This is actually a good game to me. It’s rough around the edges on certain platforms on levels where the character is a little slippery, the levels are short, but it’s a solid game. I love the fact that we can create our own characters, I’ve always dreamt of that, it’s not perfect but I look at it as a stepping stone to greater things. Next time maybe they can give our characters a personality, a real voice, maybe more abilities besides the wispons.
I came across this video on a Facebook group and wasn’t really sure what to think. But after watching it, this was a really good review. I don’t mean that because you said it was good. There was a clear open mind when going into this game and I appreciate that. It’s so refreshing to see someone not say the game is terrible cos it’s not. I wouldn’t go as far as to say it’s good, but it’s definitely not terrible. And to see it be compared to 06 is an insult that Forces doesn’t deserve. 06 was a victim of rushed development and bad design choices whereas Forces was just rushed development. I think for the next review, try either Mania or Generations.

It was the first Sonic game I played and I was just like what two weeks ago I started playing it and I love it it's amazing and the two DLCs are free what more could you ask for in the graphics are good the cutscenes are good sure infinince origin was a little weak but still it was good. I really enjoined the game.

I kinda like forces, my only problem with the game is that infinites backstory is bad and the levels are too short. The main thing I love the most of this game is infinite. Which is now my new favorite character. Hope infinite will come back one day.
One detail in the infinite's history that everyone pretty much ignores is that he didn't yell "i am not weak" just because the shadow called him weak. He yelled this because he couldn't save the squad of jackals (who ended up being killed by the shadow), he couldn't avenge the jackals by being humiliated by the shadow and the shadow still throws it in his face calling him pathetic and weak. And in a way, the infinite is similar to the freeze, he has never been defeated in his entire life. The scene is similar in a way too, goku shot the Freeza several times that he had better give up, that he wasn't going to win and etc (he was still laughing) and that it was better to surrender, Freeza was extremely offended, he freaked out and he also shouts that he's not weak, that he wouldn't accept being defeated and all, and launches a blast of ki towards the goku but he hits back and wins. The shadow defeated the infinite without much difficulty and called it useless, pathetic and weak. He had never been defeated so easily in his entire life and the chackal squad that he was the leader of being killed and his failure to avenge his deceased comrades only fueled his anger further by making him freak out and accept the eggman's ruby phantom to may never again be defeated
Sonic Forces is greatit has a lot of replay value, I’m still getting all the medals and S ranks and leveling up all different types of characters trying to get all the items the sos missions, I hate when I see people giving a bad review when their gameplay shows they are terrible at the game and probably played it one time, if you don’t use all the wisp guns you cant find the best routes and shortcuts
I think my biggest problem with the story of Forces was the fact that the game assumes you read the prologue comic, so if you didn't, the story will make less sense. I still think Sega should have made a recap DLC for those who didn't read the comic. I think it was also the fact that within four missions, your OC literally gets thrown on the backburner, reducing them to a custom Tails. Overall, while I don't hate Forces, and think it's actually a decent game, it certainly was a disappointment. But I think the hate partially comes from people being spoiled by Sonic Mania.

I will say, gotta disagree with only one thing! I think the custom character levels were probably one of the better parts of the game. I just think they were different and interesting to try out. The way you move about levels from linear paths to slightly bigger "open" areas on enemies kinda reminds me Sonic Heroes gameplay, just with one character. And as for Sonic stuff you should try, I would recommend either Shadow the Hedgehog or Sonic Heroes, both GameCube games, haha

