Kunesh is invincible. Get a weapon (most likely an axe) and beat him inside his house. You can get xp from beating his unconscious body. Get max combat stats in 10 minutes. Then stealth knockouts villagers in secret (kill them or you'll get caught) until stealth is 6. Save in front of a guard with a bow and stealth kill him. Do not stealth knockout because it will probably fail. A trader has a dagger you can use. Take the guard's gear and run away behind the trader stalls. There is a spot in an alley where you can jump from a wood pile to a roof. From there you can kill the remaining guards with a bow. Don't kill the traders because they will put more stuff out for you to pick up from the table over time. I got out of skallitz with 5k gold after selling the loot.
Well I also know the big exploid early game. The time come back to Skarlitz and you go to the dog, you have this robber to hit unlimited time. This is easiest way to get Strengh to 15-20 in less than 1 hour. I did this on my second playthough and had Axe 10, Sword 14, Mace 10, Str 17, Agi 13, Bow 5, Hand Combat 10. And I did this in about 1-2 Hours. The good thing about leveling on him is : he is not blocking, he is not moving, he just eating your atacks^^
I've played as good boy Henry and just take gear from bandits and cumin I beat in fair open combat. It's the only good Christian way to play, god save you.
George Washington Rockwell no all the smartest people don't believe god you stupid fuck. One person said they think we live in a simulation but he has no actual proof. Look up Neil Tyson on god
yoiu dont have to do that, the inn before you go back to skalitz is where you can go. Ask the keeper for a room for a night and put the stuff in a chest near your bed. It trasnports the gear to your room at the millers. Unless they patched that. That way you keep everything.
I was also going to say the same thing when I saw that in the video. I was like, "But the horse you rode in on, is there!" So yes, take the horse that you came with so you can avoid the theft fine.
This is mostly great advice. Just a few alterations/suggestions of my own: 1) You're better off losing to Kunesh, sneaking inside his house, and looking at is locked chest. Fritz will then give you 4 lockpicks for free. After trashing the Deutsch's house, you can then have your friends join you in beating Kunesh, giving some extra fight experience. 2) Since you want to lose to Kunesh the first time you face him, follow the advice in the video until Kunesh's face starts looking banged up. At that point, simply Block attacks for as long as you can. 3) There are two guards in Skalitz (at the northern and southern gates) that you can knock out and loot. They are equipped with decent armor and weaponry, and make killing the first Cumans during the escape easier. In particular, the bow and arrows make killing the first Cuman easy via the backpedal and shoot kiting strategy. 4) Upon arriving in Talmberg, you normally walk down the stairs to speak with Robard. Instead, you should drop all your equipment in the room behind you (so that you can move full speed), and then go upstairs and across the wooden walkway into the guard tower and then enter sneak mode. There will be a lone guard in that tower, and he's asleep. Knock him out, and you get some terrific equipment (Aachen Dark Brigandine, Silver Spurs, etc). Kill him and hide the body, and then there's no witnesses to the theft and no bounty. Addendum to 3 & 4: The gear taken from the knocked out guards will be flagged as stolen, but the stolen flag will be gone upon waking in Rattay. 5) If you leave Talmberg on the horse you arrived with, it's not theft and you'll have no bounty there. 6) When you're in Skalitz to bury your parents, both Zbyshek and Runt will be flagged as immortal. Thus, you can train on them arbitrarily long to level your combat attributes. 7) After selling everything you looted during the prologue (including all your equipped gear, except for the Silver Spurs, Savior Schnapps, and Bianca's Ring), talk to the alchemist/apothecary in Rattay. Get the first level of training, and ask him about learning to read. Also, make sure you grab the shovel from the miller's house. Then go to Neuhof, follow the road north of the stable towards the north-east. There will be a camp along the road with excellent armor and equipment, generally better than what was sold. Then go to Uzhitz. North of the town, there is a long field. There is a lone tree just to the south-east of the field, and beneath the tree is a grave. Dig it up, and there is some great chest armor and large sum of Groschen. Then head back to Uzhitz, learn to read, and then buy Kanthaka at the Uzhitz stable (unless you prefer Pegasus or Sleipnir). At this point, you'll be almost out of money... but you've got end-game level armor and weapons, a great horse, and can both read and brew potions. All without any extra combat, dialogue checks, etc.
You get the speech levels when you talk to your Mom, and then you just use the speech option on Kunesh. Then you can go look at the chest and get the lockpicks from Fritz. Then later, you can come back with the boys and beat up Kunesh, after beating up Zbyshek and Hans, for some extra strength and unarmed etc xp. Also I would suggest be careful you lon't lose rep before buying everything you want to buy from merchants, like Saviour Schnapps, and selling whatever you can to get their gold..
You don't have to drop everything in Rovna .When escaping Talmberg, there is a inn nearby, tell the innkeeper that you want to sleep for one night for 2 gold, near your bed is a chest that you can open, you can store everything there and it will somehow teleport to your chest in Rattay mill.
@@Florent3753 I encountered a bug (or feature?) two years ago where the items inside boxes will reset along with any items on the surface of tables and such. I assume its no longer present, I haven't played the game in quite a long time.
@@avariciousandrew6921 Ah ! I haven't seen that your post was 2 years ago, sowry. And yes, now you can put items in any boxes. It's useful when you stole and don't want a soldat to remove your items ;p
Wanderer, I can tell you how to power level. 1. Choke out a guard and loot him. Kill him so he doesn't report you. 2. Choke out Kunesh. 3. Carry Kunesh to a area that's out of the way 4. Stab and/or shoot him with your weapon. Kunesh is essential so he can't die. You can level just by poking him and/or shooting him.
