A British Skykid TH-camr ranks all the sky seasons in Sky COTL again as the first ranked video is old and there is new seasons out which I want to talk about and the last season ranked video is now one of the most popular videos on my channel now, which was something which is something that I did not expect. Because of these reasons, I have decided that I would make another video on ranking all the Sky seasons with the new seasons which I had not previously ranked before (these including Passage, Moments, Revival and Nine Colored deer!)
In this video, you will find an in-depth review of the seasons or Remembrance, Passage, Moments, Revival and Nine Coloured Deer. I won't be able to rank the seasons beyond this point as this video was originally recorded in January 2024 (and this video is a couple of months late to release mainly due to how large-scaled this video was to edit. You will also find the results for the survey which I had conducted on finding out about your opinions on the recent Sky Seasons and then ranking all the Sky Seasons again with a brief summary about why I had ranked them in their position.
This video took a very long time to make (over 3 months to be exact). About 12hrs of audio recordings and like 50 hours to edit the rest of the video! This is one of the biggest videos I have ever put together and although I had a lot of technical problems in making this video (hence the video not being out until March!) mainly due to the sheer size of this project, I am really proud of how this video has turned out. I hope y’all enjoy this video as this was probably the most painful video I have ever made and has absolutely fried my PC from the inside out (Fun fact CapCut crashed on me like 10 times when making this, my PC crashed 5 times). Also apologies for some spelling errors, I struggled to edit them due to my PC exploding when trying to edit text lol!

Psa: Season of revival is actually the tutorial.
The "eden" quest is actually the introduction to the main story of sky. If you start from the beginning the steward will direct you to the isle portal and encourage the player to complete the main realms. And then after completing your first cycle will introduce you to the concept of seasons.
This does however make the season feel a little redundant to old players, but now that more seasons have been introduced since then most players who will be doing revival will be completing it as the tutorial.

True, Sanctuary was insane…. But rhythm was awesome too!! And enchantment was really moving… especially when the area changed… that was the first time we had an area transform like that in sky…. So emotional 🥲
Worst season was Shards for me…. So lonely… so long…. And so boring after the first week….

Here's my personl ranking of all the seasons in this video:

N. 5, Moments.
Season of moments was my second seson and BY FAR the worst one. I was really hyped at the reveal trailer, i thought the camera was a great addition, and the new giant area looked very promising. However, the season itself had very little to actually offer: all the quests were simply a variation of "go fotograph that thing", and after completing the mission there wasn't anything interesting to do. The moments cosmetics were generally mid, the ultimte rewards especially being the worst set of ults in the entire game in my opinion. The large map was interesting, but quickly became boring once realised there's nothing interesting in it besides 3 winged lights (seriously, me and most people i know basically haven't gone there since the season ended)
Also despite being very fun, i never use the camera, since i usually bring around instruments instead and just use the screenshot button.
Number 4, Revival.
Revival falls into a "jack of all traits, master of none" problem: the cosmetics are reminiscent of older seasons or of basegame spirits, so they either feel like copies of older cosmetics, or items that should’ve been in the basegame alredy. The quests were extremely boring as i had already completed all required past season quests, the firework festival was extremely forgettable and, most importantly, aviary village feels extremely underwhealming. It's supposed to be a small village with shops that can be used as a social area, but it just feels like a long corridor with glorified closets to the sides. The area feels very small, the shops feel feey same-y and don't actually sell anything, there's no chat benches or social light that could encourage players to actually use it as a social hub. Also, it's way worse than what was shown in the aviary project teaser: we were promised a town with large buildings, boats, bustling with player interactions, instead we got a place i barely even visit, and the times i do is because things that could've easily been in both home and aviary village (like the daily seasonal candle, travelling spirits and event guides), are exclusive to aviary village.
Number 3, remembrance.
Ranking this one a bit low because i haven't actually played it, but it's pretty much tied with number 2 in terms of execution.
I LOVED the vibe of this season. Sky, as a game set in a post-war world, has the potential to tell extremely meaningful and heartfelt stories. And it's in the vault of knowledge that we find the spirits that have suffered trough this war, as we help them trough their pain and see them reconnect, it's one of the only 3 times i cried while plying sky. The cosmetics on this seson are also really interesting: they vary in style but keep the same rugged vibe (also i get to cosplay as an old timey british child and that alone is enough for a high vote). The ults were also really unique and interesting, and this season enhanced shared spaces and gave more utility to props.
Number 2, Nine Colored Deer.
Despite not being over yet, NCD is an amazing season, with great charcters, emotes and concepts. The oriental vibe this season offers is a great concept for the cosmetics and seasonal area, which looks stunning. The story is also very interesting, I'm happy that tgc adapted this tale into sky. If I have to say something bad about it, it's that besides the feudal lord and some of the princess items, the other cosmetics this season seem very bland, given what potential this season has to offer. Also oh my god the game was UNPLAYABLE when this season came out. Constant crashes, unobtainable spirits, iaps not working, game not being able to open, it was pure madness.
Number 1, Passage.
This may be nostalgia speaking, but passage was my first season and its very close to my heart. Do i think it's the best season? No. Most season between little prince and aurora are my favourites actually, with performance taking the crown as n.1 favourite IMO. But still, passage has a good theme, great lore implications, the masks look very interesting, the spirits were fun and relatable, the seasonal area is a great twist of the first area you visit in the game (also im a sucker for night skies in videogames), the emotes were fun and very expressive (lv 2 roll for the win). The quests were fun and honestly what i expected in a social game. As for festival tech, i don't get the hate. Sky's a social game, i really enjoyed seeing so many other players, way more than the usual 8, work with me to move giant spheres of light around or create a passage for light in hidden forest. I found festival tech fun and interesting rather than annoying.
My personal opinion is that after season of aurora, sky has been declining with the quality of seasons that have been coming out: i had much more fun playing older seasons while they were inactive, than living trough live seasons like revival or moments. I hope sky raises the quality bar higher again, becuse i feel like i lost the "golden age" of sky in a way.

