Girl What? what trickery is this. You are like the hair sangoma!!!!! I haven't subbed so fast. Please do a cheap wig series. I Just lost my mind and bought 4 curly half wigs like a mess. I have such a big problem blending my own hair with the half wigs. Any suggestions on that. My natural hair is past waist length, but the Outre is my crack. Girl where you from? Cape town is here for you.
I don't like straight hair so i usually wear my hair curly and prefer curly wigs. My own hair is past waist and color 2 or 3. Im wearing Penny today in S1b/30 and that blends perfectly. I usually do some bump type situation in front. But i need inspiration and since you are a hair whisperer maybe you can help. You have Sangomas in Zambia? throwing bones is real life 😄
Anthea P I use to braid my hair in a halo. With a real good slick down. If you want to cover up the front with a head band you can. Or put jewelry there.
Dante Velasquez Natural???? Believe me there is nothing Natural about this. This is self loathing. How can you hate your hair so much, you hide it under a smelly, sweaty, silly plastic hat? It looks nothing like her natural hair. She just looks like any other African insecure, intimidated, embarrassed about their features woman
I was referring specifically to how it mimics a natural parting with hair that grows from one's head as opposed to wigs with unconvincing part and hairlines. As a stylist that installs all manner of hair extensions and wigs, this can be an issue when budget is a concern, and you want to give your clients the best possible results, as hair and closures can be very pricey. As for the self-loathing, protective styles in and of themselves are not about self-loathing. They certainly have been culturally imposed on people with types 3 and 4 hair, and there are many people that do not embrace their natural features due to the ridiculous and inaccurate assertion that European gene expressions are more desirable, and I am emphatically against these beliefs and notions, but that does not mean that everyone who wants to wear wigs or extensions is choosing to do so because of self-loathing. Blaming wigs and extensions for this would mean that other things like hair dyes, makeup and other cosmetics, nail polishes and extensions, false eyelashes and the like are used only by people who loathe their natural appearance. There are those that do and those that do not. To me, this crochet closure method solves the problem that I have often come across where there is no closure available, and I am not a fan of leave-out as protective styles should specifically protect the more vulnerable parts of the hair, or the closure hair does not match the weft hair, or I am creating the wig or extension system out of high-quality synthetic hair of which good closures are rarely made. Protective styles are something that every hair type should avail themselves of from time to time instead of damaging color processes, damaging and costly straightening or wave perming processes, extreme hair length changes, or simply to try something different for a night. And finally ass for the creator of this channel, you clearly have not seen her other videos, because she has included tutorials and examples of natural styles that she wears.
Dante Velasquez Mmmmm. You are looking at it from a hairstylist point that capitalizes on African women longing for European features. If you didn't make money from it, you would understand the issue. How can African women contemplate wearing hair that looks NOTHING like their own, meanwhile hiding their own hair. Makeup does not hide your racial features unless you do all that contouring rubbish. Nails are enhancements to what you already have. Regardless I don't like that neither but we all have those featutes & if you want false nails then it's not European nails you are adding onto your hands.
Nope. Not all of my clients are African. And not only African people wear and requests wigs and extensions that are not like their color or texture. that is a very narrow way of viewing things. They may not be "European" but nail enhancements, make-up and false lashes DO conceal natural features and do fake your appearance. This isn't about money for me. this is about people expressing themselves in any way they see fit, and judgment about that from others is small and antiquated.
I seriously didn't understand how u did it 😭😭😭 but I'm gonna keep watching till I get it, cos this is a very nice and informative video and I have to learn it 💪💪💪💪 great and helpful video!! Thank u so much for sharing xx 😊😊
I’m not sure if you figured it out yet. But from what I got from the video, she sewed the weft on for the closure part, took the crochet needle and went under the weft from the front to the back, pulled the hair under the weft to fold it over to hide the weft with the weave. So when you put it on, it should look like it’s coming out of the part area of the wig. Hope that helps. But like I said, that’s what I got from the video. Hopefully that kinda clears it up a little for you. 😉
This was the idea I had, but seeing you execute it made me think, "Yes, now that is perfect." I really like it. It looks natural, unlike other wigs. In the past, when I cosplayed, I went through a ton of wigs. The problem with the three I bought was that the cap never conformed to my head properly, making the hair too loose. I have very fine hair, so when I put on a wig cap, it slides off. Plus, the wigs I bought didn’t look natural at the top where the center is. So, seeing this one, I was really pleased.
I love this wig! I’m broke and love the cheap! I got lost tho along the way. You’re really good and we all know it but I wish you’d slow this down and give me a chance to understand it more. I’ve never made wigs and you shift so fast it hard for a beginner to keep up.
Whatttt honey you are definitely on to something with this tutorial. Now I just gotta watch like 100x more times to thoroughly grasp the concept. Thanks 🤗
Here some more ideas make more faux hair closures for crochet Marley/Havana hair, and faux hair closures for companies who doesn't make lace closures or Frontals? Also can you do Tutorials on dying synthetic hair with fabric dye and turn into caramel brown, dark honey blonde, golden blonde (not white Platinum blonder), browns with cool & neutral undertones, black with cool & neutral undertones, blondes with cool & neutral undertones, and ginger hair colors?
Love your explanation. I have a piece of advice on sewing thread. I sew like crazy and I quilt. Look for quilting thread. It's a little bit thicker than sewing thread but not to thick. It's also stronger. You can find it next to regular thread in any fabric store. Walmart may have it if they had a sewing department.
So I read your comment again, I take that back. I think my first thought was how I've seen ppl do a full head with tracks/bundles, & then close by crocheting hair. I would think its the same thing, just use whatever tracks you have and hair that matches or some I've seen cut the hair off of the track and then crotchet it onto the lace. They use the tiny crotchet needle instead of the regular, looks time consuming
You are a boss with the crochet method closure I need to learn how to do this on a full head of crochet. Can you please do a tutorial of how to do this on a full head of straight crochets.
Kersha Beaver I agree. Closures last me maybe 2 weeks. It's nice to protect what used to be my leave out but once that thing start pushing back... it's not cute
Trop beau!Awesome and clever!!! But to be sure about your technique do you do the crochet thing all around the weft and the sew in to hide it all around?

I use the same caps, and I always pay attention to NOT sew through the elastic, but I apparently it still happens, because by the time I'm finished, my wig is too big. I even try to pull the fabric out too to avoid that. What am I doing wrong?? I wanted a wig I didn't have to use clips with..
I have a 22" one, my head is around 21.5". Some others told me that if I got the exact same size as my head that my wigs would be too tight and to go a half size up... :/

Y’all know closures are $40 $50 the most depending on the length

Freaking awesome. No one would ever know there was no closure. Very creative.

Instead of a whole wig? Can you just make a closure out of Regular hair extensions and crochet hair? This will revolutionize the weave/wig game
Diana Jackson I've seen some videos like that.
ModelingIzMyPassioN Can you sent me some links

it's called ventilating .. ( the process of making the closure from tracks) type in wig ventilating
You are a boss with the crochet method closure I need to learn how to do this on a full head of crochet. Can you please do a tutorial of how to do this on a full head of straight crochets.
