Occy looks so much younger since you have moved! Happy you are keeping a positive mindset. This is a blessing in disguise. The cabin was the previous owner’s dream. Now you get to actualize yours!
You poor little bugger ... watching you move all your stuff on your own .... truly made me really feel for you ! Yet you are your usual calm, positive, lovely self. So proud of you .... I know it has become a bigger project for you than anticipated .. but now you will truly know the bones of your home ... not a bad thing to know. Big hug to you and that muddy, lazy, gorgeous boy !
Most people, myself included may have allowed all these MAJOR set backs overwhelm and depress us. But you powered through with a good attitude. What an inspiration it was to watch how you handled this. It was a reminder to me not to give up, even when it's hard. Thank-you. God bless you and Occy. ❤
Don't sell yourself short. I'm sure you would've risen to the occasion. After all, we can't change what's done, only how we deal with it and move forward 💛
On top of everything you were up against, you took the time to create a fantastic video for us. “What have I done?” “It is the journey!” Hugs to you and Occy❤
Max! Asbestos is a nightmare, but on the positive side, you now have a safe healthy blank canvas to turn into your dream home. Also you have unearthed all the issues in the structure, so you can plan for all of these at the outset , rather than find them cropping up and thwarting your plans as you go. Great to see you staying positive and thanks for sharing! Take care! ❤
Exactly! No one *wants* this to happen, but since the asbestos was there, this was a best-case scenario that he got it out of there early on and now has a safer frame to build on.
A blessing in disguise! Now you can SEE ALL the issues and fix them! Plus, the entire house will now be ALL of what YOU want it to be! 😁 And it's awesome to see how happy Occy is in his home, roof or no roof❣️🐾❤️
@@MaxandOccy Hi Max I used to watch you for a couple of years then life changed (new place to live, new job) n I stopped watching stuff so much on TH-cam.Found you again about 3 weeks ago binged watched and caught up with your journey. I've never commented before .I just wanted to let you know ... Your a smart, strong, young, capable guy and this is just the storm before the calm....you're going to learn n grow so much and have a beautiful home at the end of it all 🙂 I'm sorry this has happened Max but you couldn't have lived in the place with asbestos, termite damage n mould! That could've all potentially have made you ill. Be good to yourself take breaks, have good rests... your back will thankyou,( do your yoga stretches) meditate to keep the overwhelm at bay. (I've been into meditation 19 years,it's saved my sanity !) LOL 😃 when you spoke about Occys attitude loving the house even with no roof on...good old Occy lightening the moment 🥰 Take care Max and please be careful on the roof... sending you 🕊💕🌞🙏 from the NE 🌊coast 🌊Scotland 🏴
You were looking for a name for your property in an earlier video. I know it hasn't been burnt down, but it looks similar now it's roofless, and it's certainly going to rise again, as if from the ashes - maybe something with Phoenix in the name might be appropriate? I hope you can find some help with all of this work but do have faith that it will be better than ever now you know the true bones of the building and I'm glad the asbestos is gone if it could have been dangerous to your health. Good luck with the rebuild, I'm along for the journey. (I'd even offer to come and help but I'm on the other side of the world in England!)
@@MaxandOccy I think we all would have liked to be "roofers," for you ! And Builders. Electricians, Plumbers, Glaziers, Designers, Kitchen and Bathroom Builders/Designers ! Now I can do most of the gofor jobs and I am a mean cook to boot. So many skilled people have seen what you are needing ... wish we could all be there to help you !
You've got this, Max! And remember--you are always giving selflessly to others. There are TONS of people that would happily help you out with this project. We know you can do it by yourself--but you don't have to. 💚
This is a blessing in disguise. You would have spent years hunting down all the issues with the house. This way you know your building is safe and solid for years to come. You are more than up for this challeng👍🏼👏
I was diagnosed with a nasty autoimmune disease. I lived in a home that had asbestos. Honestly, it's a blessing that you actually did this because you could have spent a fortune, yes, but worse, you could have been exposed as well as family and friends. I bought a home that worked hard and grew a beautiful vegetable garden ,but neighbour's up hill sprayed their lawns with insecticide and pesticides and landed on my garden. I was canning vegetables and popped a snap pea into my mouth, and burned my tongue. 9 of us were diagnosed with autoimmune diseases, and I had fibromyaglia and CRPS. I quit all chemicals, processed foods, deodorants, and eat organic ,100% no chemicals. A family member had been getting migraines for yrs and severe allergies, so they had to get allergy needles. Since I quit using the nasty laundry detergent and bounce sheets, he's off all allergy needles and no more migraines. I have reduced my pain by 85% just from eliminating garbage. I also did this with toxic people, and my health has never been better. I'm so happy that you caught this in time because I've lost 3 younger siblings, and toxic garbage is all around us. Well done. Rather, be poor and happy than have pain and suffering.
