  • The camera died at the end but I was just waffling about the tracks and saying bye so you didn't miss any of the actual review :)
An in-box review of Cyberhobby [Dragon] 's T-34/76 No.112 Factory "Krasnoe Sormovo" Early Production. Comes with a couple of interesting options for different engine decks and track types and has exquisite moulding of the cast texture and weld seams, the norm from Dragon. The only downside I see is the lack of decal options, it just says to paint it green and put a combination on the supplied numbers on the turret. Reference time!
I was originally planning to enter this in my "Fall of the Reich" GB but I'll see if I can acquire a late-type turreted '34 as that would better fit the '45 era of my planned dio. I think I'll build this up on its own, sometime this summer :)

That was, a very, very good review my friend! I like how you explained all the parts and the subtle differences between each tank version. Bravo!

I have the NVA T34-85M made by Cyber Hobby/Dragon and the magic track links all have ejector marks. I probably wo't even bother to try and sand them away or putty and sand them. It would drain fun out of building it.

Thanks for the review. This is (the model T34/76) as the #1 tank of all times. Looking forward on seeing you build this one. Lot's of options for sure. I am wondering about the fit (being a Tamiya man) but I am slowly moving away from Tamiya as my skills improve. I may acquire a set of AM tracks for it, we will see as I have yet to build the magic tracks, but do have a couple of kits that have them. At least I know I won't be buying PE and barrel :)

Fit on their SU-85 that I built that shares the intire hull with this was excellent. Dragon almost always fits wonderfully, their only problems are the complex instructions and sometimes overly complex subassemblies. Example: the tool brakets on their StuG G I build were each 3 PE parts. Magic tracks are great too, though they aren't workable and they have little weight so you have to force them to sag.

    Another nice review.....
    Just some info for ya...
The Krasnoya Sormovo factory or Zavod in Russian was in Gorki....they produced some unigue T-34s with extra handholds, bullet splash armor around the turret race, distintive cast turret style, PTK-5 periscopes and sguare or cylindrical fuel tanks.
Looks like you got enough parts to build all the early variants, up to 1942. That single piece front plate sprue is for the 1940, 41 versions....the drivers hatch was much different than the later type.
Too bad they didn't include the very early L-11 gun or did they? That's my favorite version 1940 the best looking T-34 machining wise just a beautiful tank.

"Bullet splash armour?" What do you mean, like a spall liner or something? I thought all russian tanks had spall liners, though I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't lol
I've seen those square fuel tanks before, shame they don't have them in the kit, though... but the extra tracks set of weird tracks on the sprues are pretty sweet, something I've never seen before to it'd make a cool addition.
Oh yeah there's a ton of parts - I can probably build half of another T-34 with all the extras in this one and my mod.43 lol.
I don't think there's the early mod. 40 gun in there but I too agree that it looks really nice. The shape of the gun mantlet area is cool. My favourite-looking production version has to to be the mod. 42 like this one though, but with the ZiS-2 57mm AT gun - that looks really badass :)
But I guess just the F32 gun in this kit if I remember correctly, or was that the mod.43? Ah to many different versions lol

Bullet Splash Armor was just extra flat rectangular shaped armor on the outside of the hull around the turret sides and front....you see a similar thing on the Panzer IVs, the triangular shaped armor behind the hatches.
