Reminds me of my trip to Korea to teach English in 2008 (I stayed 6 years). My first trip outside the U.S. going from Omaha, NE (population 350,00) to Seoul for 10 days then to Daejeon (1.5 million) I felt like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. It was awesome. I'll never forget that feeling.
The beauty of traveling right there
Korea is much different now compared to 2008..! You should revisit
Daejeon 👍
And I bet a lot quicker
Comback to Korea 🇰🇷 🎉
부디 한국에서 좋은 추억을 많이 쌓고 떠나셨길을 바라겠습니다. 한국의 좋은 이미지를 컨텐츠로 만들어 주셔서 감사합니다.
매우 감사합니다
Awesome! Seoul is a lot of fun. Enjoy your time there.

12. seolleongtang (stock soup of bone and stew meat)

so delighted to see both Lisa and Josh again , South Korea is a delightful place and that little island at the tip call Jeju would be such lovely place to see the ocean views and volcanic rocks formations .. go easy on the live octopuses , big guy
yes!! Jeju looks amazing! thank you for watching!
@@LisaAndJosh Jeju , take a stroll around the coast and catch a glimpse of ladies diving for abalones and see dried cuttlefishes hung in clothe lines , it is a seafood paradise and yes they got lots of korean bbq there ..if not too tired , probably hike up Seongsan sun rise peak to watch the sun rise and glorious ocean views , kinda like Santorini but less blues and white backdrops , stay safe and enjoy
9:03 Josh hit the button for disabled people! voice can help the people who can'ts see to cross the crosswalk safely :)
🤦♂️whoops! But that is so awesome that they have that option, it’s so thoughtful

Welcome to Korea 🇰🇷
thank you for the warm welcome!
Thanks! Traveling to Seoul in October, so this helped ease my mind about the travel process.
thanks so much and have a great time!!
Great video, guys! Love seeing your impressions of Seoul (as that's where we are currently.) Looking forward to more Korea vids.
I’ve really enjoyed your videos too! You may want to take Hays to Lotte world or Children Grand park. You won’t regret it.
@@meatjun2584 Thank you! We did take him to Lotte World! It will be in an upcoming vlog. :)
also love watching through your eyes!! :D we have to play catch up--you guys have seen so many cool places already!!
I love the way you narrate your videos, you guys are the best 💗
we appreciate you saying that! thanks for watching!! :)
Until now, I've only seen videos of Koreans traveling to other countries on TH-cam. However, I am proud and grateful as a Korean because you seemed to think of "Seoul" in a good way after watching this video of you traveling to Korea. :)
All the family members look happy and give good energy! ❤️
Wow, thank you! Seoul has been very kind to us :)
I subscribe. I really like your dynamic and style of vlog. Doing voiceover by showing around then food, adventure. Video quality is good it's the most important and the subtitles.
Thanks so much for the kind words and for subscribing! :)
감사합니다.
매우 감사합니다 ☺️
So glad you put this together! We booked a trip to go in July and are freaking out about all the stuff we need for the travel process (although it might be completely different by then). Thanks for being the guinea pigs for us newbies who also lack any basic Korean knowledge 😂
awesome, have a great time! :) it's going to be great!
July in Korea is too hot
Your content is so amazing Sir Josh and Ms.. Lisa! ♥️♥️♥️ Glad I found your TH-cam channel here. 😊🙏 Again, Thank you for cruising with NCL. 😊 It's me GERALD! 😊🇵🇭
GERALD!!! Hello! :) we miss you! Hope alls well on the ship
OMG, your first hotel was only 3 blocks away from my house. Hope you enjoyed chilling out here.
cool! we loved that area!!
There is a chain of restaurants called yoogane which has a dish called Dakgalbi. It’s marinated chicken with spicy sauce and you dip the chicken in cheese! Also they make fried rice out of the remaining bits.
Also if you are adventurous, you can try a Korean spa called jjimjilbang. One of the more popular places is called “dragonhill”
ooh we've heard about the infamous dakgalbi. this sounds so good! can't wait to try it! thank you for recommending the restaurant! :)
Seoul is the most active city in the world.
Doing the Korean Gogigui Bbq was a great ,spare of the moment , idea. Love it , big favourite. And to go to a new country and not doing any type of reconnaissance and no control. Must of been a crazy, stressful, feeling. But the excitement of not knowing looked like a fantastic and relaxing change. I should try it one day😄. 👍. Love your work.
thank you for watching!! we are definitely enjoying and craving the adventures of spontaneity lately :D and luckily, Seoul is helping us plenty!
Welcome to South Korea. Hope you guys have a nice trip!!!
thank you!
Hello and blessings from the Sunshine State Florida. Me and my hubby are going to South Korea in October 2023 and watching this video helps, so we won't be so lost😮😊
So glad you’re able to travel with Josh’s parents and share this experience with them. With everything going on this crazy world, family is important. Safe travels! And can’t wait to watch what/where you go next. :-)
we're so happy and lucky to! thank you for watching!
Hello, I am Korean. I happened to watch this TH-cam through an algorithm. Thank you so much for evaluating Korea well. It makes me feel good Come visit Korea again^^
Thank you too! :) we love traveling in Korea
“Where am I going to get pants?” 😂I love how you guys travel to such cool places and don’t sugarcoat the entire process. Traveling can be stressful, but the journey is almost always worth it. 😎
100% agree with this sentiment!! :)
Keep traveling and sharing, you two. We keep enjoying the journey with you 🤗💗
Thank you for coming along :)
영상 너무 잘 봤습니다. 부디 한국에서 좋은 기억만 가지고 여행 즐기셨길 바래요^^

