I replaced my leaking pan flush cone today, found that the easiest way to get it on the pan was to turn it inside out, put it up against the pan, then pull the rubber back to its normal position.

Yes, totally the way to go!! (Though I’m always happy to see other people’s techniques 😊)

Thanks for the presentation - I still miss how to open the pipe.

I just did this, but couldn't get it on the toilet with the pipe attached, so fought to get the seal on the toilet first, the connect the pipe... after a huge battle reconnecting the pipe to the cistern, gave it a test, and water is still spewing out of the seal! I could cry!!

You can have two sizes of flush cone and you can get a Christmas tree 🎄 style on that seals inside the pan be worth a try . If you are in a cold 🥶 environment try warm water 💦 to soften up the rubber

Thanks.. I looked at this but I ended up putting the flush cone in boiling water and then lubricating it with dishwashing liquid. Slipped on easily with a bit of a push and a coup[le of turns. I did this a couple of months ago fitting 2 x 5omm rubber joiners with hose clamps to an 80 year old galvanised drainage pipe. I didn't know how I was going to make it work because the joiners were much smaller than the pipe, so I rang a plumber I know and he told me the trick. Hope this helps.

If you need to expand a rubber hose hot water works well on smaller diameter hoses while they still warm you can push the nose of pliers inside then gently open them to expand the hose then get it on before it cools regards mike

I just replaced the pan cone (seal) on my toilet. I knew about the inside out trick which I find easier than the "rope trick" if you've got the room.

Some older toilet uses 40m pan cone. But some people don’t realise that they bought the wrong size flush pipe cone.

Some people put new cisterns on old pans and can't understand why they don't flush very well regards Mike

@@kisbushcraftdownunder because they don’t adjust it to the correct amount for half and full flush
