Love Derek Trucks! What an amazing group of musicians! ... but then with Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood, you would expect the best of the best musicians with them.
Doesn't get any better than this. ❤ A classic Blind Faith masterpiece, sung by the Masters, with guitars that are so brilliant they shine. 💎💎 What a treat. Great reaction Handsome Harri ❤❤ Thanks Anne warmed my heart. 👏👏 Cheers from Canada ❤❤🇨🇦🇨🇦
There was an article in a magazine in1967 London titled "The Magnificent 7 of Guitarist" 1. Eric Clapton 2. Jimmy Hendricks 3. Pete Townsend 4. Jeff Beck 5. Jimmy Page 6. Steve Winwood 7. Peter Green Winwood is not given enough props for how great of a guitarist he is. He can play any instrument on that stage.
AGREED!!!! - NOT better than Peter Green, But GREAT Guitarist & MULTI-Instrument Musician! - Those Guys were just GENIUS Musicians then! & MOSTLY Self TAUGHT! - Don't think Townsend should be anywhere near that list though! Lol 😂 At that Time CLAPTON, BECK, GREEN & Buddy Guy are at the Top! (In No particular Order!)
i was so excited when hearing rumors about a band called blind faith. waited for the album to come out, checking with record stores. finally got one and loved it. still do. on my top ten list too. their sound puts me in a sea of joy when i can't find my way
Mate, you had to have been there in the 1960's. These two . There is nothing to compare to how we felt about these guys. There was only the one Blind Faith album. But... my God. The stars and planets aligened
Anne - It is hardly a secret that I place Clapton and Winwood among the most significant artists since the 1960s. "Presence of the Lord" is a superb submission choice and I love it. Very well done and much appreciated to hear them anytime.
Harri please check out Blind Faith playing live in Hyde park 1969 doing this song. Stevie’s singing is unbelievable and they are so young it also shows the crowd at that time. Great stuff thx
"I have finally found a way to live In the colour of the Lord." About 1970 I suggested to my friends "Maybe Jesus could come back as a molecule." Trippy times. I'm a Naturalist now, I consider the LP "Blind Faith" to be among my Top Ten.
For me, it's vital to recognize the trauma of this song's birth. 1968 was a year of cultural cataclysm. Defying power, speaking truth to power by using power's language, sometimes seeming to toe the line, was a very important part of that artistic expression. The color of the lord, seems to me, to evoke the idea of political submission. Weird, I guess, that I never before associated it with the Vietnam war.
Nonsense. He wrote this in 1969 when he had formed Blind Faith. The song was about his new home Hurtwood Edge in England around this period, where he still lives.
Clapton and Winwood heavily studied the blues, along with its related musical styles, including gospel. I don't know what these guy's faith is, but this is coming from musical tradition as much as anything else.
Harri I love your reaction videos -the best IMO so please keep them coming ! Regarding this songs it is a oldie. Recorded in 1969 by the supergroup Bind Faith (Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker from Cream and Steve Winwood and Rick Grech from Traffic). I'm not sure who wrote it but I suspect it was Winwood/Clapton. I don't think any of the band was that religious and it has always puzzled me why it was written and included on the one album they made. Blind Faith were short lived. They did a tour of the States but were best known for the free concert they performed in Hyde Park (I was there !) in 1969. I have a reaction request for you if may. From the Live From Lorely concert (certainly the best version) Sugar Mice by Marlillion. Love & Peace, Peter A.
I forgot to say thank you. Derek and the Dominos, Blind Faith (refer to my previous comment), Cream, and Jack Bruce's Songs for a Taylor are wonderful works. And if you've not listened to the Afro Celt Sound System, you should.
Greatest miracles of God, to rescue one of His who went astray and not leave them stranded in debilitating error of their sins when they call out in Jesus’ name.
One thing that I find odd....about dozen or so guitarists about as if to ensure that there is enough to go through the song. With Clapton there should not be the need, no matter how important moment it would be to reminisce it later, having played with Clapton & Winwood.
Winwood and Clapton are tremendous together. Every video of them performing together is well worth watching.
there is another star on stage . Derek Trucks playing slide heaven
Love Derek Trucks! What an amazing group of musicians! ... but then with Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood, you would expect the best of the best musicians with them.
I just made this very comment and then saw yours.
You may like to hear the original they did back in 1969 ~ they were like 21 years old then. The entire Blind Faith album is fire!
Amen :-)

This song is criminally under reacted to. Thanks, Harri, for reacting to this wonderful song

C'mon Brother... stealing verses is a sacrilege, makes me feel like I had to cry today. Stay cool.

Saw Eric and Steve in Denver at the Pepsi Center June 21, 2009. They blew the roof off the joint!

I was there at Hyde Park London in 1969 to witness this wonderful song, by Blind Faith.
From the Blind Faith album (1969) . Clapton's guitar solo sounds just like this on the album.

Steve Winwood elevates any performance
I love to listen to this two guys!! 😍😍 You are right about Clapton voice! I´ve always loved to ear him singing!

What an amazing pair of singers. Thanks Anne and Harri.
An old Blind Faith song; love it!
Clapton wrote this as a teenager.
Nonsense. He wrote this in 1969 when he had formed Blind Faith. The song was about his new home Hurtwood Edge in England around this period, where he still lives.

Classic!!
Many thanks, Anne, for this great request. Thanks, Harri, for your reaction.
That's right! Rock n' Roll for Jesus!
This so very awesome! This is my first time hearing this and I love it! Love your reaction!
Thank you very much Harri.

Excellent 👌 ❤
Saw them together in st.paul, mn.
It's called a key change (tonic to relative minor) right before the solo. Vamping is maintaining a groove whilst the singer goes to pee.
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

Derek Trucks & Doyle Bramhall II....sign me the f up....have you reacted to Tedeschi Trucks band yet???

Steve should be knighted, too.
EC did this 50 years ago while he was an addict. So not sure he had a lot of religion.
You can be an addict and believe in God.
@@paulschut5873 Could I guess.
Patty-I believe Mick Jagger rejected the honor of being knighted.
Blind Faith an all too short "super group." Clapton, Winwood, Ginger Baker and Ric Grech produced only one album.