AK reaper You might wanna try boosting your strength as long as you feel fairly decent at combat every time you get ambushed while fast traveling stop and kill them don't hit ignore it's a waste of free xp also once you hit sneak level five you'll be able to assassinate people as long as you have a dagger in your inventory
Also don't buy savior schnapps EVER they are ridiculously overpriced and once you get to Rattay you can make 2 per day for 13.5 groschen (minimum -- I've made 6 from that 13.5 groschen before) without haggling.
Sure, but to be honest, in a day or two of playing you can reach a point where you won't have to worry about money at all. Specially if you spend the time to get the Ancient Maps done and get the Rattay castles ransacked. Hell, just from going along with the main quest and the bandit/cuman camps you'll get good money. Just keep picking all the items with good weight/price ratio and sell them to the swordsmith/armorsmith/tailor of Rattay.
After powergaming my way out of Skalitz, I can afford a permanent room at every inn at every town in the game and still have money left over to buy my Herod's Sword. Sleeping in your own bed saves the game.
Not sure if you mentioned this, but picking the herbs in Skalitz will give you the Resistance perk for free (permanent +2 to Vitality) due to the quantity of nettles that are around the town to pluck.
After getting lockpicks in Skallitz, it's important to take "luck of the drunk" perk, it will allow you to pick very hard chests, which in Skallitz contain almost all traders stash. Virtually every trader in the game has his trade stash behind a hard or very hard chest nearby. This way you can get all of their stock *and* money, or you can buy the stock first and only steal money if you're bothered by the stolen tag. As pointed out, you can choke out guards in Skallitz to get their armor and bows/arrows. If you get bad reputation, and the guard starts chasing just run away leading that guard to a secluded area, pay the fine, then as soon as the guard turns around sneak behind him, knock him out and get your money back. Guards sometimes respawn with shields, that's the only way to get Skallitz shield early on. 2 guards usually are equipped with bows and arrows, you level up bow/agility/hunting by killing cows and sheep (i've even had sheep respawn once). You can store all your stuff in any of the two chests in Henry's house, if you don't want to be encumbered much for the runaway part, you'll retain access to these 2 chests(and only these) when you return to Skallitz. After the "arrow to the thigh" cutscene, your horse will have a "noble saddle (4 saddlebags)" - the best saddle in the game (?), which you can take out of it's inventory before reaching Talmberg. The scribe of Talmberg has a very good quartered outer jacket with 12 defence. The horse trader in Uzhitz has a horse for 150~170 Groschen, which you can get early on even without min-maxing.
Thank you. Can you use the horse (Olena) to store gear if you get it, after Talmberg? Or only use it to ride? Just wondering if I should take gear off of it or leave it on it.
Also one thing, I forgot to mention is to drink as much booze as possible while in Skallitz to level up drinking. I wasn't even aware of "alcoholic" debuff until later, but it's not present in the prologue, possibly due to time freeze.
I haven't checked but what is the reputation hit during prologue afterwards? Mine, despite me not killing anyone (or being caught trespassing, etc.), ended up being 21 - not that it matters I suppose.
Also, when you leave Talmburg to sneak back to Skalitz, you can rent a room at the inn and get access to the storage chest, just dump all your stuff in there rather than all over the road (and avoid the trip back to get it). Honestly the 2 silver is worth it.
You also don’t need to steal armour you can jump off the bridge, but then everyone will chase you for a while, if caught you can pass a speech test and be let go outside the keep
This is the type of early game cheese that makes the game too easy though -- so I wouldn't do it. Once you get the head start and start scaling Henry's stats the NPC/AI have no way to deal with it. Nice to be aware of stuff like this but if you want a challenge I wouldn't do it.
You can get 4 lockpicks while you're still in skalitz and use them to break into chests. The tavern chests have a lot of loot in them especially. To do this you just need to say you'll tell your dad about Kunesh refusing to pay the debt, walk into Kunesh's house and look at his chest, then meet up with your friend later. It'll take a bit of practicing and luck but once you get your first level in lockpicking you can grind your lockpicking until you can open hard chests in Skalitz. You also don't need to steal a horse in Talmberg, mounting the horse you rode in on isn't a crime.
One of the horses at Tamlberg is yours you can use it without it being considered stolen, I am guessing this is the horse you rode there on doesn't matter much though you still lose it when you go back to Skallitz.
There is no reason to have best possible start, the slow start is the best part of the game, after there, you are in a god mod and game becomes kinda dull, so why ruin the most fun part.
KCD doesn't quite work like that, even with all stats maxed out you can still get your shit kicked in by a common thug. While stats do help, knowing how to fight means significantly more than stats.
Not true, as long as you have decent weapon and full armour, you are good to go against vast majority of enemies. Unless you have potato reaction time.
You don't *have* to disguise yourself as a guard to get out of Talmberg. You can simply jump the drawbridge chain and run for it, but it's hard to avoid getting recaptured, or you can do what Lady Lilia did in her playthrough, which was to get a horse and jump the drawbridge chain with it, then book it for Skalitz as fast as possible.
Ahh.. but if you actually follow The Wanderer's advice in this video, that's not gonna be a problem, is it?.. you'll already have far better armour than you can get in Talmberg.
One thing I think is worth mentioning, is that before you forge the sword (but after you pillage the town and save) you should try to knock out Deutsch and steal his clothes (and pillage his house). He's got really nice clothes (on him and in the house), and he's wearing a gold ring, which is the best ring in the game, and I haven't found another one yet so its really really valuable.