(small thing that I'm sure someone's already mentioned but..) You can absolutely get back to Aviary from Harmony Hall if you entered from Aviary. If you turn around and go out the same door you entered from (the one that normally leads to VoD) it will take you right back to Aviary. If you enter from VT or VoD, however, it will take you back to those locations. So not a perfect fix but still helpful if you just want to pop in and do the daily sheet music or something.

also the Wind Paths are sooo helpful once you figure them out. Or should I say wind "path" because it's really just the one that goes in a loop around the area. I most often use it to get to geyser quickly, but I also like to hop into Cave of Prophecy and Hermit Valley to quickly grab the treasure candles there. If you enter the Wind Paths from Aviary (which is 20x easier than trying to get to the entrance in Forest), it pops you right into the wind path loop as soon as you enter the area. Then you just have to wait until your "stop" and sort of lean out of the wind path to go through the tunnel. Stops in order are: Cave of Prophecy, Sanctuary Islands, Starlight Desert, Forgotten Ark, Hermit Valley, Underground Cavern, then back to Aviary. Each "stop" looks a bit like the area you can go to so you can tell which one it is. The Wind Paths cut my travel time in half or more for all of these locations, which is especially handy for geyser, but also helpful whenever I need to do a WL run, shards, or quests.

im watching this while watching the video, so im not sure if you mentioned this near the end yet, but the aviary village is actually the NEW default home. The new skykids fall down into the aviary village, and the hopeful stewards quests are actually now technically the mainline quests of the game. So that's why eden was the fourth quest. The fourth quests for aviary village skykids will be completing all realms in sky from isle of dawn, to vault of knowledge, then eye of eden. Then when they finish eye of eden, they will fall into the aviary village again, and do the couple of season quests that were jammed into the hopeful stewards quests. Hopefully that wasn't too hard to read. So basically, home is not THE home anymore!!!

More about the Season of Moments Camera and actually thanks to it. Asides from the Amazing Short Films from the Global Communities, BiliBili, a China video services like TH-cam celebrate Lunar New Year by calling creators to make amazing contents including Animation, Actual Original Sky Music (no not using in-game instruments, actual Music done by Computer Music Making Programs and actual Vocals), Comedy Sketches and even yes Feature Films using Camera and possibility Festival Tech!

my favourite season will always be the little prince season 😍 that season was absolutely gourgeus. i really like the emotes and the cosmetic, also the quests were fantastic. my favourite part was the story and the seasonal area is so beautiful