Welcome to korea 🇰🇷
thank you for the warm welcome :)
perfect timing for Korean travel since the rules just changed on 23may,,K-eta and antigen only! lucky you! enjoy seoul. hope you make it do DMZ, great downtown,,,if you can go to Jeju Island as well..
This seems to be a very nice place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
We think that will be our next trip to too. this is a amazing country , we saw it in Dubai on the expo and we fall in love. Do you go to Jeju too? Have fun in your life Siri and Uwe
wow, the world expo in Dubai must've been awesome :) South Korea has been such an amazing part of our trip so far :) we even got to visit Jeju! thank you for watching!
@@LisaAndJosh The expo was great. See it on our video. Have fun on your trip. We will go next. Best wishes Siri and Uwe
Lisa and Josh! After a random stumble onto your vlogs 3-4 months ago, we went back to the beginning and have followed your entire saga in strict chronological order! Finally reaching the present. Yay!!! Like an addictive soap opera,’you have kept us riveted nightly all this time. Thank you so much for slowing down on the output a bit, helping us mortals catch and keep up. Almost live streaming your life is too much. You silly gooses! Josh’s earnest fact reporting and Lisa’s super infectious “Here we go!!!”, all the great scenery and endless, ever more skilled editing, are generous contributions. They will now endure out there and never cease being hit.
So relax! As long as you want it, the core of the “fan base” you are building in the here and now will just as gladly go along with you even when you go no where! And uploaded “all about it” just once every other week. There are infinite amounts of material on PLACES. But only 1 Lisa and Josh experiencing. We love how you look at each other. Protect you two above all.
As you wind down your finite funds on an INFINITE planet, the only true goal is be happy and safe. And do what you need to do be able to live on far more than bread (the cheerful prison-fare days to keep to budget were painful). Where you find the means to linger and just live and work out of a location you are very happy in (as you did on Oahu), don’t you dare rush on for us followers or for martyrdom to some initial goal. Life is not a sprint. It’s the two of you finding your ways to soak it in together. Operative word: SOAK! Not dip! Would staying put months at a time cause your base to dwindle? No! Its not Amazing Race. A TH-cam specialist on a single given area can garnish more hits than those only able to offer skimming glimpses - right? Look at the tens of thousands following quality uploads that are just up to date walking around an interesting place - no commentary at all. So long as sharing remains part of your equation your subscribers will be there. Wherever there is. PS precious times with the folks. Enjoy your remaining time together (fly out Lisa’s mom next?). Truly appreciative, Duncan andJenny
Hi Duncan and Jenny! Thank you for the thoughtful and wonderfully put message...and thank you both for watching our entire journey! we are indeed getting back to the "why" behind our trip, the fun and adventurous side of life on the road, especially as we figure out this TH-cam/life balance. And above all, we are enjoying it together. Thank you for the words of wisdom and for the kind reminders
Im addicted to watching all your videos. There so much fun and inspiring ❤
If you go up to Geumho Mountain and Baebongsan Mountain in Seongdong-gu, Wangsimni, you can see the night view of the Han River that is different from the night view of Namsan Mountain or Lotte Tower. Especially, there is a pavilion unique to Korea, so the Han River is truly art I strongly recommend it. There are many beautiful and delicious foods in the market near Wangsimni Station Mayor of Hawangsimni-dong ^^ Enjoy your trip to Seoul, Korea (Seoul Forest Park is also close) - If you walk through the mountain range, it will be called Dulle-gil, which leads to Namsan Mountain, and it will be another great sightseeing
I also pressed that bottom to cross the street a few times and my Korean friend asked me... What are you doing? This is the bottom for deaf sign... 🤔🤦♀️🤣😂
hahah whoopsies! :)
First!!!! Travel Thursday, Travel Thursday we're in South Korea!!! 🛫

