I wish I could offer you, and other youtubers top notch cable management services. haha Great video, good mic placement, couldn't help but watch you track behind you too ha. Thanks for clear details and your input!
I have just bought a pair of the 305p. I get the lightness thing and also the momentary dread when lifting them new out of the box…😂. I guess the weight is down to the class d amps which is why they became so popular in the PA speakers. To my ears these have quite a neutral sound and do show the producers efforts quite clearly in playback which is great. I don’t have an issue with the gloss finish and actually like the contrast. I love the bass out of these things. I use them for midfield playback only and bought them for the sheer space saving convenience over HiFi. They do a great job. I have the JBL 104bt on my desk and they also fit so very well and perform wonderfully. The thing I like about the 104 apart from the coaxial speaker design is the soundstage is kept at the desk and in front of me rather than having huge width which so many look for in the HiFi realm. So yes, excellent value for money, agreed!
You talk reason mate, agree 100% with everything you said. I bought the 308P for the same reason as you. They were just too fucking cheap for what they deliver. I'm pretty satisfied with them.
These JBLs measure really well (see the highly respected Amir's review over on Audio Science Review). There's a slight frequency dip at 1.4Khz but nothing major and frankly insignificant given the price and the rooms most people will be using these in at the price point, I suspect. I say follow the science every time on monitors. You're aiming for flat response, decent listening window for nearfield. The price should not put you off. Once upon a time, I would have thought these can't be good at that price but the science doesn't lie! Ex JBL folks at Kali making that point for sure too.
I think the 'acoustic axis' between the tweeter and the mid/bass driver is often the best to have at ear level, though I believe it varies depending on design. There is also something about the woofer not being at the vertical midpoint in the axis of the room but I defer to others on that!
How LOUD are just one of them? It covers a drum player on the room? I want it to play my guitar with in small rooms with my friends and band, i use the 305p version and they are loud in my bedroom
I have used them whilst playing drums at high volumes (obviously use hearing protection if you are going to do that) and they get plenty loud. Not sure if you also intend to mix on them as well, but if not, I’d say you’d be better off buying a pair of amplifiers for that use case. It will cost you less, they’ll get louder than these, and the music will sound better. Studio monitors are meant to sound boring and flat for mixing purposes so they’re not the best for live performances. Just my two cents.
@@beatsplusbeer4042 thanks! I use digital pedal, modeler, zoom g11 model, they have to be used with FRFR cabinets, full range and flat response, neutral... so basically the same thing of an audio monitor xD I can replace the same sound of marshall amos or mesa boogie amps playing my guitar, because they are neutral so the modeler can recreate the timbre of various amps in just one speaker Well my doubt is... they are LOUD? if i have an drummer in my room playing, my guitar sound will be loud too? 100w are loud i think...
Both are great monitors. The JBL 308’s are bigger (8 inch cones) vs the LP6 (6 inch cones). So the main thing to ask yourself is what you have space for. I bought the larger monitors that are slightly big for my room because I plan to move to a much larger space in a year or two and I already have smaller 4” cone monitors.
HAVE YOU SEEN ALL THE ELECTRONICS INSIDE THESE THINGS? WOW. THESE SO CALLED BUDGET MONITORS ARE FULL OF HIGH TECH RESEARCH, HAVE ALWAYS TRUSTED JBL. EVEN MY JBL BIKE SPEAKER HAS BETTER BASS THAN MOST SYSTEMS.

Why the monitors are upside down ???
Probably to match his ear hight

What about the Constant Hissing noise these monitors make... Isn't it Annoying
Mine are completely silent when nothing is playing
use balanced cables
