I'm longterm. I decided I'm working at 2* of 5s except my 3* BotW. It will take awhile to do them to rank 10, but we got plenty of time folks. This game isn't going anywhere.
I strongly advise you, to not waste your most valuable assets (time/money) on a game that is designed to be expensive to keep progressing. Even if you got the best 5 star, it's always spending money with no real return on it
oh i see, that makes sense! when you just find a 4 star though, i know the one you found is one of the worst but still with the power it (could) bring, i would consider equiping it and using whatever platinum you find disposable to get it to rank 4. that would probably be like 400 added resonance, which even with your high combat rating would still give you an even crazier boost!
Not surprising that high gems are hard to upgrade since they boost resonance much more than others. I even had to do it on that green jade 2stars gem.. I had it rank 5 and To go rank 6 i needed another rank 5 + rank 3. BUT to get the needed rank 5 i needed another rank 3 etc... It will take alot of time = people will farm for a long time = game will live longer. It's a smart move from blizz.
Trying to sell a 4/5 chip stone and it’s only going for 63k platinum in my market. I may just hold on to it until the price goes back up. I’ve been really lucky with drops and got a 3/5 blood jade from the free crest. Also got a 3/5 seeping bile, 3/5 howlers and 3/5 blessing of the worthy I’m using. Sold a phoenix ashes and Zwensons haunting to upgrade them. This is spending less than $200
I would hold on to it instead of sell it. Same thing is happening in my server maybe a good idea for a video actually to compare different server markets.
important stuff! good video man i wish i seen this 2 months ago and i guarentee id have my mid tier wings by now lol! just found a 4 star blood soaked jade and of course im at rank4 on my 2star equipped. i luckily already have a rank3 saved as well, so i need to find 2 more blood soaked jades to rank up to rank5! and with a 4/5* thats gonna be a beauty of an upgrade like 200 more res! currently sitting on 2030 resonance
You absolutely don’t need to keep your rank 1 gems for when you level a legendary gem to 10. Just buy and craft more of them. Not leveling a 5 star above rank 3 if you plan on upgrading it is good advice however.
I've been playing and liking this game as a single player adventure with occasional forced multiplayer, but holy sh*t the gem system is confusing and incredibly unfriendly to free players. Makes me mad enough that I want to stop playing even though I enjoy it.
As a f2p I am level 65 over 2k CR 🙃 because I don’t care about level. I wanna have an easy time on the next hell 3 pre grinding h3 to have a set ready when I reach paragon 80 and I’ll make a big CR jump. I’m happy with my max 1,2 star gems. The community is so toxic cuz I got my wings 😂 they think I’m a whale
@@daniellim9490 I got my gems through rune shop. I never brought the 2,5 star gems. It’s a waste of time for a f2p. My strategy is to craft 1,2 star gems only. You’ll get plenty of runes in a week 350 dust per week. Use the dust on trading the runes on useless runes you don’t need for the ones you need. It’s alot of work but worth it. So you don’t gotta worry about gems ever again as a f2p
I'm a low spender I got a 2/5 gem sold it for 53 k then bought a different 2/5 star for 27k used it for gem power made 25k to do moves like this again these are the type of things ftp and low spenders need to make to get ahead
You just said "I'm a low spender" do you know how long it would take a f2p player to make 53k? By the time they did, the margins for flipping would be nothing like they are with a 25k flip. The margins are FROM that f2p impossibility. Do you not see that?

Same mats are being used. Point being, no reason to hoard gems till you get that 'higher quality' one, then upgrade it. That may not come at all or might take days, weeks, months. It's RNG. So you can upgrade your 2/5 star gems and when that three comes, just use it for your next upgrade even if it takes longer to obtain that next upgrade. Dont let a good gem like blood soaked(example) sit in your bag because you dont wanna do anything until you have a higher quality that once again may come in a week/month+ time lol But you do you I guess.
Sure but had i had I waited a week I'd be rocking a 3/5 that gives more resonance and stats or had I known that I would of bought a 3/5 or 4/5 from the market to easily upgrade ahead of time
the only mistake i made was upgrading the very expansive gems instead of seeling them and buying cheaper ones ,all the gems are 32 gem power but the prices are major due to demand if i sold my blood soaked gem 4 star it would of financed 8 not so popular 2/5 stars instead now i need 6 blood soaked which is pretty much impossible to buy unless you have $1000 for 1 gem rank
Yooooo that happened to me with seeping bike from 4-5, I got a 4/5 seeping and farmed a couple of them up finally and went to upgrade and saw I needed two rank 3. I was so pissed.
sometimes i just think before watched the video, "does watching this makes my gaming experience more fun ? i've always been doing this and after so long i just tried to play the game without watching tips, it's probably better if i just play it and figure everything out myself". maybe i'm just the kind of person that doesn't like to have a pile of things to do before actually started it..
you should sell the 3/5 here tbh. Chances are you will find another 3/5 or better one from regular Crests. In that case you will hate yourself cause that drop becomes usless as you cannot sell that one. Rather use the plat to upgrade cheap 3/5 gems that you wouldnt mind to use as fodder later as you get your plat as gem power back without taking a big hit.
Game is too stingy. They need to make it so you can grind for runes and crests more. I don't mind grindy Game but at this rate it'll just make everyone leave. To max one 5 star gem costs 4.5k gem power and 73 copies of the same gem. I like this game but I hope they change it so its more rewarding to progress. At this rate everyone would quit.