Leave your fridge and freezer doors open to allow air to circulate in your fridge in the shipping container. If you don’t, it will grow black mould and stink with a smell that is extremely hard to remove.
LEMON JUICE AND BICARONATE OF SODA OR BAKING PWDER SOME PEOPLE CALL IT BUT THE BICARD MIXED WITH THE LEMONS WILL FIZ PUT IT ON AND LEAVE IT FOR AN HOUR THEN RINSE WITH HOUSEHOLD SALT TO REMOVE FIRST COAT THEN WIPE DOWN TWICE WITH HOTTISH CLEAN WATER TWICE YOU WILL HAVE A FRIDGE THAT IS FREE FROM HIDDEN GERMS BE AS WHITE CLEAN INSIDE AND THE SMELL IS WONDERFUL
I can’t imagine how stressful this has had to have been for you Max!! You have such a great attitude though. You are such an inspiration! Your video editing and drone work was exceptional as always. Hang in there, you’ve got this!!
You can sense the anxiety rolling off you. Don't let it get you, buddy. I'm in the middle of a cabin renovation and, while I didn't have asbestos (thankfully), once the cabin was gutted it opened up my mind to what was possible. Rooting for you boys.
If you think I was anxious in this one wait until the next one... Today has been a day 😅 Still very positive that all this will be for the best in the long run. You should see my plans for the cabin now! Good luck with your reno 🙌🏼
Max, I love how you stay positive! Good luck with the renovations, I look forward enjoying watching you and Oc making this place more and more your home. Greetings and love from the Netherlands ❤❤
Max - I understand what you are going through. I bought a 120-year-old bungalow about 10 years ago and decided to gut it by myself. Yep - as a single woman, working full time with no building experience. I learned a lot - one of the biggest things I learned is to add 30% to any bid I got. Because, in a house that old, there were always things that came up I didn't plan for. It will work out, it's just really frustrating sometimes. Sending you a virtual hug.
Hey Max! Both my parents died of lung cancer from asbestos exposure so if you take that into consideration then it's a really good thing you discovered it early on in the renovation process. It's SO worth doing for your health! And Occy too! Be well sweet Man and be happy. Much love always. ❤️😘
Max, my dad died in 2000 from Mesothelioma cancer which is caused from asbestos. Thank God you got it checked. Please make sure the air and everything is tested before you go back in. Scares me to death. My dad worked in a boiler room packing the boilers and pipes with asbestos. It was a horribly, painful death even though he fought to live every second. I am so proud of him and I will love that man forever. He was my best friend and I miss him. Be safe and kiss Occy for me. I love that boy he has a heart of gold like his daddy. :)
Our mantra during our reno was "no problems, only solutions" 😊 It took us 10 years but we were working full time and did everything ourselves. We only worked on the house in the cooler months and had summers off to enjoy holidays. It will be SO overwhelming some days Max but it will also be SO worth it! We are all cheering you on 🔨🔨🔨 Hugs to you and Oc ❤❤❤
Good thing you still have the van. As for Occy being in the way, well, he’s keeping you alert and on your toes. You have a massive job ahead of you, but you and Occy will pull through. By the way, love the editing job.
“The greater the obstacle, the more glory in overcoming it” is cliche but true. I truly believe everything happens for a reason even tho we likely do not understand why at the moment. What you’re facing may seem overwhelming but you’ve already proven that you’re the right man for the job. We’re all here cheering for you and Occy because you deserve the beautiful life you’re creating there. Thank you for sharing your journey. You’ve got this.🌺
@@MaxandOccyyou’re very welcome. Not sure how I missed the snakes on the roof the first time watching! Reason #1 revealed itself immediately! We def want you & Occy safe.
Hello Max 26:47 Occy is such a wonderful teacher - his joy at being with his most precious human, back home (minus roof!) is all that matters to him ❤ Max - we are all here for you 150%! Live in the moment - may you be both well and happy always 🙏🙏🙏
What an opportunity to start fresh! This is a REALLY GOOD, bad thing to happen! You get to start from basically scratch with new electrical and mechanical, insulation, plumbing, and make sure the framing is good no bugs or rotten wood! With the van for backup housing!
It’s seems like a setback now, but it’s really a blessing that you and Occy will now have a safe HEALTHY place to live and prosper. We can’t always see around the bends in the road, but your positive attitude and energy will win the journey❤
Occy is like a cat marking his territory with his body. I love how he rubs up against all the walls. He is definitely someone to take some lessons from. Thank goodness you found out before you put a bunch more work into the house! Clean Slate baby! It will be fantastic and a double bonus no more snakes in your ceiling!