Seeing as to how you mentioned Sonic and the Secret Rings is the last game you played, I guess that's why you think that way, but that is literally the second most automated game in the series, just next to Forces and Dash. If you tried literally any other 3D game, you'd see what a proper 3D Sonic game is. Sure, most have automated sections, but when your game stands next to Sonic Dash, an auto runner game for smartphones, then I think you can see what I mean. Play Sonic Adventure 2 and tell me that it plays itself, play Sonic 06 and tell me it plays itself, hell, play Sonic Colors, Unleashed, Generations, even Lost World and tell me they play themselves. Edit: Regarding the Classic Sonic thing... It's bad. It's really the worst part about this game. It doesn't make sense that he's there and he plays horribly even when compared to Generations (which already wasn't a perfect version of him). Again, this is probably just because, well, you didn't experience what had been done before, and if it is your first time playing as 3D, Modern Sonic and classic Sonic, then it probably is alright. However, that doesn't make it a good game, mainly because they already did all of this but better years ago. Pretty much the same can be said about the stories. I'm not expecting a masterpiece of a story, but Forces has one of the worst stories so far. No good characters in-game, bad characterization (mostly), cringy ass cutscenes and straight up dumb stuff (like the infamous Tails vs. Chaos 0 thing). Stories in Sonic games have been a thing since Sonic 3 & Knuckles. It's been done incredibly well for such a dumb concept as a blue, super sonic anthropomorphic hedgehog, but now it's just boring, bland, soulless cliches... That's why the Sonic fandom hates the game. Not because Forces alone is bad (which it's not, it's just mediocre), but because they've done better, *Infinitely* better.

I agree with you! The game is good for its price, it definetly could improve since it came after Colors and Generations, but for a 2.5D-ish 3D game it kept me engaged. Also the music here IS SO GOODDD
Sonic forces is a decent game even tough it's the shortest and one of the most linear 3d sonic games. The avatar was my favorite part of the game. I wish there were more original levels out there tough.
Even though I like this game a lot, I think when you play some of the other games in the series, you'll see that this does have some problems past games don't, I still really enjoyed it a lot, and this was a good review. I would highly recommend playing and reviewing Sonic Unleashed and Generations so that you can compare the three games to see which has the best gameplay (personally I think Generations has the best gameplay). The 2 SA games and Heroes are also worth playing.

