The way I understood their post is that the armour is just a customization option. IE like the necklaces bracelets on some races. So the armour isn't transmogable, its just what your dracthyr form will look like. Overall super stoked on them
And still worried, they don't look that good, the chest area does not look that way bigger for a customization, though I must say you can give them more biceps/delts. But the real issue is that horrible cats look when they are human, they are horrible, whoever designed it and they gave the ok... they should be fired, some scales here, some scales there, human face, that's it, is like cats the new movie. Horrible...
I like that they’ve addressed the concern about the general body shape of the Dracthyr. While I don’t think it does enough for those who want to be really bulky I do think it’s a strong start and if nothing else a decent compromise. Personally my dude is gonna be at 3/4.
I love this update, there is so much to see and you noticed even more little points of customization than I did! The arm spikes, the way the jaw/eyebrow features seem to match, and the two-tone color patterns to name a few. Each new thing I see about these guys has me so excited, this many options is incredible. I think some of my favorites have to be those icy looking horns on the dark blue individual in the second pic, and the mane-like neck decoration from the headshots page. Wow the time I spend playing with all these options is gonna rival the time I take making my Skyrim characters 😅 Thanks for a great video, this was exactly what I was looking for after I saw the blog post!
I love it. I love that they are not as bulky as people asked, cause they are casters and i dont see actual wow dragons being that BULKY themself in proportion to their size (they even got a big kultiran belly). I love the blue one that resemble soooo much to malygos and i hope i can transmog it with Dragonira
These new designs for the Dracthyr look good. I especially love their armor and some of the new head customizations (personal favorite is blue and red one in the middle). Though I think they could add some more bulk and muscle options for them instead of just four. Maybe some spikes on the arms and legs, too, just for fun.

They’re draconic supersoldiers, I don’t exactly expect them to follow the same rules as reality. There are also Drac’thyr NPCs that use the model of the male stoneborn from Revendreth, which are quite large and bulky.
@@OakenTome those were Draconids. Which are Mortals that have been corrupted by Dragon influence to mutate into those forms. Dracthyr on the other hand are a type of actual dragon. But they are very different.
I’m hoping we get some stronger jawlines, shorter necks, and more well-defined heads. This is an improvement for sure, but there’s definitely more progress to be made imo.

The fins/back of the neck are called a crest in the lizard world. If it goes down their whole back it's a dorsal crest. Under the chin is called a dewlap 😁. Love the content you create. Always find so much more information from your videos.
The art department team did carry them that is correct, but now they are part of the problem by changing women to fruit, or put more cloth to skimpy armor, I wonder why that is not a problem in other companies... ah... that's right, because of the sexual assaults they suffered, because they overcorrected, because their main HQ of operations is in california, the place where you need to pay high taxes to maintain the utopia, the utopia of woke and cancel culture. There seems to be many customization options for the dracthyr form. That red armor looks really cool. I'm also curious about the visage forms, with the different hairstyles.
It looks like Dracthyr are going to be really customizable, which I like a lot. Looks like we’re gonna get some Draenei-esque metal horn tips and piercings and jewelry, too. Which I love. We’ll see them in action come tomorrow(?) - or whenever the alpha comes out and whoever gets it gets it.
I'm really happy with the customization options. If they only had the lanky option available, I'd probably never have played one. Might even have skipped the expac altogether
i believe they said before that dragon form armor will be able to be selected in character creation or barbershop, so like jewelry's for other races so these are likely not separate sets that you can get from drops or something. It does look like a good deal of customization can be done either way. Remains to be seen if some of these options are linked to one another which is often the case in WoW character creator or if they can each be changed out separately which would be ideal for maximum customization. Different body types also seem good now, before it was a bit too skinny but now this looks way better and i personally wouldn't necessarily want to go higher than that 4th option, that seems ideal for males, and maybe 2nd for females
I love beast-like humanoids. And in general the level of customization and the quantity of options is awesome! My only complaint is that i wish there was a hypermasculine body style available - maybe something Tauren- or worgen-like
Hope they have animal print pattern options a tiger-striped dragon would be dope👍🏼 Still disagree with the locked into one specialization either damage or healing to me that was an awful idea plenty of people would love to make a warrior, mage, rogue, hunter and so on that's a dragon
they only did it for lore reasons, i know we will get more classes with time, it just doesnt make sense to do it when they're just waking up from a 10,000 year slumber and they were bred/trained to use aspect power.
they need to add a neck option, making the neck a little stubbier or shorter would make them look so much more draganoid the lanky ness makes them look snakey
While I do like the body options I think option 4 should increase the head size as well to give them better proportions. But, I'm still excited to finally make a dracthyr!
I really hope they eventually do add all mail armour for them for transmog. Even if they just kept working on it in the back ground after release. Other then that the customisation is amazing. I doubt you'll ever see the same dracthyr twice.