There is also a way to abuse Kunesh to raise your stealth skill. If you progress his quest to "find another way to get the axe and hammer" you can then repeatedly sneak up on him and knock him out. If you fail, it briefly instigates combat but due to the quest he doesn't run to the guards and will drop combat. Once you knock him out, pick him up and drop him near a guard for a quick revive then rinse / repeat to build stealth. After getting a horse and escaping Talmberg, ride straight out eastward. Its the fastest way to the cutsceen and you can recover the horse later. It will always be right at the spot you are when the cutsceen happens and you can use it till you get Pebbles later on.
Killing guards for their gear is the fastest way to get rich, as long as you have max combat stats. It's easy enough to beat unconscious Kunesh to get max combat stats before leaving Skalitz. Once you've got your fill of guard gear, store it in a personal chest and go to jail. When you get out, all the gear will no longer be considered stolen. From there you can do Sir Robard's bandit hunting quests. Don't turn in the ears to him. Go through all the bandit hunting quests until you have to talk to the master of the monastery. Turn the bandit ears over to him and you'll get 640 per ear. You could possibly get 20 ears if you manage to kill all the bandits from every camp that Sir Robard made you break.
Ap0Kal1ps3 I prefer to play honestly. All my armour is gold trimmed and I still have 5.9k. Never committed a crime. I've found before I turn it off and go on my massacres through town that killing guards seems to break the game if you kill too many. They start trickling out one at a time and for some reason have trouble finding you, even as you're slaying others. You can have you exploits mate, I guess I just know how to play video games
I was bad in Skallitz for roleplaying purposes, Henry was a thief who quick tempered who possessed a certain charm and thought only of himself who acquired quite a bit of wealth from his exploits. After the events of Skallitz and the lose of his family and seeing the people who's wealth he had taken without remorse begging for coin without a pot to piss in he sees the pain he once inflicted he decides to use his abilities to help those who once hurt. He is not a perfect man honor doesn't hold sway over him self preservation and winning mean more to him. He tries to do the right thing but it often has dark twists. For example he will warn heretics that the Vicar are after them then murder the Vicar while lying to his lord about how the Vicar died while none being the wiser.
Donbd83 sounds suspiciously like a second playthrough haha. I went full chivalrous with a sprinkle of gallantry from the bat. Toward end game Henry became bitter and aged by war (to cover for my rp fuck up). I'm yet to finish "epilogue"
+Nathan Powell More like a restart. Wasn't too far in was killing the bandit camps after the attack on the stud farm and I killed the first camp and some of the members ran away so I waited a hour and the bandit leaders body disappeared, I didn't loot the spurs off him that I needed and he never respawned. I am not very far in story wise just beat the bandit camp, did more of the side quests this time around. Still haven't found out how to get into fighting tournaments.
It's good advice but with a start like this you're gonna have to get some higher difficulty mods, as the game becomes trivial with full armor and one-hit kills.
One thing that got missed here is if you press X and whistle for your horse named Olena it will get the guards off Theresa & when you go back to talmberg you won't get charged with horse theft when you leave in disguise if you ride out on Olena and save yourself 70 groschen.
You don't have to steal a horse in Talmberg - the one you stole from the Cumans in Skalitz is there, and not marked with "steal" when you go to ride it.
Also pick up a tonne of nettles, this gives you a permanent 2 to vitality through a hidden perk which says you have gotten a natural resistance to poison.
Ok even easier guide,.. need one savior schnapps,.. Go back to skalitz fast travel, go up the open path and save outside of the open gate in the city, Bandits and Cuman's starts fighting each other. Hopefully the cumans win or down to only one person left. While they are fighting sneak in and loot the dead bodies,.. Sometimes might need to reload to get an outcome you want, but you pick up high level mostly 1k + gear from even dead bandit and that is that.
One other thing while you can't go past the fence as you auto die while fighting the cumans however, you can attack them with the bow. This will cause them to come after you. Move to where the bridge near the grey horse and the body of a servant are. That'll come running over. Additionally the horse mounted riders are on a loop, so if you shoot the horse it'll eventually bleed out. Which means you can shoot the cumans once they fall off the horse. It'll give you about 4 to 5 extra cumans to kill depending on how good you are with shooting the bow at long range targets.
Level _15_ in herbalism after picking Skalitz clean? Tell me whatever you did differently, because that only got me to level 5 or 6. It also took me _hours_ of gameplay.
Thank you so much for this video! My first playthrough is just total garbage. I'm going to restart and try your methods out. You are the best, seriously!
Two rather big tips you missed: When you are awoken in Talmberg most of the garrison will be on the battlements awaiting you and your cutscene. Provided you acquired the four free lockpicks in Skalitz(Fritz will give them to you if you do not fight or lost the fist fight and sneak in the house to see the locked chest) this makes for the perfect time to steal everything you can from the castle and guard towers. There is usually only one sleeping guard who you can easily knock unconscious and take all the equipment from. He was decently well geared last I checked with quite a bit of plate and some very high-quality mail and gambeson. The Inn in Talmberg proper is not closed. As soon as you escape the castle if you are not being chased by guards(as you stole the disguise in the night) you can easily spend two of the thousand or so groschen you made thus far to rent a room and deposit everything in your shared chest. That eliminates any need for dropping your possessions and endless backtracking to sell.
Now I feel horribly silly for not seeing that you had released a new video in the description. I blame youtube recommendations. I will watch the updated one now!
