Yes, Sonam Wangchuk ji is right. I am a native of uttarakhand, a himalayan state, and have seen jungles burning day in and day out, not a drop of rain when it should have rained much before, persistent humidity with the need for fans at altitudes above 2000m for the first time in life (where 2-3 years back thick quilts were used even during summer time). We as citizens must not see a government as only right or only wrong. Multiple projects have been launched in the Himalayan states, which is a very ecosensitive region on which the world depends and that should not be tampered with. From road expansion projects which are dangerous for this ecosystem and its beings, to hydel, and even oil palm plantations in the north east region of India are taking place, all of which are a big no. Who is the government planning to sell palm oil to when companies are being asked to bring out product variants with no palm oil? Is this how we will gain oil sufficiency in the country, by removing chunks of natural forests for replacing with monocultures of palm oil producing trees? The collapse of our hilly regions in recent times is deeply linked to this and we need to realize it soon, spread the word and ask questions until all this replaced with ecologically sound policies. Sorry to see that this is nowhere in mainstream news and this video itself has very few views and comments.
Then we have to stop the tourism business.on one side we need lots of tourism and on the other side we are criticized the govt. I don't think it's good
A country needs "atleast 33%" of forest cover to protect the wildlife and ecosystem.but in India we have 21% of it.and due to the industries these ecosystem are damaged severely.we need to reduce the carbon emissions, usage of plastics which are harmful for our posterity.Remember our Earth take thousands of years to create this wonderful scenic places but we humans are becoming sin to earth.I am very happy if you try to change after seeing this comment.Thank you

Active participation is needed from every indian to reverse climate change. Govt needs to consider a number of things before making policy changes and we can't wait for that to happen. As citizens we need to reduce our own caebon footprint to help the climate crisis 1. Start shifting to renewable source of energy like solar for atleast half of the day's energy need for your household 2. Commit to stop consumption of animal products and shift to a plant based diet 3. Rain water harvesting at home or in the society to top up water reserves for household chores and drinking 4. Use public transport as much as possible for travel 5. Garbage management for organic and inorganic waste to help proper recycling of household waste. Small changes in life like not throwing garbage on streets and not cutting a corner while opening a packet of oil or dal as the small piece remains undetected in the recycling process and creates heaps of garbage. 6. Buying less clothes from fast fashion brands. Textile industry is one of the largest industries in terms of it's water consumption and pollution. 7. Most importantly, make yourself aware and inspire others in your surrounding to make small environment friendly changes in their lives. Speak up now, there is no PlanetB.

while it makes sense for Ladakis to include the area in the 6th schedule, it is not good from a security POV and in the future things might change. Surely govt can easily come up with a solution but I am surprised this has dragged this long
But the government is also under pressure to improve infrastructure because China is developing its logistics and infrastructure in those areas, as China has always focused on such activities near border regions. Regarding carbon emissions, we should focus more on R&D to control pollution, as we need to run many industries and factories to provide jobs for our large population. Therefore, we must figure out a balanced approach to preserve natural resources while supporting economic growth.
