I think the problem people have with this song is the semantic of *Money*. Most of the time to know the emphasis of a text we look at the lexical field that is used. It is very good to be wealthy and God Himself is interested in the welfare of His people, therefore John the Apostle prayed in 3 John 1:2 "I pray you to prosper concerning all things and to be in good health, just as your soul prospers". This was a threefold petition asking for prosperity, good health and spiritual progress (prosperity of the soul). Nevertheless, this particular song by Minister Badu is self centered, money centered and in no way does it exhort the believer. Paul the Apostle said in Ephessians 5:19 to speak to one another with psalms, hyms and spiritual songs making melody in our hearts UNTO THE LORD. The problem about this song is that God has been taken out of the equation, in no place was the Lord Jesus mentioned and money is the sole focus of the song. Mind you, the Lord Jesus said that you cannot serve two masters, and interestingly, He didn’t put anyone beside God but money. He could have said, you cannot serve God and satan, but He said "God and mammon", which is money. Meaning that in this world the only thing that can tamper with your allegiance unto the cross is money and no wonder many preachers have swayed and run after mammon. So the Body of Christ is not indignant because of the song, but because of its content which has nothing to do with God but everything to do with self gratification. Paul said he would boast about God, but here we are seeing a minister of the Gospel boasting about money, which in itself is neutral but becomes evil when it takes the place of God. And mind you, he claims to have received it from God and yet still cannot stand the test of the Scriptures. Minister Sonnie Badu has a great track record and a good legacy. We know he can do better, and this is not it.

I have nothing against this song but I can’t lie the song hit different in the beginning. It’s not you would expect from a gospel song but listening further into the music you find that the attributes God as the giver of wealth. This is one way of seeing God that Christians ignore sadly to our detriment. The Bible talks about the way we see things as God as Christians. If you see God to be holy you will desire to be holy and henceforth align yourself with God to be Holy. If you see God to be wealthy definitely you will have an inner conviction of being wealthy as a child of God.

Brother Sheldon, the issue is not Christians being wealthy or not. It is very good to be wealthy and God Himself is interested in the welfare of His people, therefore John the Apostle prayed in 3 John 1:2 "I pray you to prosper concerning all things and to be in good health, just as your soul prospers". This was a threefold petition asking for prosperity, good health and spiritual progress (prosperity of the soul). Nevertheless, this particular song by Minister Badu is self centered, money centered and in no way does it exhort the believer. Paul the Apostle said in Ephessians 5:19 to speak to one another with psalms, hyms and spiritual songs making melody in our hearts UNTO THE LORD. The problem about this song is that God has been taken out of the equation, in no place was the Lord Jesus mentioned and money is the sole focus of the song. Mind you, the Lord Jesus said that you cannot serve two masters, and interestingly, He didn’t put anyone beside God but money. He could have said, you cannot serve God and satan, but He said "God and mammon", which is money. Meaning that in this world the only thing that can tamper with your allegiance unto the cross is money and no wonder many preachers have swayed and run after mammon. So the Body of Christ is not indignant because of the song, but because of its content which has nothing to do with God but everything to do with self gratification. Paul said he would boast about God, but here we are seeing a minister of the Gospel boasting about money, which in itself is neutral but becomes evil when it takes the place of God. And mind you, he claims to have received it from God and yet still cannot stand the test of the Scriptures. Minister Sonnie Badu has a great track record and a good legacy. We know he can do better, and this is not it.
This passage no need. It doesn't matter the angle from which you are looking at this. You need money to even do the work of God. Even If people support your ministry, they bring money or anything equivalent to money; time and skilsl. You wouldn't have a problem if Sarkodie sang about money. Money in the hands of God-fearing people is power to the church. Change your thinking. Are Christians not allowed to boast about the wealth God has given them?