Great guide, thanks. For a lot of the people commenting on glitch exploitation, the whole thing about this game I found great other than the immersion is that it's hard... it makes you earn your way. Grinding to have a good start is one thing, but powergaming and exploiting a glitches to become OP during the prologue is missing the point of a good gaming experience IMHO.
Because this game is especially realistically-difficult, it makes it so much more rewarding and more importantly, Satisfying to explore and strategize tricks like these. I always enjoy watching videos like these for this game.
Pro tip: win the fight with your First Cuman™️ by getting up on the rocky outcrop right next to you. Use elavation, constant headstrikes with your sword = profit
When you go to 'get' a horse one of them is the one you rode in on (the one on the far right if your looking at their backs) and it won't count as stolen or treat it as stealing.
WTF, I dropped all of my stuf at Rovna but when I fast traveled back from Miller all of my stuf was gone, how tf is this possible bro, im glad I can still steal the guards weapons tho, I will try that now but I am dissapointed about the weapons and armor :( I only took the merchant sword and talmberg armor and left the good shit there ..
I wonder if it has to do with the fact that I logged off and came back the the following day after work; maybe the stuff remains if you immediately go back after.
There is a road north of skalitz that leads you to the end of the map, just before you reach the end of the map there is an abandoned camp on the left with an open chest filled with a lot of the best endgame armored and weapons. You're welcome.
When picking flowers in the beginning look for wormwood. Theres a decent amount and it goes for .9 and with the botanist perk, under herbalism, they sell for 1.5 groschens.
You don't have to steal the horse in talmberg, there is one that isnt marked as owned that you can use without getting a fine. Also, once you ride off towards skalitz and the cutscene triggers, you can go back to the spot where the cutscene triggered and the horse will still be there for you to use (however its not owned by you so pressing X wont call it). That's an easier way to get a free horse early on without having to pay a fine in talmberg.
when i was doing the ginger in a pickle quest. i ran into this dude when i was looking for the bandits that were searching for ginger. we argued because there was a dead deer on the road. i just let em go and when he turned around, i shot em with a villager ash bow i stole from talmberg. he had a bow called the "trial" bow and it did 52 damage i think. and it didnt require any agility or strength
How to not play Kingdom Come = Watch this video. Jesus ... KCD is about immersion, role play, and living your own experience... and here is a video about generic, un-personal min/maxing crap. But thanks for telling how to save Theresa, I was wondering if it was possible...
You clearly underestimate min maxers and their need to perfect their craft in games they play. You may derive enjoyment from playing a certain way, others do it differently and that’s ok.
+Fritz Miot | Please do not take this the wrong way, but this "play any game the way you want" mainstream argument is not good for the industry. Let me explain : Games are designed by their developers to be experienced a certain way. The same way you buy a Ferrari and can't complain when it doesn't follow a 4x4 in the hills, because it wasn't designed for that. What happens is that game developers often succomb to the pressure of the majority of casual entitled gamers that don't want to make the effort to understand which experience the game is supposed to bring them, but want every game tailored to their expectations. It is one of the main reasons why we, for a long time have been seing generic boring fake AAA "RPG" and other genres... Of course, at the end of the day, people will do what they want with the game they purchased, but then, their feedback shouldn't be taken with as much consideration as the feedback of those who play the game as it was intended to imho. +Thijs Schröder | I don't play the game how I want to, I play it how it was designed to be played, and in the begining, I knew whistling was to call a horse, but I didn't had any horses, so I didn't see the point of whislting while escaping, I was afraid it would draw even more attention to me while I was running for my life. And living knowing I didn't help Theresa is a great element of the role play... A true RPG like KCD is not about "winning" or getting the best out of all situations, it's about your choices, and living with them.
Anjayl When did I say anything of the sort? People play their games the way they want to full stop. This has nothing to do with how developers chose to design their games or the vision they have. If I buy a Ferrari and I drive it off into the hills, that is solely my business. What you’re arguing for is essentially the devs’ vision, or more specifically what YOU believe is the devs’ vision, is the only way a player should experience the game. What? No. As a dev, especially for an open world rpg, once you release your product I’m free to consume it how I want. An ice cream shop cannot dictate how I eat my food I paid for. Even if that were true, which it most certainly is not, how the hell would anyone enforce that? If I’m an immersive role player, I’ll play it however I interpret what it means to be immersed. If I’m a power gamer and want to min max, I’ll do want I want. If my aim is to find every game breaking interaction then I am free to pursue that experience because that’s what I find enjoyable and THAT is the ultimate goal of the game. To make it even more plain why you’re way off base, your argument taken at face value means games should not be modded, etc.
