Yes to the scoop counter, no to the hunting for scoops - not regularly at least. It could be fun to occasionally break out a mean and sweaty deck just to see how quickly people scoop to it. But this isn't a super tryhard channel, and none of tribalkai's audience is here for that sort of game all the time.
You're the only MTG channel that I watch now. I don't think this channel is a train wreck. I look for your new content every day. Great games! I always enjoy mono black gameplay. As others have suggested, you should make a video of how many people scoop. I think it would be quite funny.
I appreciate your time and the kind words. I think I’ll have to start collecting early scoop footage so I can make a compilation at some point. It could be a funny idea.
I built your valgavoth deck to play at my local LGS and its been so fun to use, a lot of people rarely see this card in play but it is such a cool commander to build and play with others, also your content is always a blast to watch so keep up the content TribalKai
I have a feeling that Intet player was probably new, or at least new to mtgo, based on what I saw with those cards. Also, Intet is a sweet little commander that you don't see these days (I was brewing another of the cycle, Vorosh, last week, but abandoned it). Funny how the new guy didn't understand MTGO etiquette and actually stuck it out longer than the average player. Buddy, you're one of the only mtg channels I watch. You're good. Whatever you put out I'll take a look at, but not always right away (real life stuff, like you said, takes up time). Keep it up, hundreds of us around the world find a tiny bite of joy listening to an even-keeled Englishman play his favorite card game for a few minutes a day. If I still played MTGO I'd be jamming games with you, and your patreons. Love from Midwest USA ♥
I don't think it matters too much for these particular matches since folks be scoopin, but remember that you can cast Valgavoth's exiled cards with life rather than mana cost. For some reason everyone I've played against who uses him thinks you have to pay the mana and that's just not the case with him. FWIW I really like Valgavoth! I think he's a cool classic stompy black commander who gets deceptively powerful very quickly.
It would obviously be preferable to see a completion with this commander. You coined the the phrase perfectly though; that there is absolutely no downside to people scooping early. Not to worry. A great vid nonetheless. Keep up the good work.
Mono black Gonti pilot here, I use Fellwar Stone, Chromatic Lantern, and Gilded lotus for the same reason: the off-chance to activate the ability of something I stole. Personally, I wouldn't interfere with my lands too much by running Mana Confluence et al because my Cabal Coffers and Lake of the Dead care about Swamp density.
While scooping is lame it's I think still interesting to see. It's a reality of the game sometimes and while it may not happen in paper as often as it does online, it gives an idea of the kind of things that will make players want to scoop which is good for figuring out how much pressure some cards will put on people in paper.
Lining up a couple of scoop videos is the way to do it, I assume most everyone that watches the channel also plays mtgo, so we are all well aware of the scoopers/rage quitters etc. It’s more comical than disappointing, which makes for a decent video
I went ahead and deleted my posts. I’ll go about this another way to at least be a little bit cooler. I can come off pretty bad when I’m offended. So why do you block ppl that quit? My point of view was the game was pretty much over. To me that is a sign of it’s over already and no reason to keep going. It seemed like dream crusher all over again though. Dude blocks everyone and now can’t get a game. And the last word thing should only work for women. I’m a dude… I let my play do the talking bro.
I don't think that this channel is a trainwreck. I enjoy the games and look forward to the (almost daily) uploads.
Thank you mate.
Maybe lean into it. Start up a scoop counter, and go hunting for scoops.

@@ClassicMagicMan Baral, cheif of scoops. 38 islands and 61 counter spells. No win condition, never lose a game.
@zacharymccutcheon8607 - I’ll never try that hard. No need to hunt for scoops when they’re so plentiful already.

Always flattering to hear people have built my decks in paper, thank you. Hope you enjoy!

Finally! Another Scoop City video. I love these.

Neat commander! Why is mana confluence in the deck? Isn’t it just worse than another swamp?
It’s for activated abilities.
@ ah gotcha, that makes sense!

@ this makes a lot of sense, I was just stuck on using health to cast and not needing the colored mana…. But this is a lesson learned!

I wouldn’t think of it that way personally so it’s good to know that the audience sees it as amusing as opposed to annoying.
@@tribalkai Variety to games adds some spice, some hard losses, some close games, blow outs, whiney quitters, ect. It's all good
Yea, not understanding why your blocking everyone..... seems pretty corny dude. Probably the last video i watch from you man.
You’re clearly new here.
