i decided to binge watch inspector koo because of your edit and it was totally worth it ! thank you very much for this video :D
this is the only romance (in the present of the show) shown on screen and the fact that it is a gay explicit relationship really left a deep impression ! with a female centered show, I expected at least one straight romance but not at all and I do not complain.
even though there are very few moments showing their romance, we could feel all the love between them, how keon wook was acting totally different with dae-ho and k, how he was sending heart eyes to dae-ho and etc. The actors did a pretty good job in portraying that. and i want more of them !
however I feel like that it could have been better.
! spoiler alert !
after the "breakup" of the two, the storyline felt a bit weak : keon wook was not well at all and he also fell back into drinking again coz he is really heartbroken. koo finds him and warns him and then he got hurt by the right man of chief young sook. then he went to dae-ho's house. Dae-ho denounced him to the police. He escaped the police and then continue to work with k and he drinks more and more heavily. and after he got shot and send to hospital, we only saw a brief scene of dae ho watching keon wook. and that is all for them. Five line can summarize the end of their story. and his problem with alcohol is not explained at all.
that is why I think a second season will happen. in all inspector koo, a lot of things was not explained : the childhood of k, the identity of santa, what happened with mr.jang and the student,... and also the past of keon wook. We have a scene where k takes the necklace of keon wook and says that his lover doesn't know who he really is (1:13 in the video). And the fact that him and the guy killed during the boat party have the same tattoo. we only know that they were in the same juvenile reformatory and the tattoo was to mimic the mafia and they can't forget each other after getting out of jail (episode 9) but that's all. there must be a whooole backstory.
this is THE thing i want to know in the second season.
anyway, i got carried away but i can write a lot more about this really great series. if this is the only season, i will be disappointed coz there is a lot of potential. and if there are more seasons, i hope they will explain all of this :D