They look ok, but man I feel like they could have been so much cooler. I really wanted to play a beefed out, sword wielding, fire breathing monster. But who knows maybe that's just my zug zug brain taking over lol.
I'd imagine that the options would be Horns (obvious selection), "beard" (option for down the front of the neck), "Side burns" (option for back of the jaw), "hair" (spikes/fins down the back of the head)
I think my biggest issue is that I just don't like the rigging for their standing/idle animation, however, not only do I agree with the sentiment that the larger model isn't "beefy" enough, I also feel that the smallest model isn't scrawny enough either. Its a long standing issue for WoW, but the singular body types for each race has always limited customisation more than anything else, and Blizzard's attempts to fix the issue in the past pretty much led to Kul Tiran Humans, and while those models are good, people were hoping originally that Kul Tirans would have the standard human model, the bulky this-is-what-Anduin-Lothar-the-last-true-blooded-Arathorian-is-suppose-to-look-like model _and_ an improved version of the scrawny deck scrubber model that we see in many places around Kul Tiras. Instead we got the Human-Vrykul missing-link model with very indistinct faces. Compared to _that_ issue, the choices for the Dracthyr are amazing. The head options alone are superior to all other races. Forsaken are the only race with any real facial uniqueness. Different head shapes and sizes for all races would not go amiss. I'd rather campaign for the Dracthyr design philosophy to be applied to other races before really complaining about them not being swoll enough. As for the rigging, I dunno, I guess it reminds me too much of the female Worgen rigging, which is my least favourite version of the bestial hindquarters stance.

Would it be possible (and of interest) for Blizz to make more customizations for the other races, and let players unlock them as rewards? I think a big part of the community would love to unlock new character options. I certainly would. I'd rather grind/ farm/ work towards a new undead face- or hairstyle than a piece of gear. Gear is temporary, character options are forever.
Hmm one thing escaped me is I wonder if they have a Flight Form like a Druid? Would be nice and fitting if they turn in to a Drake of the color they are.
I love the armor sets and can't wait to play with the character creation. And is it just me, or does that last set on the white Dracthyr look highly reminiscent of Moon Knight?
I'll try them because I love healing, but Evokers need to find their way to at least one other race per faction. Maybe the Shamanic races. Those dragons are fine but long term I don't know.

I really want thicker hulk type dragons. My biggest issue with these though is going from 1-4, the head size stays the same. The head size starts to remind me of Beetlejuice’s shrunken head by the time you get to “the thickening”. Overall I do like the customizations though.

I'm surprised how many options are available. It looks like we can make them appear to be from any group of dragons. Aside from the Netherwing, Nightmare and Infinite Dragonflights, but even then you can get fairly close. A few more options and we'd be able to make Faerie Drakthyr, Cloud Serpent Drakthyr and even Frostwyrm themed. When I first saw the different body shapes, there was barely a difference. I'd like to see them push it a bit further. Adjust the height, proportions a bit maybe. Right now it's just making the arms and torso slightly thicker/thinner and it wont really be noticeable under the armor. Speaking of, their armor is still a question. Is it something that we pick when making the character, can it be upgraded when doing content/getting pieces of armor. I assume while in our elf form, we'll be using whatever armor/mog we make like any other character. Looking forward to hearing more about the Drakthyr specific armor.
During the reveal, i really felt like these didn't fit into wow at all, but overall good changes, they should have most of those for the reveal just to avoid the initial reactions. The armour does the most though. Now i am only worried that no other race will get anything for dragonflught release and that will straight up be stupid. Adding a hairstyle, scar, tattoo etc is not hard. If they release scaly bait with more options than some other races have combined, i hope they will get shit on.
“They look sort of lizard like” um yes, dragons are very reptilian and lizard like, does anyone not know the characteristics of dragons? Lol, they literally embody everything us humans are deathly afraid of, some of which are lizards and snakes and stuff. But on a more serious note, I’m loving the sheer amount of options they are giving them. Now if they could just give both curvy and super bulky body times to give more feminine and masculine touch to males and females, along with a few more wing variations, they’d be perfect. So looking forward to making one of these things.
My only concern I really have is if they use the worgen movement to go with the worgen like legs there. My biggest fear is that my female Dracthyr will waddle like the female Worgen, it is THE only thing that drove me away from Which was my fav race untill they made that running animation change.
Still think they need to make them bigger, males especially, like the draknoids that have been in the game since the beginning. But it makes a difference. Hoping for bodysliders for past races, fat orcs, skinny male draenei, beer gut dwarves, muscled pandaren
The dragon forms are fine, sure they could be beefier, but what about the humanoid forms? The humanoid forms look like NPCs from a Bethesda game from 20 years ago. I’m not sure why, after they revamped the human models, they thought those humanoid dracthyr models would fly.
eso lets you customize your character's body shape and that leads to a ton of clipping issues and makes certain armor look really weird, it's the only reason why i'm ok with not being able to customize your character's body shape in wow.
What are they going to do about Legion and the Drakes? Are they going to make them a whole class order hall with weapons and armors to allow them to quest through that expansion? (I know there starting at 60 and when dragon flight drops, they go through to 70, but I'm think after the fact.)

