- American Christine Welch sang a new version of the Chinese pop song "A Million Possibilities," with lyrics inspired by works of ancient Chinese philosopher Zhuangzi, on the TV show "Everlasting Classics." Welch, who is in a PhD program for Chinese Literature and Culture at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, has been writing and singing in Mandarin for years.

first part of the lyrics was written by a well known philosopher at least 2500 years ago, the second part was written by the greatest poet in Chinese history who lived 1500 year ago. and Christine wrote the third part and made this a perfect song.
Which one is first, second, and third part?
Happy Jade Birch The first part is literally the beginning of the song. The second part starts at about 1:47. Her own lyrics are the chorus and the part starting at 3:17. She starts quoting Zhuanzi, the author of the first part, again during the fast part/rap during the bridge, and she finishes the song by quoting Li Bai, the author of the second part (you can see at the end when she starts quoting Li Bai, the Chinese characters turn gold).

Can't find a proper word to describe how amazing Christine is, just perfect! For people who don't know the context because it's written in Chinese, as an American girl she wrote the lyrics all by herself in which she quoted ancient Chinese philosopher Zhuangzi (even as a Chinese I have to rely on the English version lyrics to understand the exact meaning...), and the Chinese lyrics are written so beautifully that its poetic beauty just fits the melody. She can't get it so perfectly if she doesn't have the deep understanding of the original Zhuangzi. Even more, in this version, she added Rap to the song and the wording in her Rap part is written in ancient Chinese style and that's just awesome, not to mention how perfectly match the ancient Chinese wording is with the rhythm of the Rap!