Hi there. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. I've read so many conflicting views of the game that it's difficult to tell apart any objective criticisms from pure bashing for the sake of it. I'm not a die-hard Sonic fan by any means (I never played the games growing up), but I've become genuinely curious about trying out some games since my partner is more familiar them. Could this perhaps be recommended as something for more casual players? All the same, it looks great visually, and I'm not really bothered about in-depth story either (I'm not one for taking these things too seriously, and cheesy dialogue can be fun)! I ordered a copy recently since its price-point was decent, and I did so with an acute awareness of the sheer amount of hate it seems to have generated. I am of course able to formulate my own opinions and I want to be able to judge the game for myself, but I don't know how much of the hate is coming from disappointed fans who prefer a more classic formula. Anyway, thanks so much again for sharing your content. Much appreciated. 😊👍
"for kids" is not a worthy excuse. Mario odyssey is for kids and thats one of the best games of all time. The boosting in sonic forces sucks its by far the worst and makes it too easy. Even if the game is easy,there is a lot of BS sometimes. Like one time i died to a turn that didnt auto turn,like every other turn in the game (also wtf is with the auto turning the game is super short and you dont even get to play much of it,its just holding the boost button and jumping very rarely with auto turns). You dont even use the slide or sonics other moves its just boost and it gets boring so quick. Sure,the boosting looks cool but once you do it twice it gets really boring. Sonic forces also bigs itself up too much and just leaves you with disapointment. The story now,oh my god the story in this game,people dont go to sonic for good stories but they expect something interesting. The story is like they told a 6 year old to make a cool story and he only half asses it. So lets see,game is incredibly short and its just pressing the boost button with auto turns,really easy,terrible story,bad physics especially with the zavok fight,bigs itself up too much to leave disapointment and its STILL a good game? edit: i forgot to include this but dont even get me started with classic sonic.His levels are so poorly designed,his physics are broken,has no relevance in the game at all,his music is the worst the sonic franchise has ever seen and he is the definition of unfun. The OC levels were just sonic with an overpowered flame thrower and they were decent i suppose his levels are like a 4/10. To all the critics, no the game is not boring. Boosting constantly is boring but fast and homing attacking is cool but slow. The point is to seamlessly flow in between boosting and homing attacking to be fast and cool
@@oreomerchant6600 it's really not because in practice it makes the game fast and cool but it's not just homing attacking all the enemies, there is a strategy to deciding how many you should kill and which ones but at the end of the day everything I said in the original comment is as much as you need to know to give it a try Also I urge you to try it again with this new mindset, it truly makes the game really good (my favourite sonic game actually but that's just an opinion)
I’m also a fan of the Sonic Comics, creating our own characters to join the rebellion is a great idea. It reminds me of the Freedom Fighters, one thing about why Sonic games might kinda go down the drain is that they’re making it too PG. Dr. Eggman (Robotnik) is supposed to be evil, bringing back the Death Egg was amazing, but let’s not forget everything Eggman has done, from robotizing people and more, deaths, etc. In the comics, Eggman is trying to kill Sonic and his friends, not capture him like in this one. In Sonic Adventure 2, Eggman tried to kill Sonic by capturing him in a capsule, sending him outer space for the capsule to explode, versus keeping him locked up in Sonic Forces.
I’m sorry to comment so much, I’m just thinking of how Dr. Eggman is supposed to really be evil, he’s supposed to be very dark. He robotized half of Bunnie Rabbot’s body in the Comics. I know people will say “ hey, the kids are supposed to be able to play this game without the gory details and violence “. I’ll say to them, kids play this game called FORTNITE!!!! They’re literally tearing down houses in the game, shooting each other with assault rifles, rocket launchers, grenades, handguns, etc. These kids played Among Us, where someone is a killer among the crew mates and kill each other, via a gunshot, being stabbed to death or neck being snapped 🤣🤣
Oh well then that camera is amazing the only downside is the price, if it's too expensive I used to use a GoPro hero 5 which is really good as long as you have good lighting or go outside
I'm not a huge fan of Sonic, I'm more of a huge fan of Spyro and Ratchet & Clank. But I do enjoy playing Sonic games. I thought this game was alright I don't think it's awful.
Shadow was like in 06, and eggman is no longer a joke, and it was the first sonic game that has a customizable character, and Bam, thats all the great things in- oh yeah the Soundtrack.
I like the game too! It pains me how some people are too harsh with it; it sometimes makes me feel bad for liking it. In the end, though, it’s an OK game-leaves a lot left to be desired, but still-give it SOME credit.
The main reason people don’t really like this game was because of how it pales in comparison to the other boost games like “ Sonic generations, sonic unleashed, and sonic colors. Everything about Forces is a step down from previous boost games. This game tries to steal elements from other sonic games but fails tremendously. The whole “Serious story” thing that forces had was just trying to pander to sonic adventure fans. The comedic dialogue from the current sonic writers just doesn’t fit with the dark story that is being told. The boost mechanics were nerfed in this game. They took out the ability to drift while boosting, which helped a ton for making sharper turns. This game also tried to be Sonic generations by adding classic Sonic. The level design is bland as well, with sonic basically being unstoppable in boost mode. I completely understand why you didn’t hate this game as much as others do, When I first Played forces I didn’t think it was all that bad, I only really started to dislike this forces after playing the other boost games. With all that being said I really thing you should try out. Sonic Colors, Sonic generations, and sonic unleashed. Sorry if I sounded like an angry sonic fan, I still think your videos are great!

The only problem I have with Forces is how Infinite and Shadow were implemented and handled. Shadow is directly responsible for the events that occur in this game, and he has no presence. Infinite was just poorly characterized.
In my opinion this game is a huge downgrade to the other boost games the stages are to short boost pretty floaty and they kinda somehow downgraded the graphics in my opinion it's a okay game but disappointing probably why it gets so much hate some of the stages aren't all that kinda lazy how they said don't waist budget on the cut scenes are just them awkwardly speaking over the world map and then when we do get one it's pre renderd and no were near as good in unleashed unleashed is a early 2000 game so sonic forces in many ways disappointed many fans because all the hype no one thought it was going to ruin the boost gameplay my favorite gameplay this game is a mixed bag with many ups and downs feel like all sega budget went into the custom Characters outfits this game is not bad not amazing but is a big disappointment to Sonic fans especially to the fans that like the boost games the most i give this game a 6/10 (Keep in mind this is all a opinion )

Actually you'd be wrong as Sonic games since Adventure or hell Sonic 3 even have had a lot of focus on story and worldbuilding. It was Colors where they started toning it down a bit and people noticed and didn't really like it.