They will likely unlock that later in the expansion. Locking them down at start means less animations they need to have ready at launch.

My 2c is the armor is similar to how you 'customise' pocopoc , ie: a selection of choices rather than specific transmog ability

I'm hoping that the Evoker tier set appearances will show up on Dracthyr form since they'll be the sole users of the set.

I suspect jewelry is also an option. The header for the page shows the two dracthyr with some jewelry on their horns.

Speaking of, their armor is still a question. Is it something that we pick when making the character, can it be upgraded when doing content/getting pieces of armor. I assume while in our elf form, we'll be using whatever armor/mog we make like any other character. Looking forward to hearing more about the Drakthyr specific armor.
During the reveal, i really felt like these didn't fit into wow at all, but overall good changes, they should have most of those for the reveal just to avoid the initial reactions. The armour does the most though. Now i am only worried that no other race will get anything for dragonflught release and that will straight up be stupid. Adding a hairstyle, scar, tattoo etc is not hard. If they release scaly bait with more options than some other races have combined, i hope they will get shit on.
the armor on the dracthyr dragon form is only for the dragon form, its a race customization option
I'm very happy about how they look so far! I do feel like the head looks a little too small compared to the 'bulkiest' body tho?
The second one from the left in the top row looks like one of the horns might be bent. The one in the back. Might be an optical illusion though.

They should give a tone customization to dracthyr because some people like them slim and some want them to be more buff

“They look sort of lizard like” um yes, dragons are very reptilian and lizard like, does anyone not know the characteristics of dragons? Lol, they literally embody everything us humans are deathly afraid of, some of which are lizards and snakes and stuff. But on a more serious note, I’m loving the sheer amount of options they are giving them. Now if they could just give both curvy and super bulky body times to give more feminine and masculine touch to males and females, along with a few more wing variations, they’d be perfect. So looking forward to making one of these things.

My only concern I really have is if they use the worgen movement to go with the worgen like legs there. My biggest fear is that my female Dracthyr will waddle like the female Worgen, it is THE only thing that drove me away from Which was my fav race untill they made that running animation change.
Still think they need to make them bigger, males especially, like the draknoids that have been in the game since the beginning.
But it makes a difference.

i am pretty happy with what theyve done but at the same time being a balance druid main feel kinda screwed over with character custom customisationlol
I think the body shapes need to be more vivid. Make them bigger and beefier for sure.

The dragon forms are fine, sure they could be beefier, but what about the humanoid forms? The humanoid forms look like NPCs from a Bethesda game from 20 years ago. I’m not sure why, after they revamped the human models, they thought those humanoid dracthyr models would fly.
eso lets you customize your character's body shape and that leads to a ton of clipping issues and makes certain armor look really weird, it's the only reason why i'm ok with not being able to customize your character's body shape in wow.

The armor look like plate, mail, cloth and leather, but I guess is just a customization because they are only one class and use mail.

the heads have to change with at least options 2 and 4, its a bit odd to have the heads fixed
What are they going to do about Legion and the Drakes? Are they going to make them a whole class order hall with weapons and armors to allow them to quest through that expansion? (I know there starting at 60 and when dragon flight drops, they go through to 70, but I'm think after the fact.)