Life is full of challenges, but you got this. Occy was so cute enjoying the open air home. He is a good moral booster. Fortunately you have the van as a home while you build your new home. And what's the rush? Enjoy the journey. 🥰🐶
Hey Max, I’m a roofer living up in Brisbane. There is a lot of things involved in that job that take a long time to learn so might not go great on a first try. Feel free to message me with any questions if you get stuck. And I’d honestly recommend paying someone to scribe your ridge, because if it isn’t done right on that pitch, that’s how you can get leaks and leaves in there that will increase fire risks. Good luck mate.
Well handled Max. It was a given that there would be some big obstacles. Pleased that there is no structural wood rot or foundation damage. You've got a clean slate. What you build from here is yours. I watched you build your van. I have no doubt you are capable of it but get the help you need when you need it. Loving watching the process. Hang in there you've found a great adventure.
It's a blessing in disguise Max. All the problems are, literally, exposed & you get to start from a clean slate - how can it get any better than that! Much love & anticipation for the adventure ahead. One job at a time, one day at a time, gets you to your destination. You've got this
I suspect you'd planned upgrading/renovating, room by room, and this is more than a little overwhelming. And yet, I honestly think the end result is going to be amazing. My husband and I watched your van build, and were inspired by the beautiful results. We're so glad you have the van and Occy as a home base for the next little while during the roof install and the essentials so you can move back into your new home. We're with you all the way! As a silly aside, and a compliment to your editing, when I first saw the second doppelganger, I thought 'oh, look, one of Max's friends showed up to help...' And then I realized you just do the work of 3 or 4 men! Bless you and Occy!
I really admire your positive attitude, and while things are overwhelming, you are certainly handling it like a champ! Take your time, enjoy the process - and a huge thank you with so much gratitude for taking us along for this ride with you. Big hugs to you and Occy ♥
I’ve been following your life’s journey for six years. I’m the one with severe depression with suicidal thoughts nearly every day. I want to thank you for mentioning mental health problems and also to wish you and Occy the best as you move forward in life. Blessings, LaCurtis PS: Great editing on this video!!
What an excellent opportunity to start from scratch and make your home exactly how you want it. So easy with a clean slate to see all the issues that need addressing now and not be found at a later stage when it’s more difficult and more time consuming to fix. When you’re done, you’ll have a lovely solid home that’ll last you for many many years. Out of the rubble will rise a star. 👍
Grateful you have the container to store your goodies and a van to stay in. Nothing to it but to do it. Great attitudes lead to quick work. 🧘🏻🙏🌎☮️ Daily✌🏻
Challenging yourself? Now there's an understatement!!! Holy. Cow. 😳 Well, we all believe in the power of Max & Occy!!! You got this, and the end result will be 100x better than before. ❤
Max, it is a setback but now you know exactly what is good and wrong in the cabin. You will be able to make it a beautiful home for you and Occy, I'm sure of it. It is just sad that I live to far to come and help you.
Aw Max, I’ve been so run down with months of inpatient hospital stays, but watching you do this this morning has me also feeling stronger and more “gratitude focused”. You’ve got this buddy! Hope you and Occ slept well after launching this vid last night 🫶🏼 Doing a “No rain” dance for you 😅
Max, you are one hard working man and I love how Occy “helps”, he is the best. You are such a positive soul. Best of luck with your asbestos removal and unplanned renovations. Keep your chin up 😊
Oh my gosh ! I know it was a horrible, unexpected expense, but asbestos is nothing to mess with. I went into a bit of panic mode, as my Husband passed away from Mesothelioma, a type of cancer caused from exposure to Asbestos. Back in they day he did renovations to houses and his Dad was a Builder that worked with materials that contained asbestos. Anyway, glad you have such a great attitude. Here for you !! Occy is such a cutie !! 😊❤
I just watched this video and was hoping to see at least one comment about the dangers of asbestos. I can understand why you went into a bit of panic mode since someone close to you passed from Mesothelioma. Old homes, before the changes in policies occurred with Asbestos products, are scary, to say the least. I'm glad Max had to get rid of it all as it truly is a blessing in disguise.
The upside is you got your shipping container in time to be able to store everything in it; AND you have your home on wheels to bide your time with. I see that as two important blessings. Thirdly, you have your ever faithful compadre Occy by your side for support. This may all feel like a huge hurdle, but like all things, this too shall pass. You’ve got this Max. You’re a pro at figuring stuff out, I have every faith in you! Good luck (from Croatia).