0:50 No, go for speech, strength can be farmed on Kunesh the Immortal. 1:30 You should end Skalitz with 18 herbalism at least from striping it of flowers. 5:50 You can kill him easily even with level 1 in everything, just abuse sprinting unlocked attacks. 8:52 You can easily kill them by using either a halberd from the guard in Skalitz or the spear from Cuman coming up to kill you, they one shot mounted and 2shot on foot(1shot if you hit the head). If you're super lucky you might get a bug that equips the Halberd or Spear as a one handed weapon, essentially turning you into a 200 damage per hit god. 10:17 No need to steal a horse, the one you rode in from Skalitz is on the far right and is considered 'yours', or at least until you chase it away. Now a few tips: *DO NOT* talk to father when you do the morning intro talk with mother and level up your Speech twice. Talking to father is the last thing you do. *Thief* You can loot Skalitz of everything, takes a bit of luck, but if you undetected knock out everybody including the guards, you can only leave the 6 traders with their possessions or the only ones alive if you use guard's weapons to kill them. *Maintenance* You can max out maintenance in 10-20 minutes while still in Skalitz, depending how good you are, get a weapon, or multiple, grind them to 0-1% one after another, then re-grind them back to 100%, this awards significant XP. *The Immortal* Kunesh, the drunkard, is in fact an immortal, or at least until you leave Skalitz. This in means what ever damage you do, will NOT kill him, but count as a knockout blow, knockout blows give considerable XP, so high in fact that one stamina bar of _PUNCHES_ will lift you to level 4-5 in Strength, Agility, Vitality and unarmed. Mere 10 minutes of punching will max you out to level 20 in all 3 physical stats and Unarmed. Get yourself a weapon and max it out in another 10 minutes, there are both axes, swords and maces you can loot from people you knock out. You can even farm archery on him, but there's a limited amount of arrows and if you're unlucky they'll all break rather quickly, but you can still pass level 5-6 with ease even if every arrow breaks on first shot and no longer get hurt by bows if you don't have armored gloves. *Stealth* Now this is one of more tedious tasks as it takes an hour at least to max out, you can level this in one of 2 ways, stab all the guards in towns in the face to near death and run away, causing them to become 'Enemies' netting you XP for sneaking around them. OR proceed to repeatedly knock out every isolated civilian when they wake up, such as training dummy for this the worker in front of second wood wall between the castle/keep and the outer wall. He never moves and can be repeatedly knocked out with ease, you can even carry his body to your mother(she's sitting near the camp fire) who will summon the guards to wake up the worker quickly, the guard will leave and worker will be doing nothing, letting you knock him out again and sending your mother screaming for guards again.
The stolen flag definitely wears off. I stealth kill guards and loot all their good gear. I then stash the gear in my personal chest and go to jail. When I get out of jail, the stolen tag has always worn off.
Great guide. I did some of that last night before I learned of this. But yeah herbalism and alchemy is a great way to make money. You dont have to steal the horse. You have you own horse there.
If you snuggle up to Vanyek in sword training, and get him in a corner, you'll be too close for him to block. This allows you to get more XP. Thrusting attacks are faster, and you wanna' keep your stamina under 50% so it regens faster. I was able to gain 2 levels of Sword and Warfare and 1 level of Agility and Strength.
1) Choke out a few random people (don't take keys) 2) Choke out a guard with a halberd take it and drop it somewhere private 3) Choke out Kunesh and take his body somewhere private 4) Spam attack with the halberd on Kunesh's unconscious body (this levels strength, vitality, and agility). 5) Pick every lock in town starting with the easy ones and working your way up (you can get ~9 lockpicking, also levels stealth). 6) You may have to lure people into their houses by trespassing to get them to relock doors if you need a bit of extra lockpicking (stealth towards the houses at the far side of town from your house and people will follow you off their bench and into the house). 7) Take the pick locks better while drunk perk if you want the Very Hard Lock chests in town (not really worth it but you can). 8) Pick herbs at some point for profit. 9) Choke out or assassinate the town for gear (never take the keys if you haven't done lockpicking yet). 10) Kill all the Cumans on your way out (you get healed before the horse riding segment)
You can get the St. George's sword from Hans Capon during his bathhouse quest. You can just steal it and let it sit inside your chest until the stolen tag gets removed. (If you don't want to cheat your way by exploiting that chest with the endgame gear).
Why did they make it so difficult to grab items. Like in fallout you just get close enough and you can pick it up easy. In this game you have to be in specific angle to pick items up. Is there a fix for this? Cause stealing is nerve racking when you can't find that sweet spot were the "pick up" option shows.
After doing all this I recommend doing sword training from Captain Bernard then going back to Skalitz where there is a compound to the south. That compound has a chest outside with three necklaces valued at 1k each and five really well armed bandits inside.
Go to the second floor door at the building where you have to steal some wine for through the first door you see and the chest right in front of you, opposite the door, as long as your able to lock pick very hard chest, in there should be gear worth 10,000 plus Grotchen and 3,000+ grotchen.
When your in Talmberg you could've put everything in the chest next to your lodging bed. Also you don't have to steal a horse in Talmberg you can grab the horse that got you to Talmberg.
Here's how you get your best start (2022-05-06): Get herbalism to lvl 10, then get the perk for the strength. Get herbalism as high as possible (16-17) without entering the tavern area yet (ensure that the cutscene doesn't happen). Kill all regular citizen without names and choke all named citizen to steal all their belongings, then plunder their houses. Ensure that you kill all animals (sheep and cows with weapon, chicken with fist), before you trigger any cutscenes or savegames. The animals will respawn after loading a savegame and after cutscenes. Therefore, whenever a cutscene ist trough, kill all the animals again. If there's an autosave or you save manually, load immediatly after, then kill all animals. Always take the meat. Ensure that you loot at least 2 guards with bows (reloading can change their type between halberd and bow type). Put on arm protection and use half your arrows (not more!) to train bow on the sheep to lvl 2. If you get hurt or start bleeding, your mom can heal you. Cooking stolen food removes the stolen tag and they can be sold. Don't eat any food, instead eat out of all cooking pots from the NPC houses. Buy all Saviour Schnapps. When you're done with everything, you should still have around 10 Saviour Schnapps and the merchants shouldn't have any gold nor Savior Schnapps left. Save before giving the nails to the girl. For the first cuman, you wait in front of the bush on the wall in stealth mode, until he passes. Then you try to sneak-kill him from behind. If that fails, he drops his sword, then it's an easy fight against him. Just press 1 to draw your sword and he won't be able to fight you with his fists at all. Loot everything, put on his complete armour set, then run to your horse, but DON'T sit on the horse! Behind your horse is a cart. Stand at the end of the wood plank pile next to it and jump on the cart. Equip your bow, draw your bow, optionally, save here. Wait until all enemies are right next to the cart. Those with halbers/swords can't attack you. Prioritize those with bows, since they can harm you. If they are right next to the cart, it's very easy to shoot their face. You can also loot them for additional arrows. When all enemies are dead, shoot an arrow towards the 3 cumans who molest Thabeta. They will come to the cart too, deal with them like all the other guys. Kill the 2 horses, take their saddles and equip it to your horse, to increase its carrying limit. Loot however you please, ensure that you aren't encumbered and continue to the regular path. In the next scene when you have to run away from the Cumans with the horse, before you do anything else, open your inventory, take out everything (including the saddles) from the horses inventory and put it in your own, since you won't be able to access the inventory of the horse later anymore. You will be totally encumbered, but you can still run away with the horse without any issues.
