It took him 4 years of high school with constant improvement for him to get noticed -- and it's only because he played Sierra Canyon. Puerto Ricans have been following him for years though. He led PR to a 17 point victory over Canada (entire roster taller than PR's) in the bronze medal game of the 2019 U19 FIBA with 24 pts, 6 assists, 5 steals.
If you notice every loss they've had they press the majority of the game and got burned everytime with the offensive talent they have I gurantey there record would be better if they jus half court man on defense

They did better with no 5 stars last year. It might be that Chevalier is too tired or something this year or it might be that Scotty was the real reason why they were so good the last two years.
@99 overall Stoner SC has like 3 or 4 coaches for their team. I'm pretty sure they are full time coaches, too. Whereas, most hs teams have a teacher who takes it on after school for some extra pay. Back when I was in HS, the science teachers were the football coaches, both Italian Catholics.
Delbo10, from an athletic stand point, I get it. But he can do everything a 5 star guard can do. Elite dribbling, elite passing, elite IQ at his position. I saw him live (I’m from Long Island) at an Adelphi tournament. He’s broken presses like these all year and he dictates pace better than anyone I’ve seen in the country. This man is going to Illinois in the Big 10 and will win that starting job

Watching Curbelo absolutely toying with SC's press is some of the best basketball I've ever watched. Every young player should study him when it comes to dissecting a full-court press. It's magical to watch.

When ys have a good team, and you're met with a team with equal or better skill. It always comes down to the coaches. Hell, SC despite having the completely better team than Windward only won by 3 since SC got out coached by Windward's coach. They'd win by 30 every game if SC got a new coach.

Harold Yu is being misused by Sierra Canyon. Defensively, he's not a good fit at all for the full-court press that they like to play; offensively, he's being constantly ignored in wide-open positions while teammates play selfish basketball. They should be playing half-court defensive sets, but he's being exposed in 2-on-1 situations against every team with a decent point guard.
Bailey needs to work on his defense and ball handling, he can be very reckless. The teams defense is weak when they play against a good point guard. Yu? Very weak for a 7 footer.

A lot of people are saying that SC has bad coaching, but I think the problem is that they don't have a proper point guard like they did last year. Though, let's be honest, coach should have recruited a point guard to come in when Scotty was graduating.

Harold Yu is being misused by Sierra Canyon. Defensively, he's not a good fit at all for the full-court press that they like to play; offensively, he's being constantly ignored in wide-open positions while teammates play selfish basketball. They should be playing half-court defensive sets, but he's being exposed in 2-on-1 situations against every team with a decent point guard.

Bailey needs to work on his defense and ball handling, he can be very reckless. The teams defense is weak when they play against a good point guard. Yu? Very weak for a 7 footer.

Yeah, Bailey was actually playing better earlier in the season. He started dropping the ball more and more mid season.

Sc coach should've relaxed and pulled off the trap after they went up 10 put Wade on 11 full court 1v1 press. Bad coaching cost SC the game.
A lot of people are saying that SC has bad coaching, but I think the problem is that they don't have a proper point guard like they did last year. Though, let's be honest, coach should have recruited a point guard to come in when Scotty was graduating.

This lost is actually good for Bronny. Missing two 3's that would have helped his team is for sure gonna have him in the lab working even harder on his game. Also, Curbelo should NOT be number 48 on espn. Top 10 at least. Dude plays with a joy and creativity you don't see too often.
ESPN in my opinion is not a great trusted source when it comes to evaluating top players across the country.

How is Curbelo ranked #48? I never heard of dude but watching THIS GAME nah aint no way he the #10PG & #48 overall. Also how does SC have SO MANY WEAPONS offensively but struggle to score? Their CLEAR weakness is defense & playing against teams with a elite PG who has chemistry with his team even if theyre not as athletic or not as stacked. SC needs to focus more on team defense & unity
You can tell when SC is going to lose! The moment theyre down 2 or give up a lead they start playing too fast & start doing too much as if theyre down 5 with 10 seconds left. Then end up down 10 & start forcing everything & forget to play defense & focus on pressing. TERRIBLE COACHING