One day the memories of the journey will make the finished product all the more beautiful. But do remember to take some time to relax and recharge along the way xx Loved the kookaburra shot/transition too 👌🏻
You are so right to try to keep a positive attitude. It’s best to view this as demolition done, everything revealed so no “surprises” left and all the demolition debris is gone. I believe in you! You’ve got this! Many hugs to you and Occy 🤗
I think the previous owner was happy to sale you this property because he knew of all the asbestos and the termites problems in the house!!! the best thing was to tear everythin down and rebuilt better... you will make it!! KEEP GOING ON!!
My God Max you are one hard worker ! Also, your positive attitude is so admirable under these tough circumstances ! Your cabin is going to be like brand new after all the renovations. Thank you for taking us along on your journey. P.S. Your editing skills are amazing ! ❤ from Nova Scotia Canada 🇨🇦
@michellecrowe7063 hi from Sambro NS ❤️ and I totally agree with your comment. Not only is it the hard work Max is doing but the positive attitude towards the ups and downs. That’s hard during Reno’s for sure.
Clean slate Max! YOU GOT THIS! I have complete FAITH in you! You needed to do this unfortunately, but the rewards will be immeasurable 🥰 In ways you could never have imagined ❤️ Without you being aware you are becoming “Whole”. Wow… clearing it all away just makes your dream that much more inspiring …the possibilities are endless. YOU GOT THIS Max! I cant wait to see what come up with! Cheers my friend!
I'm laughing at when Occy came in like" this place is awesome" But with you being a "MASTER VAN CRAFTSMAN". You got this ..man. Thanks for sharing this part of you life.
And so the renovation begins! You will be rewarded through your hard work to make "your forest," a peaceful and inviting place to call home for YOU, Occy and the ones you cherish! Keep at it, You've got this, Max!👍
Take in every phase of your reno ... the good, bad & ugly. Photos are also advised. Our memories fade & looking back at all the work "we" (my husband) completed makes me so PROUD (and tired). U R doing it correctly ... even if its time consuming & hard, do the reno the correct way. This is not the time for short cuts & shoddy work! This is YOUR HOME! Good luck!
Blessing in disguise Max! This has exposed every nook and cranny now and you can deal with the termites and rotten boards etc. Your naked shell of a house frame is a fresh start for your cabin and it will be amazing soon enough with no hidden nastys like red belly blacks.
If anyone can YOU can. After the initial shock take a few breaths in order to refocus. Remember to laugh out loud, to ask for help along the way and keep in mind that this is your home that you are establishing. How exciting! And during the rough patches hold Occy close, have your cry and then get up and get on with it.
WOW! ...I am imagining 18.000 viewers in front of their screens going " OOOOOh....AAAAAH" 🙈😃 Yap! This project would definitely seem pretty overwhelming to me too....and at the same time, Look at all that wonderful potential!! 🥰 I mean this place already lookes like paradise! Just imagine how much more beautiful and totally tailored to your wants and needs it's going to be once it's done! 🤗 ...Plus this "little" problem in itelf just created looots more oportunity for exciting content on your channel. My hopes for you is that the level of overwhelm and work will equal the level of joy and satisfaction once your done....or ideally along the way already! Much love from Germany. ps: Not sure if you dyed your hair or I never noticed before or it's just happening as of late, But I Love the grey hair 😉😘
You've got this Max! At least now you have discovered all the problem areas in the house, and you will build it back better, stronger and have a huge sense of pride in what you have accomplished. Your house will really feel like your home after this. Occy doesn't care less, he's just happy to be with you no matter the circumstances.
Max, be kind to yourself. I know you may not see this as a blessing but it actually is. Now you are able to get your bathroom remodel done and you are assured that the rest of the house is solid. Take tiny bites of the remodel. Roof, bathroom and running water in the kitchen are your basic necessities. From there just chew away at it. Little by little you will make it your own. Can't wait for the next one. Hugs to Occy.
Max, you are a hero. In so many ways, you give so many people inspiration and encouragement. This will be a clean slate and a “new beginning”. Like you said, you and Occy plan on being there a long time, so this will all be worth it. I can’t wait until you start the rebuild and make it your own! You are so creative and the best is yet to come! Thank you for showing us, anything is possible🌻.
Much better to have discovered the asbestos before you began work and created dangerous dust. Your electrician really did you a favour. This will be a memory very soon and you will be secure that your home is safe. After watching you build your van, I have complete confidence in your ability to meet this challenge.
