  • From my father's Regular 8mm films, here is the practice, and maybe qualifying, day for the Rex Mays 300 USAC Indy Car Race at the Riverside International Raceway. This was filmed the day after Thanksgiving in 1967 with my father's $8 movie camera ($69.00 in 2020), as they prepared for the big race day on November 26, 1967.

    What do you use to transfer the film to digital video?

      Currently, I use a Zoli FSSX-D8-102 film scanner from Ventura Images in Canada. The earlier transfers were done with a multiplex transfer system from Focuskye in Michigan.

      @@Pittsburghestatesale Their newer models don't touch the film, but are very expensive. See if you can get one of their models like I have, if they are still available. venturaimages.com/

      @@8mmfilmarchive34 They don't have much information on their website, I posted a message on their facebook post. Too bad they didn't combine the 8 and 16mm on to one machine. I was looking into the moviestuff scanner as well, which has interchangeable gates but I had never heard of this company.
