Good looking room but that seating looks like something you’d find in the waiting room of an office building. Those look like the most uncomfortable sofas I’ve ever seen.
His chairs came in and he didn't like the color so he sent them back ...they are getting delivered this week...Two full rows of 3. : ). He just put it in there for now. I had to shoot when I could being it's 5 hours away
So I should have said this I gues but his chairs didn't come in yet...lol. He put a couch in there for now. They were the wrong color so he sent them back....they are getting delivered like this week. Sucks I couldn't take pics like that..yes two rows.
It's the screen height I'd always choose...even a little lower. But not always possible. The next video it's taller than I'd like...But the room made it be higher
Unreal install! But why a “slate” screen in a perfect light controlled room and with a jvc projector that already does dark black very well as confirmed with your lux meter. (You see, I am paying attention, eh?) As I understand it, a 1.0 gain screen treats black and white equally. A darkened screen favours more black over white which is what you would want in a room with light bleed from windows etc. Also curious as to the - distance - from the back wall to the screen? Looking forward to your lux tests for the upcoming projectors.
it depends, I had a slate screen for a while and remember the contrast was unbelievable even in light controlled rooms. I now have a Seymour XD AT and while it's a very nice screen, you don't get the same contrast even with an NZ8. Also, being an AT screen there aren't really any that measure 1.0 gain, the manufacture specs are VERY misleading unless you're going perf i.e. Stewart which do, but those open up another can of worms with speaker placement etc.
@ I have been waiting two years until JVC provided a laser for its budget projector (now called the x500) . . . and it will be available soon to replace my aging Sony 285es. Your comment is apropos as I also have a sample of the Seymour XD that I am considering (and still considering the Slate AT as well.) Does your Seymour screen have a black backing? It is available if ordered.
I’ve pre sold 7 x500 already. Going to be amazing. Let me know if I can ship you one. Watch my video on AT screens… ALR screens etc. reach out through my site if I can help more
Subs aren't closed you can use LFE from your pre amp to add any subs. Sometimes I do both Theory and LFE...The Theory subs didn't fit in this cavity. Plus I love JL
Hi, this theater is awesome! May I know if you are using 1x DLC250.4d unit for 2 Theory sb25 here, or you use it for 4x sb25? you are powering each sb25 here with 125watt from the DLC250 amps (1 amp channel), or you drive it with 250w from the DLC (2 amp channels using it's power sharing feature)?
Super clean install, I lover the lighting panels. Question, I think you reviewed or had the NZ8 before, do you see a noticeable difference between the NZ8 and 800? I got the NZ8 this year at a closeout (new) for roughly half the cost.
How many nits in HDR are you getting and what's the gain on screen and how far is MLP from screen? I'm assuming no screen artifacts are visible from MLP?
I didn't test that at all as I don't like HDR....The NZ800 reads 387Lux at white on full..... .8 Lux . By far the most I read of the ones I've tested. I'll do a video about it at some point when I have time.
Can you explain the logic of using a grey screen vs white in a dedicated room with such a powerful projector? I thought grey screens were more for ambient light situations. Surely a top of the range white screen would give you punchier highlights (at 1.0-1.1 gain), and with the NZ800 you're not going to sacrifice those deep blacks?
My ALR screen video explains it...please watch. But the "logic" based in fact is that you cannot get black from a white screen with light on it in any environment. YOu sacrifice deep blacks by using a white screen and a projector that doesn't make black. Watch the video.
@@TheaterAdvice_FCAV Well yeah, I'd watched that before, and you even state at the start in that video that in a FULLY light controlled room with no reflections, white is best. You don't need a million dollars to do that. The most important area is around the screen itself. This is very achievable, even on a budget. It just takes a bit of time, knowledge and skill. And if someone is buying a projector like the NZ800, to not control reflections in room is beyond stupid, because you can obviously afford it. I just don't get it. Unless someone likes reflections and ignores the advice to control them. It's like nah, I want to prioritise the desired aesthetic of my room over the actual use case for it. Each to their own, but this is straight up nuts.
@@frangipani-dreams I don't say it's best ever....as I don't believe it's best. ALR in EVERY room IMO looks better from a contrast standpoint. This room does have some reflective surfaces anyway. What I say in the video is that a White screen in the perfect environment "can" look good but will still suffer to a good ALR screen in blacks since the projector cannot produce blacks. I would take a black diamond sample in ANY room in any condition and show the blacks look infinitely better .....The slate is the perfect in between. I dont care what the room looks like...a white screen with light on it...and yes there is still light on it...in any room illuminates the white. I do what's best for my clients and they ALL agree because I show the difference.
@@TheaterAdvice_FCAV I'm just quoting you from that video, and you say ""with no reflection, in a dark room, a white screen is probably the best screen, if you have the lights off"". Yet you've just said it would suffer to a good ALR screen. So which is it? It makes perfect sense to me that a white screen would be best in the perfect environment, because of how good the likes of the JVC does with blacks. YMMV with other projectors of course. With an ALR screen, and a projector as good as the NZ800, you'd be giving up brightness when you don't need to. As to your point about the type of room most people have, I agree MOST people don't have rooms like that, but it's not THAT hard to achieve, if you want to do it. And if you're building a custom room from scratch, it certainly doesn't cost a fortune to design your room with this in mind. But it all comes down to priorities at the end of the day - some people understandably don't want black velour and curtains everywhere. I can certainly see many situations where an ALR screen would be best suited, it just seems to me that if you COULD design a room without restriction and for no reflections, why wouldn't you? Your other video is in a room with considerable reflections, so while your example there is compelling, it's in a room with obvious reflections from light walls.
I feel like I already said which it is multiple times. I believe a slate screen will look better than a white screen in any environment. So will a black diamond. I think you have a chance of making a white screen look pretty good in a very dark room however it would still not be what I choose. Or I would own it since I can literally own anything on earth pretty much. I only do white screens when budget does not allow for a better one. Also, even in the commercial theater, which is fully light controlled they don’t use white screens. It is literally called the silver screen. Lastly I am not losing any brightness. These screens are 1.2 or 1.4 gain. They are brighter than a white screen in almost any case. And I would give up a little brightness that I don’t care about anyway for contrast all day. So would almost everybody else. Hence the reason people buy OLED TVs.
I love their on walls..with all the panels I thought they'd look cool and then don't have to paint them since they come in black. Their on walls look great. Also easier to take if he moves.
It's not that close and it actually intakes in the rear and Vents out the front. Plenty of space behind to intake air. Both vents in front ...Mine is even in a hole and works fine because of it. So I was careful.