Just a man and his dog (best friend) showing us all how to just get on with it and keep moving forward😊 Occys happiness is addictive, can't help smiling 😂 Max no matter how much cost or work has to be done, it's ALL worth it mate😊 Plus your new roof will be sealed and snake free....being honest I freaked out when I saw them😮 You did amazing doing all that before asbestos guys turned up 👏 Stay safe sending hugs to you and Occy xxx
Emotional, physical, mental, this is as you said a journey . From across the world sending you and Occy calm, cool, collected vibes and super human strength for all the heavy lifting💗 thank you for brining us along Max!
On the last video uploaded I said that it'd probably be better just knocking it down and starting over. That's the problem with these old houses, there's always far more problems beneath the surface, and you end up spending way more than you expected to.
I'm sure it was difficult to hear about all of the asbestos and to see your home taken down to the studs. Thankfully, your home has good bones. Now you will know that your roof and walls are free of snakes and possibly other critters when the job is done. Also, having all that cancer causing asbestos is long gone 👍. It's just a bump in the road. You've got this! I look forward to watching you build your dream oasis! Be well! "Be kind to yourself" ❤
You’ve got this Max. Rather get all the problems sorted now so you start with a clean slate. It’s going to be awesome. Occy looks so relaxed and happy. So great to be part of your renovating journey.
Where I live (4,000'el) on the US/CA border it snows when it's supposed to be sunny, snows when it's suppose to be raining, snows when it's supposed to be spring, and even snows when it's supposed to be summer. We do get fantastic rainbows, though!
😊 Wow, your new journey is enthralling and fascinating. Occy absolutely loves the open roofed house, it appears to have completed reinvigorated him... You've got this Max!!!! 😊
Who would have thought that settling in to home life would be more exciting, entertaining and adorable (for viewers, maybe) than your adventurous van life. You and Occy are doing a fantastic job of it. One (albeit quite dangerous) snake as compared to 72 (good grief!) has to be a plus. Thoroughly enjoying your new venture, you seem to have everything under control, even if it isn't how you thought it would be. ❤
I think the clean slate is a blessing Max. You get to see exactly what you've got now, rot, termites, snakes, the lot 😂. Building your dream home from the ground up & making it truly yours. It's going to be great, can't wait to see what you do with it. You've got amazing skills, you've got this ❤
Here in the West, you must have a building inspection done before settlement. ANYTHING that is dodgy or needs replacing, including diagnosing asbestos is included in the inspection. The seller is obliged to fix, if they choose not to, the buyer can walk away. Either way, to sell a property there must be an inspection. This is obviously not the case in NSW. So sorry you have all the extra work & cost Max, but long term it will cost you less & your health will remain optimal. Thank you Luke!!!! Loved Occy’s attitude to it all!
SHOUT OUT! 🎉 ..to the roof supply delivery guys, and your divine neighbor! Teamwork makes dreams work; we are here to help each other. Thanks for shining examples.
Occy is the light of my day today 🌟 This unexpected step of renovation makes me think it’s great you’ll be 100% sure your house is healthy, a necessary step for the great adventures that lay ahead in your amazing property 🌿
Hi Max.. now the old ceiling is off, you might want to extend the height of the new ceiling up to 4 - 5 meter at least. It will help air circulation within the cabin to be less stuffy and hot - being in the tropics that is.
Max…if anyone can tackle this and come out with a beautiful new space…it’s you. With all the problems you have found, I would say this is a blessing in disguise, and you can address everything, fix it, and feel great about your house. You can do it buddy, I have faith in you. Looking forward to seeing the progress.❤to Occy!
It may look like a wreck but… you can breathe safely, and better to find termites now than at the end and have to rip out ! I’m trying to be cup half full! You can do this Max , you’ve been challenged in all sorts of ways thus far in life and come through, I have faith in you. Looking forward to this chapter x
Occy is just the best companion!! It is quite apparent that he loves his house - good boy!!💕🐾 May seem overwhelming but the possibilities are endless. Enjoy the process - it's going to be amazing!
It's going to be OK. Actually, this is a blessing, because you would have never gone back to the studs if you weren't forced to, but now you're going to get to de exactly what you want with the materials you want, and you're going to know what's in and under the walls and roof. You've got a place to live while you work, you've got friends to help. You're going to do great!
Look on the bright side Max at least you have your beautiful van to live in while all this unforeseen work takes place. If you're putting on a new roof can you raise the pitch higher and maybe get a loft bedroom up there? You need Crystal and Jazz to visit and help you. Maybe they could come to escape the Canadian winter? 😊 Remember, one step at a time, you got this.
