Ok so I'm fairly new to this type of music I really like it and I've listened to a bunch of Industrial Metal (Im a Metalhead) which kind of introduced me to electronic/Industrial etc.. music but im so thoroughly confused, Ive listened to quite a few mixes here on youtube all the way through and Ive started noticing differences between the genres after constant listening however Im soooo confused because I pick a video and all these people are talking about how this song isnt industrial or EBM or its aggrotech not futurepop or whatever I guess what im asking is what are some of the differentiating sounds of the genres so I can know precisely what in listening to and also so I dont seem like an idiot if someone asks me what im listening to. thanks and sorry for the rediculously long comment! :)
+doochicka The difference is almost always based in the pace and the speed of the music. Aggro would be much faster than this, and futurepop is a bit slower, and is more for winding down than winding up.
So yeah... one thing we should all understand about the internet it's that there are people willing to state an opinion as fact, and they get off on telling others what to think. I recommend actually doing your own research, (and by that I mean talk to DJs and looking up stuff on Discogs / Bandcamp) etc. instead of listening to people who don't have commitment to knowing the music.
edit: vllt wärs noch gut wenn du in der beschreibung zum passenden lied die uhrzeit hinschreibst^^ damit einige wissen ab welcher zeit sie schauen müssen wenn ihnen nen lied besonders gut gefällt#

It's all electronic. it doesn't possess the quality of a real instrument to me. it doesn't take the constant talent and control a msician. someone thinks it up and programs a computer. maybe adds a little synthesizer. it is what it is. that's just my opinion.

Wenn ich z.b. an Beste Genres die sich alleine schon aus dem Postindustrial entwickelt haben denke (z.B. Powerelectronics) hat das hier doch herzlich wenig damit zutun :D Wer sich mal evtl Sachen antun möchte die wirklich aus dem ehemaligen "Industrial" entstanden sind sollte sich vllt mal Lobotomia von Einleitungszeit oder ähnliches geben.