You did this very differently than I did. I upgraded my stealth by going around and choking everyone in town till I got the assassin perk where you can stab people from behind. Then i went and stabbed all the guard or atleast the ones that I could. Took all their armor, groshen, and weapons, put it in my chest inside your house and then do all the cut scenes and what not till you can go back to your town. Also you dont need to steal a horse, just get on the one you road into talmburg
The best way to get good gear fast is to find the Wayfaring Knight and attack him. With a decent sword you should be able to injure him badly before he can draw his weapon, giving you a good chance of beating him. Then take his armor.
You can also rob the hunter at Tamberg, a lot of loot and 200 Groshen. I think you can also get free archery lessons by paying him and stealing it back later.
If you go to Skalitz RIGHT after you gain freedom to travel, There will be an opportunity to encounter 3 holdups there, but after a short while these stop or cant be encountered at all. I managed to get several sets of TOP quality plate armor gold spurs noble mail ect. Though you may have to fight a few bandits(Kite them with horse after leading them outside), it is possible to encounter talberg soldiers fighting bandits that usually loose making it safe to loot them.
The hold shift to disable lockon, start swinging away from the oponent and then when the blade would hit turn to the target is the best tip for combat, when i tested it it felt like the enemy AI can't handle the tactic and always gets hit, since they are not in defense mode and won't block. The lockon puts the enemy in defense mode where they start blocking. It's almost an exploit and can be abused throughout the game. Especially with high stamina you can just dance around enemies and get the cheap hits in, you can clear whole camps with this.
I picked over 700 nettles in first town. If you sell these and buy these to a shop, you can make around 7 groch each time you buy and sell by haggling. no need to pick any other flowers but those. It will take some time tho

...and much more!
Thank you everyone for your support, comments, suggestions, and feedback!
The Wanderer is it called beating kunisch? Lol
Then your OP and the game is no longer fun when you 1 shot everything lmao! 😂
This is an "OP Early" guide. It's supposed to break the game.
Jesus Christ be praised.

Dumping at Rovna no longer works this guide is now obsolete (On PC) Upvote for visiblity
yoiu dont have to do that, the inn before you go back to skalitz is where you can go. Ask the keeper for a room for a night and put the stuff in a chest near your bed. It trasnports the gear to your room at the millers. Unless they patched that. That way you keep everything.
Confirmed, also lost all the stuff dropped at Rovna
I took a dump at Rovna and ended up getting arrested. Vacation ruined. Guide is totally obsolete. Upvote for visibility.
@@theangrycheeto You just sound bad at the game.
@@ShaggyDabbyDank You be the judge of that, I suppose 🤷♂️
You don't have to steal a horse in Talmberg. You can take the one you rode into town with.
Yes but personally I loved pick the Rodgard's horse.
I jumped off the bridge to the castle
You guys steal a horse? I just run
Pebbles blows and is the worst horse in the game stat wise
I was also going to say the same thing when I saw that in the video. I was like, "But the horse you rode in on, is there!" So yes, take the horse that you came with so you can avoid the theft fine.
This is mostly great advice. Just a few alterations/suggestions of my own:
1) You're better off losing to Kunesh, sneaking inside his house, and looking at is locked chest.
Steven Lepire thank you for the help I'm gonna try it in my own walkthrough
@@cass1101 well it is a year old vid and comment some things still work others dont trial and error
@@cass1101 it does work. They're hard to knock out. Sometimes they resist. I'd recommend saving before you attempt to knock anyone out.
I’m lazy to read
You can just store the loot in any boxe you see
@@Florent3753 I encountered a bug (or feature?) two years ago where the items inside boxes will reset along with any items on the surface of tables and such.
3. Carry Kunesh to a area that's out of the way
4. Stab and/or shoot him with your weapon.
Kunesh is essential so he can't die. You can level just by poking him and/or shooting him.
disarray82 Yeah, I leveled to max by beating him for one hour
Omg this! Gamers minds overcome all developers dreams..
but how can you chocke a guard? specially in early game i couldnt, they always stopped me
AK reaper you can. You can't let the guard see you first. Stealth walk all the way hehind them
AK reaper You might wanna try boosting your strength as long as you feel fairly decent at combat every time you get ambushed while fast traveling stop and kill them don't hit ignore it's a waste of free xp also once you hit sneak level five you'll be able to assassinate people as long as you have a dagger in your inventory
"Alchemy is really not that great" that is if you want to spend all your money on savior schnapps or use the unlimited save mod.