Actually no please do lost world next then rise of lyric lol I heard u mention that in the video. To me, lost world makes perfect sense because Sonic is drained after sharing chaos energy with Classic Sonic in Generations so he no longer can boost. This is why In Forces he relied on wisps to boost and not rings like in generations and unleashed. The wisps and chaos emeralds combined in Sonic Colors granted him the ability to boost without them, and now, I can't wait to see it come back, but when you play lost world, try unlocking super sonic by collecting all the red rings! Also there is a Super sonic free dlc in Forces as well as a whole episode shadow, so that would be cool!
Playing Forces after Generations is sort of like playing Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters after the Future games, or Chains of Olympus after God of War 3, or Mario 3D Land after Mario 3D World. Except in Sonic's case the better game in terms of mechanics, content, and scope is also the one that came out years earlier on weaker hardware.

I really wouldn’t give them the credit for the Super Sonic DLC as on top of it not feeling earned, ORIGINALLY it wasn’t free. You had to pay $2-3 for it which is really unethical.
Honestly I prefer the babyish ranking system on this game. All people talk about is “forces is too easy” but no one talks about how horrid the level design is. Imagine trying to S rank some of the stages with a SA2 or Sonic unleashed ranking system. Iron fortress? NO. THANK. YOU. I’m not saying all sonic games should be super easy and beginner friendly, but if it’s gonna be Challenging; have decent level design please.

I feel like as a game forces is definitely not BAD, it doesn’t do that much like, wrong imo but it doesn’t do a lot right either Like I had fun with it and do go back to the boost levels specifically it’s just after playing generations, unleashed, and even colors it’s confusing cause it’s like, the same as before but executed worse, like a lot of it just feels off to me, my biggest issue overall is just that the game doesn’t feel done, not in the glitchy way more in the “wow this probably would’ve been better if it had more time” way If you enjoyed this though DEFINITELY give generations and unleashed a shot (I’d go for generations first because unleashed gets hella hard) it’s basically the same gameplay just a lot more fleshed out
Totally agree bro, I ended up playing generations and making a video on it a week after this one and it helped me understand where everyone was coming from but I still honestly enjoyed forces.... Shhhh don't tell anyone lol

I couldn't careless about the graphics, it's the gameplay or lack thereof that Sonic Forces suffers. One of the worst Sonic games made, but not as bad as Sonic Boom for Wii U.

thanks for being a voice of reason because it feels like everywhere I go I hear "We don't don't want another Sonic Forces" so thanks for actually giving this game the review the amazing game deserves. :) Also I think the point of this game was NOT to be a one-time playthrough then put it down game I think the point of this game was to give through the main story and replay the levels over again to get more bonus levels and more parts for your avatar.

It was the first Sonic game I played and I was just like what two weeks ago I started playing it and I love it it's amazing and the two DLCs are free what more could you ask for in the graphics are good the cutscenes are good sure infinince origin was a little weak but still it was good. I really enjoined the game.

I kinda like forces, my only problem with the game is that infinites backstory is bad and the levels are too short. The main thing I love the most of this game is infinite. Which is now my new favorite character. Hope infinite will come back one day.
One detail in the infinite's history that everyone pretty much ignores is that he didn't yell "i am not weak" just because the shadow called him weak. He yelled this because he couldn't save the squad of jackals (who ended up being killed by the shadow), he couldn't avenge the jackals by being humiliated by the shadow and the shadow still throws it in his face calling him pathetic and weak. And in a way, the infinite is similar to the freeze, he has never been defeated in his entire life. The scene is similar in a way too, goku shot the Freeza several times that he had better give up, that he wasn't going to win and etc (he was still laughing) and that it was better to surrender, Freeza was extremely offended, he freaked out and he also shouts that he's not weak, that he wouldn't accept being defeated and all, and launches a blast of ki towards the goku but he hits back and wins. The shadow defeated the infinite without much difficulty and called it useless, pathetic and weak. He had never been defeated so easily in his entire life and the chackal squad that he was the leader of being killed and his failure to avenge his deceased comrades only fueled his anger further by making him freak out and accept the eggman's ruby phantom to may never again be defeated
Sonic Forces is greatit has a lot of replay value, I’m still getting all the medals and S ranks and leveling up all different types of characters trying to get all the items the sos missions, I hate when I see people giving a bad review when their gameplay shows they are terrible at the game and probably played it one time, if you don’t use all the wisp guns you cant find the best routes and shortcuts