The more I see your house torn apart the more I wonder if you considered tearing it down and building from scratch? Maybe I should ask you when you're all done renovating...? lol Regardless. you are going to end up with a beautiful home. I believe in you!! 🙏no rain 🙏 PS - How far away are you from the beach? PPS - I especially enjoyed all of the cute Occy footage; the spiders and snakes not so much. 😬
If I had of known it was in this condition from the start I may have considered it. But in saying that I still think it has beautiful bones and character and it would be a shame to waste perfectly good wood. As much as I didn't want the asbestos or termite damage, it has given me the freedom to now reno it how I want it!
@@MaxandOccy... As several folks have said, perhaps Crystal and Jaz can visit and help you for part of their winter/your summer. But they probably won't stay for too long cuz of Australia's rules on animal quarantine - the Van Wives won't want to be separated very long from their fur-girls. Someone above mentioned a metal shipping container if you want to make the house a bit bigger. Soon would be the appropriate opportunity to do that. Another Nova Scotia couple have developed some expertise in home-building that way. ❗❓😏 Good luck and inspiration in your & Occy's newly redefined project.
Max, you're a legend bud. You have picked yourself up and truly rolled with the punches. Thanks for taking us along on this crazy, but awesome ride. Do ask for help and ppl to come over even if just for a day. If they're nearby,I'm sure they would've to help and pitch in and be a part of the process. Also don't forget to connect with your better-help group niw and again dear boy. Love from a granny who has come through tough times .. even when wanting to ditch it in sometimes. GO MAT AND OKKY. Live your best life! ❤
Oh Max, what an uphill climb you have ahead of you! However, getting right back to the guts of an old property has many advantages as you can see. This gives you the fantastic opportunity to fix, refresh and construct exactly what is needed to make your home a haven of peace, contentment and also the experience of deeply satisfying personal growth. I wish you every success and can’t wait to see how things go. Also, sending vibes for dry and pleasant weather 🙏🏼
Aaaah, Max and Occy, as you said, be kind to yourselves. Push hard with the roof, then breathe ….. then the outside walls. Then steady and slow as you work this all out. Yes, it’s hard when the plans change, but that’s one of the givens in life - change. You CAN do this ❤
Well, you know what you've got to work with. Though it came sooner than planned, it will be done to your liking. It will be a wonderful home . Look what a great van you built. This is just on a bigger scale. You got this Max. 💜🕊
Wow, so many good things in the midst of so many unexpected issues. First (and to me, the best thing) you were not even close to the 72 snakes challenge! 😊😊 2nd, no rain! 🌧 3rd, You didnt trip and fall over Occy! 🤭 4th, You still have your incredible van (which was especially pleasing to me as I miss you and Occy and van life episodes! 🤗 5th, You got the roof done in time for the asbestos guys to get started! 👏🏾👏🏾 6th, you made it to and from the trip to get the roofing materials without any mishaps on the shakey road in either direction! 🎉 7th, You and Occy had time to go to the beach and relax while you processed what lay before you! ⛱️ I could keep going, but I'll stop there! You can see just how many blessings you had to counter all the challenging things that were coming at you! You held onto your wits and didn't let it overwhelm you 👍🏾👍🏾 As my mother used to say, this too shall pass! One item at a time, you will eventually finish the things that came at you all at once. 🤷🏾♀️ You chose to keep an upbeat attitude in spite of all that you were facing! And Occy is still with you and doing well! ❤❤❤ I have really grown to love and care about you two guys! So glad you are more resilient and knowledgeable about roofing than you knew! Can't wait for the next installment 🥰🥰🤗🤗
Can we just take a minute to appreciate the level of editing for these videos. Its like watching a legit tv series! So good! Definitely binge worthy!
Glad to hear you're loving the editing! 💛
I really loved the multiple Maxes on the roof!!
Production values have vastly improved this year. Well done mate!
I’m a crazed fan from the early days. Max & Occy are so easy to watch & get hooked. Love his paradise… amazing property.
my wish for Max is that he catches a break!
Occy looks so much younger since you have moved! Happy you are keeping a positive mindset. This is a blessing in disguise. The cabin was the previous owner’s dream. Now you get to actualize yours!
Love this positivity 🙌🏼 Agreed and yes Occy has found the fountain of youth in the creek here 🙃
Think Occy has lost a few pounds and makes it easier for him to run around like a pup. Yea Occy!
Believe in you&Occy...you will have your "dream home"!! Bless you both from Canada)))😊😛😛
He does
He looks happy
Your right. He really does.
Thank you for the kind words 💛 It's definitely been tough but at least I know what I'm working with now 😅
Most people, myself included may have allowed all these MAJOR set backs overwhelm and depress us.