Well done 👏🏼👍🏼✊🏼✌🏼 to you and your crew 🏴🇬🇧
I appreciate it.
@ You’re welcome 🏴🇬🇧
Thanks for the video. I also got some new ideas. Greetings from Turkey. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Awesome thanks sir
“No reverb here at all” you definitely want some reverb, even for a movie Theater!
There is a mix of reflection and absorbtion points. Room sounds great.
Good call on the JVC! I always lose respect when I see a projector that costs less than the seating!
It's the best. And the seating didn't get delivered yet when I traveled to the job lol. It's nic too : )
Awesome install and setup!
Thanks so much,
Simply beautiful…. Great work😎👍
Thanks so much.
Awesome space
Thanks Brother.
Looks great. With all that speaker coverage will they be adding another row of seating on the riser? Maybe I missed that.

Great system.. You ned to hoover a bit though.. it seems that you got quite a lot of dust...
Was right after construction. not sure I saw a lot of dust but im sure there is
Props on the appropriate screen height

Awesome thanks for watching.
Looks nice. How's the comfort of that couch? Nice that it isn't high backed.
Two rows of badass chairs on the way. They came in late but I had to shoot when I could since it's 5 hours away.

We are actualloy using 4....of the 250.4 amps because they were out of the 8ch

No they are very close. Great projector
What’s the screen size ratio?
HI...I said it wrong it's a 157. Always 16x9

supper duper like , two more subs at the back will be awesome , it will also help if one more row added in future, thanks for sharing
See description. The chairs were delayed. Thee is two rows
What is the room length?
& is the riser for another row of seating?
Yes chairs deliver this week. they are late. Two rows. Room is 20 Deep.
