The man pictured at 2:02 is not Prince Francis of Teck, but Francis and Mary Adelaide's youngest son Alexander, later the Earl of Athlone.

Really interesting. I knew nothing about Queen Mary’s parents prior to your video. Why couldn’t you have taught history when I was in school? 😂

Mary Adelaide was extremely Popular in Britain at a time when Queen Victoria was not... This put a strain on their relationship, and Queen Victoria started to be firmer on the couples spending ( extravagances mostly related to Improvements to their homes. This lead them to "Rent Out" their home in Richmond Park and to leave England. As a family they moved around Europe for over 2 years. Staying often for Months at a time with either her own or her Husbands relatives. They didn't return until their debts were paid off and some money had been acquired... Prince Albert brought them back with a promise of increased Allowances from Queen Victoria... Who Clearly felt her Own Position was now more rooted !!

Mary Adelaide died intestate, she did not bequeath her jewels to her children, they shared them out between them after their mother's death.

I said the same thing, Princess Margaret in her heyday was just beautiful , even in the pictures of her from the 80s and 90s. Maybe the necklace will be worn by one of her granddaughters or wives of her grandsons at their weddings in the future. It might be a little dicey for someone to wear the crescent tiara given the fact that the crescents are similar to the Islamic crescent. Someone would make the argument ( as baseless as it would be) that it's cultural appreciation and offensive to Muslims.

I've always loved seeing these tiaras but the bigger ones I think look better or wouldn't look better on someone. Prince's Catherine height she's 5'10 Queen mother was 5 ft Princess Margaret was 5 ft the late Queen Elizabeth was5'3 but we all know w/ age u get shorter & like Queen Mary's mother's just keep getting bigger & trying 2 "look" slimmer started wearing fur's The large tiaras just overwhelmed them and Princess. Catherine is the next Queen Queen Camila shouldn't hog all the good ones for herself

    • @erinobrien8793

There are usually specific tiaras the Queen would wear such as, the Vladimir Loop Tiara, Delhi Durbar Tiara, the Boucheron Tiara, the Belgian Sapphire Tiara, or the Burmese Ruby Tiara. Whereas the Princess of Wales wears the Cambridge Love Knot Tiara and others like the Lotus Tiara, the Cartier Tiara, and the Strathmore Rose Tiara.
There are so many to choose from that it will be interesting to see which tiaras Camilla, Catherine, Ann, and Sophie wear. Plus if Beatrice and Eugenie are invited to state banquets they may wear the York Tiara or borrow one from the royal collection.

@@erinobrien8793 More than enough to go around... and it's the King who approves who wear's what...I'm sure its more of a formality. Than not. Thing is... Tiaras are very personal and some don't fit... Some aren't the right colour... It's not so simple. BUT, Queen Camilla has worn the Burmese Ruby Tiara twice and totally Rocked it... That Tiara looked Much Better on her... Than it had on HM The Queen.

This is the first time I have seen Q Mary’s mother: I didn’t think anyone or anything could make Mary of Teck the opposite of unattractive and homely!

Regarding the name, «Doña Fabiola Mora y Aragón», the “y” is pronounced “ee” meaning “and”, not “y”.
I can’t tell if it’s an AI narrator or someone who doesn’t do so simple Google pronouncing homework.
But, goodness! That “y” error grates!

We'll styles change... Crescent Moons were very fashionable in Jewellery and at that Time... It would have been a most stylish design...
I'm pretty sure We Wont see this Tiara again... not as is !! These days they could be considered Politically Incorrect as the "Crescent Moons" could be translated as being or seen as " Muslim Symbols"
Same goes for Blackamoors...some Superb jewels were presenting black people of high birth BUT these days some people associate these pieces with Slavery ( which never was the case...) and so are rarely seen. The most recent example of outcry was when The Princess Michael of Kent wore her diamond encrusted Blackamoor Brooch to an event at Buckingham Palace around the time of the wedding of Prince Harry to the then Meghan Markle...It was picked up on a photo and a big deal was made of this by some who felt she was being disrespectful To Miss Markle.
These Items of Jewellery are still being made mostly in Italy !!

I wonder why you say "Queen Alexandra" "Queen Mary" "Queen consort Camilla". The first two were queen consorts, exactly the same as Camilla.

They were not the same as Camilla as they were never mistresses. Alexandra and Mary never had affairs with their husband's before they married them or when they were still married to other women. So they were nothing like Camilla

@janeknight3597 this is a true statement for you but not for many others, and you can not control their thoughts and feelings. In the minds of many folks, she destroyed a family, and her and Charles actions destroyed the royal family. They have lost the respect of many folks at home and worldwide. You can choose to ignore facts, but it's true. Actions have consequences, you cannot control the minds and hearts of people.