Just keep picking all the items with good weight/price ratio and sell them to the swordsmith/armorsmith/tailor of Rattay.
agreed alchemy is fantastic
After a while of playing, you have stacked up 10k+ grochens, full equipment and a bunch of repair kits. Money really isn't a thing anymore.
I knocked out the Executioner at Rattay and the sword he has is amazing. I'm 11 hours in and I'm still using it.
What are the stats if you can remember? Better than the 72/72 St. George's?
he has a piercer and no its not better than the st georges.
Daf that sucks
The Wanderer it's only in the 50's if I remember. I haven't really tried to look for a better sword cuz it's fine what I have tbh
Stinger has the best stab dame, if you wanna use that unlock trick stab, you should try it.
Wow, this is just insane. The amount of information for the best start possible in the game is tremendous. Big thanks! You have earned a sub

The legend of Giantdad will never die!
I cannot watch the whole video because I don't want to see too many spoilers, hope there is enough R1 spamming to justify a GD pic
Horse inventory is only accessible for the escape sequence, and I believe it's all lost the moment you get to Talmberg.
You take no reputation hit for razing skallitz before the cumans get there.
Also, when you leave Talmburg to sneak back to Skalitz, you can rent a room at the inn and get access to the storage chest, just dump all your stuff in there rather than all over the road (and avoid the trip back to get it). Honestly the 2 silver is worth it.
At 10:22 you can take the horse you took to rattay, so you don't have to steal a horse :)
in my game the horse is gone, his staple spot is empty :\
ICKA ICKA somehow the horse is completely gone in my game so I have to steal one :(
Travis letchford same :/ was a massive fight to get out on a stolen horse 😅
Just kill all the guards, then you can knock out every villager for their keys.
Exactly, the game will feel boring and lose any challenge very quickly. Might as well save time and just use cheat mods to achieve the same thing.
some of us are just munchkins like that.
+frost That potato reaction time is exactly what he is talking about. You actually need to learn the combat, not just stat up.
No need to steal the horse, use the one you 'own' from the prologue when you flee. You still lose it in the cut-scene but it means no fine.
This! You can take one of the horses without stealing :)
I don't pay fines.
But then you don't get nice armor to start the game off with. Steal it, steal all the things.
Ahh.. but if you actually follow The Wanderer's advice in this video, that's not gonna be a problem, is it?.. you'll already have far better armour than you can get in Talmberg.
JAFO I got caught stealing and they kicked me out...
GLAD YOU PUT THIS ON YOU TUBE I JUST GOT THIS AND WAS STUCK THROUGHOUT THE BEGINNING OF THE GAME AND HAD VERY LITTLE STRENGTH.
Alchemy isn't that great? It's the fastest way to make money once you have auto brew
Youre a god sir, thank you, the prologue pissed me off so much with the half-tutorials
I read about this technique on the reddit the other day. Excellent video as always sir.
yep, yep, and no. Definitely not overrated.
You can always try it for free, if you know what I mean
Not overrated! It needs work but jesus it's a fun game and really creates a sense of time and place.
just mad because your mom won't let ya buy it with her credit card? jesus christ my man it's got overwhelmingly positive reviews
Jonathan Lee agreed
It's good advice but with a start like this you're gonna have to get some higher difficulty mods, as the game becomes trivial with full armor and one-hit kills.
I never bought/made savior schnapps. I simply sleep in between missions.
Dropped everything in Rovna like you said, went back and it was all gone. balls.
6:06 I tried the whole 90 degrees turn away with the Cuman solider, but it kept on failing to work.
Who's ERB?
Thank you so much for this video! My first playthrough is just total garbage. I'm going to restart and try your methods out. You are the best, seriously!
Ended up looting all the herbs etc, then read the comments and decided to kill a guard with stealth...
I died without saving :( RIP herb grind

I have just started playing this yesterday and honestly, the flower picking is the best tip I have seen so far. Easy money starting off.
How to kill first encounter cuman. crouch thrust, press circle, walk backwards. Repeat. There...
Two rather big tips you missed:
When you are awoken in Talmberg most of the garrison will be on the battlements awaiting you and your cutscene.
Both covered in the updated version, thanks though!
Ah they've patched the loot drop, once I travelled back it was all gone
Pro tip: win the fight with your First Cuman™️ by getting up on the rocky outcrop right next to you. Use elavation, constant headstrikes with your sword = profit
Is there a possibility to beat the big black guy
Nope, it's scripted. He has infinite HP and is still unblockable.
The Wanderer Thanks a lot. Btw great video.
I did some testing with my kunesh pushed toon, he is immortal at this point, no way to kill him
He can be blocked. I blocked him 2 times when the fight started but then I had no stamina left to block a third...
Ya me too! I fast traveled back right after I woke up in Rattay, all my loot GONE! I guess we slow walked all that loot for nothin, bummer!
Same for me. All my shit was gone!!!
I wonder if it has to do with the fact that I logged off and came back the the following day after work; maybe the stuff remains if you immediately go back after.
Yes it probably disappears with a save and quit then reloading the game
Scratch that idea, I just did it again and went back immediately and it was all gone. Maybe they patched it?
There is a road north of skalitz that leads you to the end of the map, just before you reach the end of the map there is an abandoned camp on the left with an open chest filled with a lot of the best endgame armored and weapons. You're welcome.
So much powergaming my brain hurts
When picking flowers in the beginning look for wormwood. Theres a decent amount and it goes for .9 and with the botanist perk, under herbalism, they sell for 1.5 groschens.
"erb"
"erbelism"
You may pronounce the h. It's not silent.
