  • Spinosaurus (meaning "spined lizard") is an extinct genus of spinosaurid theropod dinosaur that existed in what is now North Africa during the Cretaceous period. Spinosaurus is the largest of all known carnivorous dinosaurs, even longer than Carcharodontosaurus, Giganotosaurus, and Tyrannosaurus rex at a length of 50 feet. It serves as the main antagonist of Jurassic Park III and the secondary antagonist of Season 4 of Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous.

To put this in perspective, this was before the Spinosaurus was introduced into the Jurassic Park Film Canon. In order to give the creature justice, we need to take a look back at the original spinosaurus which made its debut in Kanner toyline for the Lost World, where the animal would give its nickname "Slice" where it looked like a mix between the Megalosaurus and Dimetrodon. Then its last non-canon appearance would be in this game. Oddly enough this dinosaur would have the fighting style of the raptor and its smaller cousin the Suchomimus would be the biggest animal in the game. It does have a crocodilian-like snout, unlike its toy counterpart. This would be the last appearance of the old spinosaurus before its introduction in 2001's Jurassic Park III.