It is my first time to watch videos of "Lisa and Josh"
super awesome ! subscribed and liked straight away :)
Travel safe ! Nice one !

good tips. EAT heavy before the flight. Each meal cost a lot on the flight
Ciao guys 👋 👋
Greetings from Greenwich London ⚓️ ⛵️

Cheers 🍻🔥🥩🥡🦀🦐🦑🐙🐠🥢😋👍🌹✅

Thanks for reminding how nice South Korea is. Yes, the Koreans are friendly. I remember being given by a 7-11 clerk a free chocolate.
wow, yes, we've had such friendly encounters in Korea :)
한국에서 좋은 추억이 가득 했기를 바랍니다. 한국을 사랑해주셔서 감사합니다. ^^
thank you!! ❤️
I am now a subscriber of your channel.
Awesome, thank you so much!!!
I recomend you to visit han river ( banpo bridge area) - picnic with waterfall from the bridge
thank you for the recommendation!
probably might try to climb to iconic peaks of South Korea , Seoraksan National Park in Seoul and In Jeju , Seongsan Sunrise Peak , both are free , if you have done that Camino , these two probably easy peazy , rest rooms a plenty with snacks shops scattered along the way , awesome views , 100% legit 😂
Thank you for these tips!!! We’ve heard such great things about the trails on Jeju :)
@@LisaAndJosh have a good rest first before embarking , though they have rest stops , it qualifies a mini camino like event...
It’s wonderful, yet scary, to explore a new area……the joy of traveling!!!!
exactly!!
Welcome to Korea, guys 🌸😍👏🏻🙏🍀
Thank you for the warm welcome! :)) we are so happy and feel lucky to be here!
I need to be there on 25th Jun. Hopefully they eliminate testing beforehand.