Ah, leave the poor American alone. 😂
Could you please upload your save somewhere?
Next video that I do will have an even better version with the save on it.
The Wanderer Cool, thanks
when i was doing the ginger in a pickle quest. i ran into this dude when i was looking for the bandits that were searching for ginger. we argued because there was a dead deer on the road. i just let em go and when he turned around, i shot em with a villager ash bow i stole from talmberg. he had a bow called the "trial" bow and it did 52 damage i think. and it didnt require any agility or strength
You like to play it your own way but didnt figure out how to whistle?..
Anjayl
When did I say anything of the sort?
If you buy a Ferrari and drive it off into the hills, Ferrari still got their money.
Now a few tips:
*DO NOT* talk to father when you do the morning intro talk with mother and level up your Speech twice.
Well so basicly just vacuum everything
If you take flower power perk before you sell any herbs, (herbology 4) you get 0.6g as opposed to 0.5g for sage which adds up.
Wait wait wait, the stolen flag wears off? Literally no other TH-cam has said that that I've heard. Good tip if true.
The stolen flag definitely wears off. I stealth kill guards and loot all their good gear. I then stash the gear in my personal chest and go to jail. When I get out of jail, the stolen tag has always worn off.
Yeah the stolen flag wears off anywhere from 3-5 days (I never really counted, so not 100% sure)
Excellent vid, no time wasting nattering and really useful tips. Thank you, I've subbed.
Why can’t some people pronounce the ‘H’ in HERB? The ‘H’ is what makes it a plant... an ‘Erb’ is nothing?
Riv Filmer the H is silent
Yes... I worked that one out. However, the 'H' shouldn't be silent.
It just depends where you are from. Americans tend to treat the 'H' as a silent letter, whereas the UK pronounce it as a hard 'H'
you mean the US has it silent, the rest of the world pronounce it as it should be?
Dave Stigter the rest of the world is wrong, as usual
Half of these tips are immersive, considering Henry’s personality, and the rest are silly and/or reprehensible
Thx for making the vid, at any rate
Herbalism herbalism herbalism.... "insert smoke weed everyday meme"
Thanks for the guide. I must've picked every dam herb in that town, ended up with 17 herbalism and 6 strength just from picking
Play with kumans armory? No thanks :D
Great guide. I did some of that last night before I learned of this. But yeah herbalism and alchemy is a great way to make money. You dont have to steal the horse. You have you own horse there.
great guide on how to completely ruin the game for youself!
Do "Best possible way to read a book: Read the ending first!" next!
You can also get to level 17 Herbalism.
Without fighting anyone, you can get to 4 Strength just with Leg Day and the Sword Training Lesson.
Wow every other RPG made us all thieving bastards, it really makes game less immersive.
I played this RPG no differently. Hal the Murderhobo, reporting for another excuse to murder everyone and steal everything.
Ap0Kal1ps3 the secret ending should be the regular ending.
You can find St. Georges sword VERY early on. Best sword i've found yet
Lol why steal a horse when u can just reuse the one you got early that way it's not stealing
Have you even wandered around in your life , to bear this name , you must have had wandered.....
Urbs? Urbalism?
Dave McMillan saviour schnops? schnops?
1) Choke out a few random people (don't take keys)
2) Choke out a guard with a halberd take it and drop it somewhere private
3) Choke out Kunesh and take his body somewhere private
4) Spam attack with the halberd on Kunesh's unconscious body (this levels strength, vitality, and agility).
You get knocked of the horse after the first hit. Your guide isn't very helpfull anymore.
I think Warhorse Studio looked at this video and went "nerf that, that, that, and that" 😀 . I'm glad, it makes this a better game.
I did kill some while riding but the archers hit very good sadly.
You can get the St. George's sword from Hans Capon during his bathhouse quest. You can just steal it and let it sit inside your chest until the stolen tag gets removed. (If you don't want to cheat your way by exploiting that chest with the endgame gear).
Really wish I watched this a week and a half ago. Great video.
you can take the armor and kill a guard when they call you to the battlements. Stall all the later patrols.
Why did they make it so difficult to grab items. Like in fallout you just get close enough and you can pick it up easy. In this game you have to be in specific angle to pick items up. Is there a fix for this? Cause stealing is nerve racking when you can't find that sweet spot were the "pick up" option shows.
at the start of the game i was told in game that you couldnt bandage yourself until sir robard showed you how to do it.
You my friend have just earned yourself another sub
When your in Talmberg you could've put everything in the chest next to your lodging bed. Also you don't have to steal a horse in Talmberg you can grab the horse that got you to Talmberg.
There was a chest?
You can't ride horse when over encumbered now.
But you can drop all loot at Tamlberg inn. Rent room and you can use chest.
Here's how you get your best start (2022-05-06):
Get herbalism to lvl 10, then get the perk for the strength.
Nice Video man, it was really helpful. You just earned yourself a new subscriber. Keep up the good work :)
Spend about a good hour picking herbs made good amount of money did know about the rest so thanks 😁
The game is downloading and I’m definitely going to do this! Thanks so much!!
I think you can also get free archery lessons by paying him and stealing it back later.
the horse you rode to talmberg is there in the keep you dont need to steal
I usely go with that but for the stealing. If you pick a plant perk it will also build up your strength leg power you build two or three strength.
yes, the horse thing is what i did too, and then i kept hitting the baker's mire, that thing trained everything to max lol half hour tops.
I picked over 700 nettles in first town. If you sell these and buy these to a shop, you can make around 7 groch each time you buy and sell by haggling. no need to pick any other flowers but those. It will take some time tho
