    I know this was a long time back, but I still enjoy watching it, crazy skills with a glider we all have and can afford, way cool!

      +SpeedsterDEN You demonstrated what sufficiency means. For a stock, low cost glider, this glider looks very efficient.

    Absolutely nice flight!
    I also have a Phoenix, but mine do not fly like that. May be HK spoiled production, or we do not have such weather conditions in our area... Who knows. But you showed how awesome can fly a plane for 50 bucks. Great!

    Nice looking bird. Got to see one out at our local slope, Eagle Butte, in S.E. Washington state this last weekend, 4/28/17. The owner didn't fly it due to the 35 to 45 mph winds.

      Yes,One of the best gliders for the money, we have had many in my club.
      And easy to land for beginners on the slope due to the flaps/crow brake.

    How does the plane speeds up so much when circling? And how can I learn the basics to fly it?

    • @SpeedsterDEN
      @SpeedsterDEN  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is called dynamic soaring and world speed record is around 840 km/h with a rc glider. Join a RC club or get a RC simulator and do a lot of training :)

    • @guivolp
      @guivolp 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SpeedsterDEN Thanks for the answer! I already fly Electric RC planes for a while, but with Electric engines(a scaled telemaster and a 3d 1000w) and I want to try doing dynamic soaring, but I'm afraid that I'm going to throw it in the air and fall off in seconds. Also I don't know exactly which plane to buy to begin in this category

    • @SpeedsterDEN

      @@guivolp DS and what glider to fly is all about the size and shape of the hill and the wind speed. And you have to be a good very good pilot that can control high speed flying just a few meter over the ground and very near yourself in the same flying path lap after lap. And the best way to start is to fly together with other people that allready can do it. And it will need a ridge with a sharp top. th-cam.com/video/86c5Wu_DwsU/w-d-xo.html

    A superb demo thank you. Have you got the flaps operating with the ailerons to achieve the tight roll?

    Hi Den, I have a phoenix 2000 but mine seems to be a bit flimsy around the main wing area i would not try to DS with it, Did you strengthen your main wing ? if so could you give me some tips, Thanks Chris

    • @SpeedsterDEN
      @SpeedsterDEN  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Chris, My Phoenix is almost totaly stock, just with a hinge in the rudder.

    • @chopperharly
      @chopperharly 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks very much, do you mean it needs a hinge at the bottom of the rudder joining it to the fuselage

    • @SpeedsterDEN
      @SpeedsterDEN  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, right there.. its very flimsy otherwise.

    Did you reinforce the control surfaces w hinges? At such speed a aileron or elevator will rip any minute.
    Very good flying, time to buy a Zeus 3170X from Hobby King.
