I don't think enough people acknowledge the visuals of ED 5. This ED reminds me so much of the happier days. When Eren, Mikasa, Armin, and all the other cadets only had to worry about training. When they were all friends and none of them had to worry about dying. I always focus on Reiner and Bertholdt when I watch this ED. I wish it didn't have to turn out this way.

For everyone else, Eren became the devil, but Mikasa is madly in love with him no matter what and knows the part of him that reflects the angel. And she followed him to the very end of his fall into the depths of hell. The red scarf given to her by Eren is just the perfect analogy for the red thread of fate for them.

Some people are simply either too young and unable to understand the whole essence of what is happening, or they simply cannot read between the lines.
I've always loved Mikasa as a character and felt from the very beginning of the manga that she would be insanely important to the plot as a whole. With a writer like Isayama, the importance of the opening scene shouldn't be underestimated. And there are actually two of them, at the very beginning of the manga and on page 13. In both cases, she is drawn FIRST.
This story began with Mikasa, Eren and Armin, and it will end with them, because this is THEIR story. And returning over and over to the old chapters, I found more and more details, especially after chapter 138. Isayama truly is an amazing writer.

Last night's episode killed me.... ymir's letter and eren and armin realising they wont live for long more... i cried all the 20+ minutes...
And how i got the chills when Christa cried, when eren said SHINGEKI... NO... KYOJIN reluctantly realising who he really is and Levi looking afraid that he might even lose his new squad and eren.... i just lost it. Attack on titan leaves u speechless. Not the way kuzu no honkai left me sobbing but the way hunger games sparked the hope in me for a non existing nation. How everyone loses the ones they love yet they still fight. They dont give up. If it wasnt for AOT i would have commited suicide a year ago. But the night i decided to hang that rope, i watched one more episode for the nostalgia and then the TATAKAE scene came on and.... i lost it. I sobbed the whole night and the next morning i woke up and threw away the rope and tore the suicide note apart. I fight. And as a character said ONE LOSES ONLY WHEN THEY STOP FIGHTING. AS LOG AS U FIGHT ON U HAVENT LOST.
Those sayings gave me hope and a light to follow into the darkness. Thanks, Hajime Isayama. You saved a life even if u dont know it. I know noone will see this comment but i wanted to share it so bad...

Best wishes. Anime definitely made a impact on my life and attack on titan has made me realize that this isn’t a story about humans vs titians but rather a story about human characteristics.

God damn it I started this anime as a 13 year old kid and now I'm 21 years old.
Watching this ending brings me close to tears because I recognize every scene I saw as a kid 8 years ago yet I clearly remember them.
Seeing the crew's dorm room empty at that last shot really saddens me because of the meaning it has for me as a manga reader and also as a long time fan. It'll be a strong hit for me the day I read the final chapter of the manga and the day I watch the final episode of the anime.
Back when I started attack on titan I was just getting into anime and was watching naruto , death note , full metal and alot more animes but as the years went by I slowly stopped watching new things and stuck to on going ones but they too ended as time went by and now, I'll be witnessing the ending of the final one, my favorite, attack on titan.