i see the info your saying; upgrading takes lots of dupes etc.but not clear what best plan is? so wait until you pull a 3/5 4/5 5/5 lego gem before you dump resources into upgrade it??? cause it takes less resources to upgrade an already good gem then to try and upgrade a weaker gem all the way up???
as soon as I get my stupid dupe I'll have a more detailed video. and the Break down is take a 5 star to rank 3 and if you plan on upgrading the stars to 3/5 or 4/5 then stop at 3 and get your 3/5 or 4/5 fodder in so that your not holding on forever to accumulate another 6-7 gems to upgrade it higher

No from what I've seen from JTisallbusiness it looks like that's not needed and if you say miraculously get to lvl 10 on a 5 star gem it'll allow you to just feed a 5/5 into it to make it a 5/5 even though say its a 2/5 maxed at 10.
Dude I've been telling this to everyone but people are on such a hurry to get wings they never listen. I feel really lucky. I've spent less than $150. I have a 3 star Blood Soaked Jade, 3 star Seeping Bile, a 4 star Zwenson's Haunting(I'm actually gonna get rid of this eventually), and a 2 star Howlers Call. I've leveled all of them to level 2. I have 2 more level 2 Seeping Biles in my inventory. I could level up and get my wings but I'm playing the long game. Until I get 4 or 5 star versions of my gems I'm not taking them to level 3. It's not gonna take as long as you would think. I'm selling skill stones, secondary gems, and non binded 1 and 2 star gems every day. My Platinum is stacking quick. Plus so far my luck has just been insane. I've literally got a 5 star gem every time I've been able to run a 10 crest rift(which isn't often). I will get my wings very soon and getting them won't screw up what I'm doing with my upgrades. Don't be in hurry to get those wings. It's not worth setting your account back so you can look cool for everyone.

I actually quit posting screen shots in our Discord of my incredible luck because I didn't want people to get mad at me. The RNG is crazy. One F2P in our clan has a 5/5 Blood Soaked that he crafted. Lol. Everyone was telling him to sell it. I told him not to do that. He may never get another 5/5. I guess it depends on if you're in it for the long run.
idk man...i wouldnt wait too long. we dont live forever. your giving up so much power thinking its cool to hold on to your gems for months. 4 star zwensons isnt even really worth THAT MUCH on the market your throwing away so much resonance power by not using your gems LOL and you dont even care to realize it. theres nothing wrong with having those gems at rank2-3 if your that paranoid about having to rank up later when you find a 4 or 5 star. if you get a 4 star i wouldnt wait on the opportunity. with just one 4 star your getting the power of like 2 rank 10 1 stars. you will do a lot better in all aspects of gameplay.
@@OGHawkeye I'm not really loosing a lot if power holding 2 Seeping Bile 2 star gems to wait on an upgrade. Both of those together won't even get me to level 3 on a 5-star gem. My CR currently sits at 2870 and I'm in Legend in PVP. If I was getting trucked I would consider going ahead and crunching them but I'm currently strong enough to compete in PvP on my server and doing PvE is a joke. I get what you're saying. You're not wrong. I should have provided a little more context. I think you're right, if you need the extra power by all means crunch all you got. I haven't spent any money in the game in about 3 weeks. Really I don't have the gem Power to upgrade my gems even if I wanted too. I recently bought a Bottled Hope from market and took it to level 2 with the 1 and 2 star gems I had. After posting this I looked at my card to see exactly what I have spent on the game and it's actually $80. Much less than $150. When I made the post I chose that number because I knew it was less than that. I did not mean to give the impression that I had a bunch of legendary gems just laying around that I could use but chose not too. I can see that my post does give that impression. But really that's not the case. I could get 1 of my gems to level 3. So really I'm not missing out on a bunch of power by holding those Seeping Bile. I'm just missing a little power. As time goes on and I get more gems I would definitely upgrade some of my 3 stars to higher levels rather than holding a ton of power in my inventory.
I’m assuming this guy spent up to several thousand on this game. And now he’s realizing it will take 50,000$ to get where the top whales are. Haha me sitting on 20K platinum and having to save up 40-60K more for one 1-star seeping bile as a f2p player; disheartening to say the least…

i upgraded my 4pcs 1star gem to rank 5 by using my 5star (2star) gem and some 1star,, did i do right?

yes but it needs to be the base for upgrade so if you upgrade a 3/5 to rank 2 then feed it to the rank 3 it would make it a 3/5 rank 3 etc.. etc..

today's video actually talks about that. overall 2/5 works best but it's good to have 1 maxed gem for cooldown decrease on buffs

No you dont. You can even turn a 2/5 to a 5/5 latter if you find one while upgrading your 2/5