We’re all wired differently - nature and nurture. Always remember you’re doing your best… The gift of growth is learning tools that work for us❤ ❤ ❤
We can't change what we don't acknowledge. ❤ ontario . 🇨🇦
This was actually a blessing in disguise! Now you can do make all the changes and remodel exactly how you want it. No more surprises! You got this!
On top of everything you were up against, you took the time to create a fantastic video for us. “What have I done?” “It is the journey!” Hugs to you and Occy❤
Agreed. Total pro. Wishing him an easier road going forward.
So kind, thank you! 💛
Take care! ❤
That is not a blank canvas. Raw land is.
And it's awesome to see how happy Occy is in his home, roof or no roof❣️🐾❤️
I appreciate that, thank you so much 💛

@@MaxandOccy Hi Max I used to watch you for a couple of years then life changed (new place to live, new job) n I stopped watching stuff so much on TH-cam.Found you again about 3 weeks ago binged watched and caught up with your journey. I've never commented before .I just wanted to let you know ...
Your a smart, strong, young, capable guy and this is just the storm before the calm....you're going to learn n grow so much and have a beautiful home at the end of it all 🙂
I'm sorry this has happened Max but you couldn't have lived in the place with asbestos, termite damage n mould! That could've all potentially have made you ill.
Be good to yourself take breaks, have good rests... your back will thankyou,( do your yoga stretches) meditate to keep the overwhelm at bay. (I've been into meditation 19 years,it's saved my sanity !)
LOL 😃 when you spoke about Occys attitude loving the house even with no roof on...good old Occy lightening the moment 🥰
Take care Max and please be careful on the roof...

Your sweetness to Occy speaks highly of your character and soul.
Occy is such a typical dog. Trying to help by sitting in the middle of everything! 😊😊
We're all rooting for you. Occy's working hard at keeping you grounded. Good job-both of you!
❤
For some reason I read that as "We're all roofing for you" and I thought... Jeez that;'s a lot of roofers. We'd be done in no time 😅 Thank you 💛
You’ve got this!!! A clean slate to make it your own ❤
@@MaxandOccy I think we all would have liked to be "roofers," for you !
Thank you so much 💛
This is a blessing in disguise. You would have spent years hunting down all the issues with the house. This way you know your building is safe and solid for years to come. You are more than up for this challeng👍🏼👏
Thank you! I'm definitely seeing it that way too 😅💛
I was diagnosed with a nasty autoimmune disease.
LEMON JUICE AND BICARONATE OF SODA OR BAKING PWDER SOME PEOPLE CALL IT BUT THE BICARD MIXED WITH THE LEMONS WILL FIZ PUT IT ON AND LEAVE IT FOR AN HOUR THEN RINSE WITH HOUSEHOLD SALT TO REMOVE FIRST COAT THEN WIPE DOWN TWICE WITH HOTTISH CLEAN WATER TWICE
YOU WILL HAVE A FRIDGE THAT IS FREE FROM HIDDEN GERMS BE AS WHITE CLEAN INSIDE AND THE SMELL IS WONDERFUL
❤
Thank you! Glad you love the editing 💛
You’ve got this.🌺
Thank you for such kind words, I appreciate it 💛
@@MaxandOccyyou’re very welcome. Not sure how I missed the snakes on the roof the first time watching! Reason #1 revealed itself immediately! We def want you & Occy safe.
Hello Max 26:47
Occy is such a wonderful teacher - his joy at being with his most precious human, back home (minus roof!) is all that matters to him ❤
Max - we are all here for you 150%! Live in the moment - may you be both well and happy always 🙏🙏🙏
He is certainly wise beyond his senior years Yasmin! Thank you 💛
What an opportunity to start fresh!
I just thought exactly the same thing. Imagine living in it and finding out years later. A blessing in disguise for sure.❤
Sorry buddy. That’s a shocker. I would have considered just tearing it all down and building new. Wow! What a project! Good luck mate. You got this!
Yup. What a heartbreaker for sure. Onward and upward.🤞
Life is full of challenges, but you got this. Occy was so cute enjoying the open air home. He is a good moral booster. Fortunately you have the van as a home while you build your new home. And what's the rush? Enjoy the journey. 🥰🐶
I also had the mindest of what's the rush... Until rain started coming through my new ceiling today 😅 But yes, I'm with you!!
Hi I’m in Brisbane too…
Unbelievable Max! I wish we were closer to help you! We cannot wait to see the changes. Take care of yourself!! Xx
Thanks Jennie! I wish you were closer too.. or that that husband of yours would retire already so you had plenty of time to come visit ; ) 💛
Like many people i am sure, I was thinking the same thing.
Thank you 💛
It's a blessing in disguise Max.
