I was lucky enough to come across this camera in near-mint condition for $50. It turned out to be one of my favorite cameras. The lens on this thing is gorgeous
Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the GX model has a maximum shutter speed 1/500th second, CC and CCN were slower 1/250th of a second and supported slower film just up to 400iso.
Is maximum shutter speed on this 1/250th? as per video. I thought Yashica electro 35 went up to 1/1000th of a second. And does anyone know if the shutter speed is shown in the OVF when taking a photo? Thanks.
Thanks for your Great Reviews. Unfortunately I missed out on obtaining your camera. Regarding the battery adapters, did you make them? Also with the battery alternatives, will you need to adjust the iso as the battery's voltage change? Unlike mercury batteries, the voltage remains constant throughout the life of the battery.
Just got one of these in great condition with a clear finder for 6600 yen delivered, phew! Getting harder and harder to find a film camera without a moldy finder and lens!
Hey Man! I'm a follower of your youtube channel from Spain, your videos about the yashica´s really helped me. I have a Yashica electro 35 GX from my grandfather and Im starting to use it (I saw your video to get her cleaned up, thank you) The thing is: I want to try a flash on it but I don't have the yashica es20 auto and i can't find it so I don't know how it works because the other electro´s have a mode for flash but this yashica don't. I saw that the Hyuga 303G flash works well with the Yashica but before I buy this flash I want to learn how to use it. I don't know how to expose to the light of it because which shutter speed will the camera use? Will she know that she got a flashlight on? You are the only person that can solve this problem because I don't know about anyone with this camera. Thanks for your time and help. Really appreciate it.
The GL goes to iso 1600 The GX is virtually identical but only goes to ISO 1000. Booth use silicon photodiode light meters where as all the other models far less accurate and less reliable CDS (Cadmium sulphide) light meters. They also both use the 40mm 1.7. All others use the 45mm 1.7.
Choose a wider aperture and the shutter will fire more quickly, so there will be less blur. These cameras have very slow shutter speeds if you fire them in low light and a small aperture, the shutter can stay open for more than 3 seconds.
@@japanvintagecamera8869 i see, and may i know is it normal for this particular camera have a loose feel on the trigger as we push it down.. And i mean need to push it all the way down before it make that "clunk" sound
It may be dirty and the clip is stuck, or something got into it. I have a video showing how to overhaul a Yashica GX, it shows how to remove the lens and ASA dial, you can easily see if there is anything stuck in it.

I believe this is correct.
The GX goes to iso 1000.

Where did you find the battery adapters?
Is it possible to use a 3rd party flash unit while keeping the auto-exposure functionality?
have you tried it with flash? how do I use this camera with flash?
do you have a link to the adapter you used for the batterys, thankyou

Do you know the history on the electro m5

Of all the yashica electro 35 cameras you reviewed, which one is your favorite?

Are you in the works of making videos of the Yashica Electro MC?
Hi, do you ship to Argentina? Thanks
Hai, im new to this camera.. On my first try shoot, all the photo look shaky.. I already set the right asa.. What might make the photo look shaky

Hello, how to find this lot on ebay?
Does it require batteries for operation?
@7:13, the battery check lamp is mentioned.
@@MichaelScheele Υes, I heard that, but will it operate without batteries?
@@AndersBjornTH It won't. The name "electro" stands for the electronically controlled leaf shutter
Without a battery the shutter will fire at 1/250th of a second. It is possible to use the camera without a battery, but with a limited exposure range.
