I watched and loved this show while living back East. Then I moved to LA and ended up working for a company that was inside that very same building. They only used the exterior shots and then went to the studio. Dino's Lodge was right next to it. It was a dream come true for me. Wonderful memories.
I don’t know who George J. Lewis is or was, but the photos you have posted under that name are of Oscar Beregi, Jr. He had six appearances in 77 Sunset Strip, but the one you list as character “border crossing agent” was his first one and he did not even earn screen credit for it. An odd choice, to say the least. However you did correctly cite Beregi’s death as being in 1976. Now, if we only knew who George J. Lewis actually was, at least in the context of this show. Edit: Lewis was a Mexican-born character actor with over 300 credits in mostly bit parts his career. He was most recognized for playing the father of Zorro in the series that starred Guy Williams. He also did this tv series 6 times, but was only uncredited in his final appearance. Lewis reportedly died of a stroke in 1995, two days shy of his 92nd birthday.

How could you possibly have missed Roger Smith? He was one of the two main characters, along with Efrem Zimbalist, who appeared weekly in the series.
Show was before my time but I loved watching the reruns
When America had some class....😢😢😢😢
Efrem Zimbalist Jr, apareció también en la famosa serie FBI, y con doblaje de voz igual al de Elliot Ness de los Intocables.
Juraba que Troy Donahue era uno de los actores protagonistas de la famosa serie.
Diane McBain was a beauty, but what a sexy voice!
That's not George J Lewis. The right-hand picture is Oscar Beregi. Don't know the guy on the left.
That is not George J Lewis, it is Oscar Beregi jr.
