Hi Kirsty! I have been really interested in realism with color pencils for a long time, and your videos are inspiring me to go on. My watch later list on youtube is filled with over a 100 different tutorials from your channel! I am only 10 years old and already my drawings look amazing because of you. I have already done a portrait, lots of fruits and now I am learning the basics of watercolor and starting a realistic eye drawing. Thank you! :)
Your the reason why people get inspired to do art and use their creativity I love watching your content Please don’t stop You are an inspiration You explain everything so well and help in a lot of way
Kirsty, you are such a big inspiration to me! I'm a smaller youtuber struggling to post weekly. As a fan of colored pencil, this will DEFINETLY help speed up my my filming process, and give me more time to edit!
I love the layering process with pencils, that is where I can relax and get the benefit of coloring for stress relief...BUT...there are times I want to speed up the process and not do as many layers. I have thought of using pastels under the pencils but hadn’t tried it yet, so thank you for the demonstration!
Using markers is a really fun way to do this for sure, but most of them aren't lightfast. Because of this I wouldn't recommend working this way if you want to sell your artwork. Hope this is helpful!
i mostly use pencils too, and i can't get myself to get too much into other media. but lately i've been starting to experiment combining coloured pencils with other media like you show here. i think mixed media is a great way to get yourself feeling comfortable with different media.
Absolutely! I used to feel so uncomfortable with paint in comparison to pencils. By using pencils and paint together i was able to ease into it by slowly using less and less pencils and more and more paint. Keep it up mixed media is one of the best things i've tried!
I love your tips, Kirsty! I recently brought some color pencils and it seems like you knew my problem and sent this video to help me out. Thank you really very much for your help in improving my artworks!!!
Thanks a lot Kirsty, I have been following you since really long time ❤️ You have helped me so much in improving my art. And because of your inspiration, I also started my own TH-cam channel. I don't have words to let you know how much you mean to me❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ May God shower you with a lot of happiness and peace😘
Thank you so much for a video like this! I wanted to learn how to speed up drawing overall! THANK YOU for uploading this! I absolutely love your videos. They are really informative and helpful!
So happy to see a regular art tutorial again :D No offense, I sometimes enjoy the business-side videos but as a hobby-artist, I find those art-tips way more useful. Even though this is obviously also important for building a business, as it crucial to work efficient.
I am trying to add pastels to my colored pencil drawings. I've been studying a very slow technique with tons of layers, but it takes soooo long and triggers my tendinitis as it never showed up before while drawing. Loved to see you talking about it with more details! Thanks!
@@FineArtforChrist I'm trying some different solvents too, here in Japan gamsol and zeist are hard to find and incredibly expensive so I'm still looking for a good alternative.
@@FernandaSomenauer That true for the Philippines too. Have you looked for Linseed Oil, I haven't tried it but I've heard it works similarly. Hope this is helpful!

@@FineArtforChrist it is a good idea, maybe should give it a try! Maybe can find one not so smelly (I love linseed oil smell, but it is quite strong, as far as I remember). Thanks!!!
Hello Kirsty, I can’t believe you can draw such realistic pictures, you have lots of talent! Can I ask you a question?Where do you store your artworks? Do you keep them in a portfolio or do you give them to people? Thanks ❤️
You are very great Kirsty.. Really I was trying to speed up my drawing and with this technique my drawing will definitely 3×faster.. Thank you sooooo much Kirsty.. You always inspired me..❤️❤️
If you are looking for other ways to speed up you colored pencil drawings, consider using a different paper and blending method! For example colored pencils on pastelmat with solvent, or colored pencils on sanded paper with powder blender. Hope this is helpful!
It always takes me hours, and it really seems like the longer I take the better it is. I have a lot of patience when it comes to colored pencils, but these tips could really help speed it up without getting in the way of the quality!
I have found that to be true for my art too. I have tried many different methods to make the process faster but I find that I still end up spending the time I save with these methods to take my art to the next level. This means that I generally spend the same amount of time on my work no matter what method I use. Hope this is helpful!
Can you post a link to those pan pastel blending/drawing brushes & replacement sponges? Thanks so much for all your instruction & tips! You're so amazing & inspiring!
Hi kertsy, thanks for teaching me tons of techniques and ways to improve my drawings .You are a lot better than my art teacher. And please can you teach us to draw from water colours
I shy away from color pencils due to the time they take. Using other mediums as a base is a good idea to speed up the time taken. Thank you sharing great tips as always!
Just found your channel and am so stoked, I have always envied people who can draw so I finally decided to take the plunge and start learning. I am just at learning to sketch but I think I might as well start learning a bit about colours as well , no use dilly dallying around, might as well take the plunge head first, so to speak. Thank you so much in advance for all the help you are about to give me I am very appreciative.
Hi Kirsty, I want to say a massive thank you to you. You have taught me so much on here and on patron that I know take commissions and have started my own chanel. You are a huge inspiration so thank you ❤️😍
