I believe he's deviated from classic trance and is going in a pop direction--like Tiesto. I, too, miss Armin's old style of music (e.g. Gaia tracks, Live for that Energy).
He still do trance. Last year he released a whole trance album, Asot Forever and part 2 is coming soon he said. I like that he not only do trance but also explore new sound. That make him a great producer that think outside the box.

Been a fan of Armin since communication i believe it was early 2000, Armins' sound matured and was dropping trance anthems all the time, i couldn't keep up, of course i became a fan of asot and i love most of the tracks but like everything thats natural, we get older,slower and more nostalgic to the past but not Armin he has moved on to new ventures new sounds for a new generation.. am I or am I not a fan of his new style, thats not important i only hope that his new sound brings countless memories to the new generation as he did for our generation.
I can't agree. In my opinion he is trying to please all kind of music lovers. If you go asot stage on some festival or listen to his who is afraid of 138 sets you will see that he still loves and produces trance songs. Unfortunately not all of them are so good as most of the all time classics. For example he came to Bulgaria two weeks ago and none of this commercial music was part of his set - 3 hours of trance.
I think he has been fdropping this "summer hits" with a more pop-dance vibes but he has been giving the classic Trance sessions at live concerts. I guess he can experiment because you know, artists evolve and those things (and even they get tired of the same sounds)
As we all know Armin is well known as Trance King but not only in Trance he can give many more genres of edm and whichever he gives he makes it a complete quality music with his years experience.
