Really interesting the compact presentation of the score, it is useful to understand the counterpoint between voices and instruments. BWV 1, the first cantata of the Bach-Werke-Verzeichnis catalogue! It was composed for the solemnity of the Annunciation and was in fact performed on March 25, the date of the Conceptio Christi. A true masterpiece both musical and religious.
Inspired by the latest coronation, I picked up a copy of Sir John Eliot Gardiner's "Music in the Castle of Heaven: A Portrait of Johann Sebastian Bach". Absolutely love reading and learning by being driven to the dictionary and the keyboard. Although a multi-instrumentalist, my voice probably needs the most work. I shall have to content myself with videos like this until I can get to a live performance.

No doubt, especially the opening chorale fantasia - the longest of all of Bach's cantatas.