Currently in Korea right with the fam, visit gwangjang market in Seoul. Let me know if you wanna meet, we’re fluent in Korean
환영합니다.행뵉한 여행되세요.
thank you!! :)
다음에 또 놀러와요!😊
You should try the Issac Toast sandwiches, there are a few outlets around Seoul. Korean Fried Chicken is a must try, our favourite was a chain called Kyochon. Also in Myeondong, there is this small restaurant called Myeondong Kyoja, If you are looking for soupy noodles and gyoza they are awesome ( last time we went there, the menu had 4-5 items, they have a Michelin star not expensive) but yum. Also try Makgeolli which is a rice wine with lower alcohol content than Soju.
for those who wants to come to korea, covid pcr test on arrival is no longer necessary since 30.september.2022
I appreciated your honesty about how uncomfortable you felt 🤠.
as a Jolly Bean (Korean Englishman) viewer this is familiar
Our first question when we saw the temp was, "WHAT is Josh going to do for pants?" And then I'm pretty sure we both said it with him, which made us laugh, and I think he laughed and now we just feel creepy about the whole experience. 😂😂😂 (But seriously, Seoul is looking amazing!)
not creepy, this pleases us hahah 😂😂😂
I hope you enjoy your trip in Korea, enjoy delicious food, and cherish good memories.
Thank you!!
what's that app you use to take photos for translation, guys? am really curious. great vid and am following your travels closely 😁 hope to hear from youse...
Google translate
love itttt
"so many cables" LOL
Same toothbrush? ewww
Enjoy Korea! I was able to get into Japan 5 days ago and am loving it.
Hi ! how did you manage to enter Japan ? I though they had very strict rule for tourist.
enjoy Japan ! I wish you a very good trip
@@_Aurore I'm here for business, which is allowed. I had to get a visa, as all foreigners need now.

Thank you for sharing your awesome experience
Alila is so awesome 😎 right, love your videos
so good!!
YES
agreed!
When did you guys go to Seoul? Just need rough dates as my bf and I are planning to go there too from KL!
Hi,
Great video! Do you need a visa for a 10 day visit? Also, did you have to provide a vaccine certificate? I am a British citizen, thanks.
hi there! the rules may have changed, so we would recommend checking for the most up to date guidelines, but we did need to apply for a K-ETA and show our vaccine certificates english.visitkorea.or.kr/enu/TRV/TV_ENG_1_COVID.jsp
한국에서 반찬 1~2개만 주는 식당이 더 많아요.. 간단하게 먹을 수 있는 설렁탕, 국수, 냉면 이런 거 파는 식당들은...
Kansas? Seol korea will be like new york mattahan for kansas people right? Similar vibe. There isn’t much in kansas. Seoul is pretty expensive even if you converted to usd. Countries in southeast asia are much much cheaper $100 can get you by a week or more in street food in like vietnam
lol
What trabsportation did you use from Incheon to seoul? Thank you!
we ended up taking a taxi from the airport to Seoul, since there were 4 of us. but the train and bus are also wonderful options! we have since taken the train to and from Incheon and it was very convenient.
호떡 꼭 드세요
oh yes!!! we just tried this in Busan! it was so good, filled with nuts and honey :)
14:20 lol lol lol take it out of your mouth. you guys have two toothbrushes?, save money shear a toothbrush . Seeing Lisa running and crying was very funny.
hahah we do have two toothbrushes! in fact, we have two each haha but some of them look way too similar!
Bummer could have given you some korea travel recs but assuming you have already left
we're still here :) would love some recs!
@@LisaAndJosh Free in Seoul - national museum; Hike Inwangsan; evening picnic at Yeouido Hangang Park or Ttukseom Hangang Park - bring blanket and fried chicken or kimbap and beer/soju; Seoul Forest; Gwangjang market; favorite neighborhoods (cafes) - Ikseon-dong; yeonnam-dong; Seongsu-dong. If you have time to leave Seoul and go south - go to Busan or Gyeongju or Jeju; there are slower trains to Busan from Seoul if you don’t want to pay for the ktx option

Knowing nothing about the place is the fun part of traveling.
agreed!
Air Asia is the worst LCC ever.
Countries worse off than Asia
What an expensive hotel?
Its not goes well with the first meal
But... why?
One think I would not to be happy served by robots! Korea food is not for me ! Maybe the country but not city!
Ok, you are overlooking the fact that most of the packaged food we buy are made by machines in factories. It’s just a robot arm that’s placing a cup of coffee. You need a barista to hand you your coffee? I don’t know how much Korean food you tried, but what is with I don’t like the food or the city but the country is okay?
