  • Just a quick video about my thoughts on moving to the Dominican Republic. Wanted to give a shout out to the folks that inspired me to even think about moving to DR.

    Live your best life.
Not many are able to retire in their early 40s. You are financially stable and worked hard for 21 years. Now is time to enjoy life. Puerto Plata and Sosua have VA clinics. Puerto Plata is beautiful and has all. Beaches, supermarkets and the airport. New construction everywhere for a place to live. MANY expats here that made the decicision to live and/or retire here. I like Cabarete and Puerto Plata. Next time you come, look for the VA clinics and get a realtor to show you around. Living in the Caribbean, retired and debt free. Win win situation.
Gated community and not the barrio for peace of mind.

Thank you and yes indeed it's definitely a win-win situation. Most people are ok with taking a vacation every few months. The hell with that I want my life to be a vacation. We weren't put on this planet to work and stress about bills until the day we die.

DR had been on my radar for a while and my wife’s parents are from there and retired back in their home town.
Might as well go now because the dr is developing fast and won’t be nearly as affordable in the future. We are hoping to at least buy land soon.

Your Military Retirement benefits will be enough to live comfortably in the Dominican Republic. From what I understand DR has a lot of benefits for USA veterans, so look into it when you get there.

When people tell me that, I ask them to provide me with any evidence that its dangerous. And second compare your findings to US and tell me which is more dangerous. I promise you, you'll get crickets. If DR was as dangerous as they say it is, Ipromise you I wouldn't be here.

You know I tried to explain that but it wasn't sticking. I feel like people think I'm going there and moving to the barrio. Some bad shit can happen anywhere. I believe you! Nobody in their rigjt mind moves to a place that's more dangerous than the place they're leaving 🤣