Yes wonderful editing and video, attitude and potential. You've got stamina and good health Max as well as a wonderful property
I really admire your positive attitude, and while things are overwhelming, you are certainly handling it like a champ! Take your time, enjoy the process - and a huge thank you with so much gratitude for taking us along for this ride with you. Big hugs to you and Occy ♥
Thank you! 💛
I’ve been following your life’s journey for six years. I’m the one with severe depression with suicidal thoughts nearly every day. I want to thank you for mentioning mental health problems and also to wish you and Occy the best as you move forward in life.
Blessings, LaCurtis
PS: Great editing on this video!!
❤
Ha definitely a challenge! Thank you 💛
Occy will always be there to give positive energy .❤
Max, it is a setback but now you know exactly what is good and wrong in the cabin. You will be able to make it a beautiful home for you and Occy, I'm sure of it. It is just sad that I live to far to come and help you.
Thank you Annie 💛
But do remember to take some time to relax and recharge along the way xx
Loved the kookaburra shot/transition too 👌🏻
100% agree! Already proud of what I've achieved with this cabin and I haven't even finished the roof yet 😅 And one of my fav shots 🙌🏼💛
The main thing is you and Occy will be safe from harm.
Thank you heaps 💛
Take in every phase of your reno ... the good, bad & ugly. Photos are also advised. Our memories fade & looking back at all the work "we" (my husband) completed makes me so PROUD (and tired). U R doing it correctly ... even if its time consuming & hard, do the reno the correct way. This is not the time for short cuts & shoddy work! This is YOUR HOME! Good luck!
Just think once everything is said and done, you'll get to sit back and laugh saying "I remember when I had no walls or roof, now look at us Occy." ❤😊
Blessing in disguise Max! This has exposed every nook and cranny now and you can deal with the termites and rotten boards etc. Your naked shell of a house frame is a fresh start for your cabin and it will be amazing soon enough with no hidden nastys like red belly blacks.
Great that you found out early in the renovation than later! And you've got a nice van setup as a 2ndary home!
Shame, they didn't check that in the inspection. You will overcome this hurdle and your home will be your vision now!😊
If anyone can YOU can.
Thank you 💛
Max, you are a hero.
Thanks so much Lauren, you're so kind 💛
Much better to have discovered the asbestos before you began work and created dangerous dust. Your electrician really did you a favour. This will be a memory very soon and you will be secure that your home is safe. After watching you build your van, I have complete confidence in your ability to meet this challenge.
House renovations/projects are the MOST stressful thing! Glad you found the termite damage now. I know your home will turn out beautifully. Good luck!
So good to see your progress. This is going to be fabulous! A clean slate. Occy is like a puppy, like he’s got a new lease on life.
ACK! No snakes!!!! You have so got this. One step at a time and all will come together.
Thank you so much! 💛
Thanks for joining us! 💛
Occy’s reminding you and all of us… The storm causes waves!🌊 ride the waves 🌊 baby ride the waves!!! Life is brilliant! You’ve got this Max!
OCCY IS THE SUPPORT TEAM!!! DOING A GREAT JOB❤
You got this! Just keep moving forward...one step at a time. You'll get there! Sending all the positive vibes your way! ✌️❤️😁🤙
I think the clean slate is a blessing Max. You get to see exactly what you've got now, rot, termites, snakes, the lot 😂. Building your dream home from the ground up & making it truly yours. It's going to be great, can't wait to see what you do with it. You've got amazing skills, you've got this ❤
You can do it. Sorry for what happened. Sending you and Occy strength, positivity, love and support. 💕✌🏻🌼🌸
Thankfully you have your van home! Occy looks great! The drone tour was amazing! We are all pulling for you, you've got this!
Love how much Occy loves the cabin 🛖 🐕
Omg, you have my luck! I feel for you. Mum is always telling me, "things happen for a reason". Fingers crossed smooth sailing from now on for you.
Remember, one step at a time, you got this.
The more I see your house torn apart the more I wonder if you considered tearing it down and building from scratch? Maybe I should ask you when you're all done renovating...? lol Regardless. you are going to end up with a beautiful home. I believe in you!! 🙏no rain 🙏
PS - How far away are you from the beach?
Thank God for Occy. All the best mate.
On a positive note😊now your aware of the termite damage and floor rot
You've got this👍
Max, you're a legend bud.
Love from a granny who has come through tough times
.. even when wanting to ditch it in sometimes. GO MAT AND OKKY. Live your best life! ❤
Oops Occy... sorry boy.
I appreciate that, thank you 💛
Wow, so many good things in the midst of so many unexpected issues.
