the main reason why we ended up with a "phoney war" for the first few months of World War II - France and Britain were scrambling to prepare their militaries, but not actually actively fighting against Germany to any significant degree. This is also the main reason why Neville Chamberlain chose to appease Germany. He wasn't an idiot, and knew that Germany would use the opportunity to become more powerful, but he also knew that Britain wouldn't have been able to fight a war against Germany at the time without catastrophic losses and a significant risk of being defeated. It is certainly possible that if he had chosen to oppose Hitler earlier, the Allies could have still won the war, and even that the war could have been won sooner, but this was only a possibility, not guaranteed, and it would have been a huge risk for Britain to take.
16:0016:45 Highly unlikely, for the simple reason that the upper echelons of the the American government were remarkably sympathetic to the Soviets as a progressive utopian project built out of the ruins of a reactionary empire, and a potential ally in the decolonization of Africa (as would become the case in 1956 with the Suez Crisis) and dealing with the Japanese in China. It also didn't hurt that their economic ideas were within shouting distance of the New Deal's and most of their atrocities weren't well-known at the time, with the few that were known being heavily disputed thanks to the Soviets' own propaganda apparatus. Dean Acheson, Joseph Davies, Harry Hopkins, etcetera, are just a few of the well-known individual examples.

As someone with more extensive knowledge on the second Sino-Japanese war, the Soviets historically only truly began supporting the Chinese communists after they began winning the Chinese civil war which came after mere token Soviet support during the aftermath of the Japanese surrender like giving the communists a headstart to taking over the Japanese occupation of the region. Based on historical precedent, the Soviets supported whichever side was more power in China out of pragmatism of having an ally against the Japanese, and basically the Nationalists doing better in this timeline and being a vital ally of the Soviets against Japan, I would see the Soviets out of pragmatism supporitng the Nationalists until the defeat of Japan on the mainland, after which there would be tensions between the two over Sinkiang, Mongolia and Manchuria. The Soviets absolutely wouldn't have total dominance over China, because with European strengthened position in Europe would mean no loss of Indochina and Burma around 1941, which in turn would entail that the Chinese Nationalists would have basically an uninterrupted flow of goods via Indochina, while the Burma road could be constructed as an additional route even without the fall of Indochina in 1940 due to otl fall of France missing, and thus the Chinese nationalists are not limited to just at most some over 30 thousand tons of supplies monthly via air that was only sufficient for defense, but instead they would have a continued 9 thousand ton monthly supply route via the Burma road that would definitely increase in quantity with purchase of more trucks and expansion of the road. With this uninterrupted source of supply, the nationalists would be able to continue arming their forces to not only replace losses, but start building up a force capable of assaults, and thus eventually you'd see the Nationalists have sufficient enough equipped forces that they would be willing to risk losing with their loyal forces blockading the communists also supplied simultaneously, as the prize of pushing back the Japanese and regaining territory woudl seem more lucrative than not doing nothing, especially if the Japanese were losing to the Soviets as the cost of not trying to push would beocme the Soviets and thus maybe the communsits having a stronger foothold.

Germany fell, mostly to Polish-Lithuanian and Czechoslovakian forces, in July, 1939.
In fact this scenario is better for the Axis than our timeline, considering coups against the regimes in Germany and Italy: Germany doesn't lose territories in the east and is not divided and Japan isn't nuked
Ok, here's an alt history scenario: Hitler is killed by martians and Stalin kills himself after taking over the USSR, because he just couldn't handle the pressure. Alt history isn't supposed to be 1:1 to actual history, but it still needs to be grounded in reality. "Thus the need to make it as realistic as possible". Fucking, deux ex maxhina-ing every scenario with unrealistic shit would just fucking suck.
I certainly do not like these new transitions. I would like it more if it faded out again like in older videos. These transitions aren't smooth at all anymore and are rather distracting in my opinion.
0:35 Germans accualy had more forces on border with france in september 1939 than france had on border with germany.
"COMMUNIST WORLD GOVERNMENT..unless the Communists are losing"
Random Idea: What if Shikai's Empire of China Survived?
I'd be interested to see how it could outlast his death.
What if Egypt won the first Egyptian-Ottoman war
It won against the Ottoman. It lost against the rest of Europe.
Video idea: what if everything went terribly for Britain, particularly regarding if they never were able to establish their empire, at least to the extent they did in real life.
Just saying you could have watched the video before it was officially out if you looked in the "Every thing went perfect for X" playlist on PH's channel.
What if everything went perfectly for Ancient Israel? I would love to see it!(There is, for some reason, no alt history for Israel)
Hey there I’ve got a video idea if you don’t mind, what about what if everything went perfect for humanity, I get it’s abit general but could focus on like the climate and disease spread and stuff
forgot about potential Polish-Japanese Alliance against the soviets
Imagine if it became the Polish-Japanese Commonwealth
Already loving this! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
This was similar to my last HoI4 game. I was playing Poland (wound up reforming the Commonwealth) and Britain refused Appeasement, America went interventionist, France started building a massive European alliance, and Mussolini was deposed in favor of a democratic constitutional monarchy.
Germany fell, mostly to Polish-Lithuanian and Czechoslovakian forces, in July, 1939.
Nice job
Why does the CNT flag look like the Cartoon Network logo-
I feel like this actually went better than real life for the Germans and Italians, but I suppose not their leaders.
Love your videos!! Keep up the good work!!
Tractor Blitzkrieg 💪 2:28

