Was a teenager in the 1990s & i say the same. As a teenager i listened to 1960/70s stuff, prog etc. But this is a great album i wish it would have been released in, maybe, 1997 or so...

This reminds me of classic fleet foxes, back when I first discovered them. It’s a hopeful and somewhat nostalgic song, the type of sound FF have perfected in my opinion
It does. I still remember the first time I heard White Winter Hymnal and how I walked six miles to buy the album based on one song. Even though I was all the way on the east coast when I bought it, that album will always remind me of biking out west, with nothing but sun, wind and rain behind me. This track gives me the same feeling.
It's been a long two years and this is the first thing that's felt like gentle permission to let it all go, forgive myself for falling apart, and start healing. I don't know if I've ever had a song hit me this hard. A balm for the soul, ethereally beautiful.

Well, 2 weeks after the album released I can definitely say this is my favorite on the album, up there with songs like Blue Ridge Mountains, Montezuma, and Helplessness Blues.
This seems to be simultaneously a collage of so many lovely songs while still completely unique and previously unheard. I believe there's a sound resembling a leather chair cushion at 3:40 on the left channel. Kind of nice it was left in.

Makes sense why I love this band so much. They managed to create a completely unique sound and somehow manage to show influence from so many artists I love. Anyone else think: Byrds intro, Simon and Garfunkel harmonies, bon iver/beach boys vocals, Radiohead piano sampling style the first time you heard this song?

Pet Sounds was the third album of my dad's I ever put into the CD player, at age 5 it was probably the most amazing sounds I'd ever heard. Almost 20 years later I've come full circle to land on this beauty. On the off chance you check replies, I'd love to pass on some good music to someone with clearly similar interests. If you have the time, you should check out an Australian band called Sticky Fingers. "Land of Pleasure" is an album that might just change your life.

Okay, crazy theory, but hear me out.I think this unbelievably beautiful song was inspired by Zelda - breath of the wild. I present my proof: 1. The chord progression really reminds me of the dragon roost island theme 2. 3:15 "One last way past the Malice" (!!!) 3. 3.00 really *really* sounds like the botw night riding piano theme 4. If you need any more proof that Robin has to be a Zelda fan, go listen to 'so long to the headstrong' and see if anything strikes you as familiar. I want to believe
