  • In this video, Tim walks you through the steps to properly clean, prepare and install our Graphene Matrix Coating.
    Buy Graphene: ethoscarcare.com/products/gra...
    HOW TO PREP FOR APPLICATION
    ✔️Clean any loose dust, dirt and contaminants from the surface.
    ✔️Clay bar any rough embedded contaminants from the surface to ensure no impurities interfere with the coatings properties.
    ✔️Polish/Compound to remove any paint defects in the form of scratches, swirl marks and oxidation. Graphene Matrix is a semi permanent coating so once applied any defects will remain sealed underneath.
    ✔️Deep clean any polish oils or residues from the surface that could inhibit the bonding process using Ethos Detox.
    Prep:
    -Clean any loose dust, dirt and contaminants from the surface.
    -Clay bar any rough embedded contaminants from the surface to ensure no impurities interfere with the coatings properties.
    -Polish/Compound to remove any paint defects in the form of scratches, swirl marks and oxidation. Graphene Matrix is a semi permanent coating so once applied any defects will remain sealed underneath.
    -Deep clean any polish oils or residues from the surface that could inhibit the bonding process using Ethos Detox.
    -Remove any residual water that can be hiding underneath panel gaps, headlights or taillights that could drip out and affect the coating cure process.
    Installation Notes
    -Temperature and humidity can play a big factor in “flash” time (Time between application and when the coating is ready to be wiped off). We recommend applying in temperatures between 65-75*. In higher temperatures flash time will be expedited so first test using a small section to determine workability before moving onto the rest of the vehicle.
    -Graphene Matrix can be applied to any painted, plastic or glass surface (including windshield).
    Application Instructions:
    Make sure the surface has been completely cleaned and decontaminated with Ethos Detox. The cleaner the surface, the better the bond!
    -Shake bottle well.
    -Apply a few drops of Graphene Matrix onto your applicator until evenly covered.
    Starting with horizontal / top surfaces first, applying in straight lines slightly overlapping from one line to the next. Work in small areas approximately 3’x3’ or the size of a door or half a hood at a time. Temperature and humidity will determine coverage areas allowable between application and removal.
    -Applicators should glide smoothly on the surface while laying down an even layer of coating. If the applicator starts to drag or the application becomes inconsistent, apply additional drops to the applicator.
    -Immediately after application, You will notice a “Rainbow Effect” (More prevalent on dark colors) while the applied coating bonds to the surface. Roughly 1-3 min after application, the “Rainbowing” will start to turn into a haze/fog, this means the coating is ready for removal. (Temperature and humidity will affect this time, higher temp and humidity will greatly expedite the flash time)
    -As a rule of thumb, it is better to wipe off too soon, rather than too late. Removing the coating too late can lead to a tougher wipe off or the potential for streakiness or high spotting.
    -Using high quality microfiber towels, thoroughly wipe down the section to remove the Graphene Coating residue. Use small, circular motions and little to no pressure during removal. Be sure to check adjacent panels to make sure you haven’t “pushed” excess coating to other areas. (We recommend using a flashlight or smartphone light for inspection to make sure every bit of residue is gone. If you fail to remove all of the residue, it will become a dark spot once it cures)
    -Let the coating fully dry / cure for at least 48 hours before allowing it to get wet. If layering, allow one hour minimum cure time between first and second coat.
    Wash and maintain the coating as outlined in our maintenance protocols. www.ethoscarcare.com/coating-...

    1) What would be the regular maintenance and with what products?
    2) Do the towels need to be discarded?
    3) What surfaces other than paint are ok to coat and what durability? (wheels, trim, glass, ppf, etc)
    4) How the gloss and shine compares with SiO2 coatings?
    5) If water spots happen, how do I take them off?

      1) Regular maintenance would consist of routine washing with our Ceramic Shampoo and topping with our Defy.
      2) Yes, or rotate them to wheels or interior surfaces
      3) Any surface with similar durability
      4) Great, if not better!
      5) Chemical water spot remover or a light polish if they're etched.

    Tim this is a great informative video! I’m guessing you want a low nap microfiber for wipe off? I read the other question about windows, but can this be applied to the plastic trim and wheels, and if taken care of/ maintained throughout the year with a Graphene detailer how long can we reasonably expect this to last?
    48 hours in Florida in the summer always brings rain. Can we safely say 12 hours before exposing it to rain will be ok? I’m not trying to pin you down on every possibility just safe practices before giving it back to the customer. Thank you again for a great video. Russ at Perfect Shine of Jax.

    • @ethoscarcare
      @ethoscarcare  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Russel, really glad you found some value!
      Yes, low nap is best as it has a little more "Bite" without grabbing onto the coating.
      Yes Glass and Trim are perfectly safe for it to be applied to.
      We stand behind the 5 year metric with ongoing maintenance, regardless if it is garaged or not.
      12 hours should definitely be fine for rain water, I'd avoid any hard sprinkler water or exposure to chemicals.

Is there any evidence that applying two coats will increase durability by a significant amount? To my understanding, a graphene coating consists of one single layer on the paint surface but I can be mistaken!

    • @ethoscarcare
      @ethoscarcare  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yes, two layers is recommended for maximum protection and longevity. Not so much to build up extra thickness but to ensure more even coverage of the layer and to fill in any potential "thin" or "missed" spots during the first application.

    Wow, that looks like a fantastic product, Tim! I have seen some GREAT reviews of it so far. I do have a quick question. I just recently bought a new 2021 vehicle and put on two coats of Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray Coating, which I've been maintaining with their HS Ceramic Wash & Wax and their Ceramic Wet Wax as a drying aid. If I wanted to try the Ethos Graphene Matrix Coating, what would I need to do to remove the TW products? I don't really need paint correction, so I'd rather not polish unless it was absolutely necessary. Plus, all of this is new to me, and polishing is a bit out of my comfort zone right now. If there is a simple way to remover the old TW products without the polishing step, that would be great. Thanks!

      One coat is rated to last 5 years, 2 coats can be even longer.

      50ml would cover a palisade with 2 coats.

    Is the Graphene coating just a ceramic coating with SI02 and graphene added?

    • @ethoscarcare
      @ethoscarcare  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No this is a Graphene coating, we did not mix it with Sio2.

    Don’t graphene molecules need to be arranged in a pattern to actually work and they have to 1 atom thick. How is that even possible in a spray bottle

    Only one detail , maybe wearing a mask while applying the coating in order to avoid droplets of saliva " from talking " from falling on the surface of the coated area .