1944/1945: Am I a joke to you?
That wasn't "everything". In here, they'll get humbled and undermined before WW2 even started.
In this timeline, the Axis are broke and defeated but not reduced to rumble
Please fix the transitions, they hurt my eyes. Apart from that, 10/10 video + Day 11 of asking for 'what if everything went perfect for Australia'.
What if everything went PERFECT for the Weimar Republic?
That one hasn't been done much. Good one.
In fact this scenario is better for the Axis than our timeline, considering coups against the regimes in Germany and Italy: Germany doesn't lose territories in the east and is not divided and Japan isn't nuked
This would basically be the League of Nations timeline. Great Britain, France, and Soviet Union would join early on, and squash any axis ambitions.
I love this series! it always presents such creative scenarios which you can actually believe could or would happen!
Alternative Title: "What if the Allies ignored their constituents in every way possible?"
As a Paradox Game enjoyer, I really love your MAP channel, kudos
THIS IS THE BEST VIDEO YOU EVER MADE (I'm 40 seconds in)
Just me who noticed "every modern empire"?? Finally!!!
Axis: The Risk We Took Was Calculated!
Italy: But Man, Are We Bad At Math!
I absolutely love that line lol
i read "What if everything went TERRIBLE for Asia?" lmfao
What if everything went terrible for France
Please do: what if Poland joined Axis (Ribbentrop-Beck Scenario)
I am once again asking for your Second Punic War video
I'm not sure I like these new transitions, they hurt my eyes. Apart from that, great video!
What if Adolf hitler became a super saiyan in 1945?
The new transitions are great between maps, but not petween pictures
The 'What If Everything Went Perfect For Luxembourg' show is going to be riveting.
"While keeping this as realistic as possible."
My fellow Internet user, you do not understand the alt-history scene.
Viewers want to see Germany invade America
Ok, here's an alt history scenario: Hitler is killed by martians and Stalin kills himself after taking over the USSR, because he just couldn't handle the pressure.
Alt history isn't supposed to be 1:1 to actual history, but it still needs to be grounded in reality. "Thus the need to make it as realistic as possible". Fucking, deux ex maxhina-ing every scenario with unrealistic shit would just fucking suck.
@@reaperz5677 This is a great idea
@@reaperz5677 There is a video of this accent in the period before World War I
Video idea: What if Navalny took power in Russian Federation?
I think the upload went wrong, the transitions between frames seems off, like a low bitrate.
Excellent video!Love the new art style too
Alternative title:What if acis fought against each other
Video idea: what if everything went PERFECT for Sweden
I certainly do not like these new transitions. I would like it more if it faded out again like in older videos. These transitions aren't smooth at all anymore and are rather distracting in my opinion.
Loving the editing please keep it up
Holy shit this was refreshing
0:35 Germans accualy had more forces on border with france in september 1939 than france had on border with germany. Germany was fully mobilized the day war broke out, and the french started mobilization around 2-3 september. So breaking german lines early would have simmilar results to1914 when french army almost broke due to failed offensive to alsace
How it be when me and bro are playing as UK and France in HOI4
What if the Japanese Empire and Co-Prospertity Sphere survived WW2?
the thumbnail: "the risk we took was calculated, but man are we bad at math"
Lol
Why is Memel shown as German in 1922?
cool panel change effect
Bro can you do a video on What if everything went perfect for Afghanistan.
Hello, Very Nice vidéo ! Could you please make a "What if everything Went perfect for italy" ?
Does anyone else just love the music
I do, this clasical music is so relaxing
What if the Ottoman started modernising, this could start at Selim the Third’s reign
That thumbnail is *perfect*
Is it weird that there's a lot here that I think is more realistic than what happened IRL?
Lore of What if Everything went TERRIBLE for the Axis? Momentum 100
Please, do "What if England won the 100 years war", I think it could potentially change the whole timeline