I think my biggest problem with the story of Forces was the fact that the game assumes you read the prologue comic, so if you didn't, the story will make less sense. I still think Sega should have made a recap DLC for those who didn't read the comic.
I think it was also the fact that within four missions, your OC literally gets thrown on the backburner, reducing them to a custom Tails.
Overall, while I don't hate Forces, and think it's actually a decent game, it certainly was a disappointment. But I think the hate partially comes from people being spoiled by Sonic Mania.
In my opinion I favor mania because it stuck with the story a bit and all the other hame references and the boss fights are far more challenging....."compares mania metal sonic fight to forces metal "

I will say, gotta disagree with only one thing! I think the custom character levels were probably one of the better parts of the game. I just think they were different and interesting to try out. The way you move about levels from linear paths to slightly bigger "open" areas on enemies kinda reminds me Sonic Heroes gameplay, just with one character.
And as for Sonic stuff you should try, I would recommend either Shadow the Hedgehog or Sonic Heroes, both GameCube games, haha

You see, that's where you're wrong. Seeing as to how you mentioned Sonic and the Secret Rings is the last game you played, I guess that's why you think that way, but that is literally the second most automated game in the series, just next to Forces and Dash.
If you tried literally any other 3D game, you'd see what a proper 3D Sonic game is. Sure, most have automated sections, but when your game stands next to Sonic Dash, an auto runner game for smartphones, then I think you can see what I mean.
Play Sonic Adventure 2 and tell me that it plays itself, play Sonic 06 and tell me it plays itself, hell, play Sonic Colors, Unleashed, Generations, even Lost World and tell me they play themselves.
Edit: Regarding the Classic Sonic thing... It's bad. It's really the worst part about this game. It doesn't make sense that he's there and he plays horribly even when compared to Generations (which already wasn't a perfect version of him). Again, this is probably just because, well, you didn't experience what had been done before, and if it is your first time playing as 3D, Modern Sonic and classic Sonic, then it probably is alright.
However, that doesn't make it a good game, mainly because they already did all of this but better years ago.
Pretty much the same can be said about the stories. I'm not expecting a masterpiece of a story, but Forces has one of the worst stories so far. No good characters in-game, bad characterization (mostly), cringy ass cutscenes and straight up dumb stuff (like the infamous Tails vs. Chaos 0 thing). Stories in Sonic games have been a thing since Sonic 3 & Knuckles. It's been done incredibly well for such a dumb concept as a blue, super sonic anthropomorphic hedgehog, but now it's just boring, bland, soulless cliches...
That's why the Sonic fandom hates the game. Not because Forces alone is bad (which it's not, it's just mediocre), but because they've done better, *Infinitely* better.

I agree with you! The game is good for its price, it definetly could improve since it came after Colors and Generations, but for a 2.5D-ish 3D game it kept me engaged. Also the music here IS SO GOODDD
Sonic forces is a decent game even tough it's the shortest and one of the most linear 3d sonic games. The avatar was my favorite part of the game. I wish there were more original levels out there tough.
Even though I like this game a lot, I think when you play some of the other games in the series, you'll see that this does have some problems past games don't, I still really enjoyed it a lot, and this was a good review. I would highly recommend playing and reviewing Sonic Unleashed and Generations so that you can compare the three games to see which has the best gameplay (personally I think Generations has the best gameplay). The 2 SA games and Heroes are also worth playing.

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. I've read so many conflicting views of the game that it's difficult to tell apart any objective criticisms from pure bashing for the sake of it. I'm not a die-hard Sonic fan by any means (I never played the games growing up), but I've become genuinely curious about trying out some games since my partner is more familiar them. Could this perhaps be recommended as something for more casual players? All the same, it looks great visually, and I'm not really bothered about in-depth story either (I'm not one for taking these things too seriously, and cheesy dialogue can be fun)!
I ordered a copy recently since its price-point was decent, and I did so with an acute awareness of the sheer amount of hate it seems to have generated. I am of course able to formulate my own opinions and I want to be able to judge the game for myself, but I don't know how much of the hate is coming from disappointed fans who prefer a more classic formula.

"for kids" is not a worthy excuse. Mario odyssey is for kids and thats one of the best games of all time. The boosting in sonic forces sucks its by far the worst and makes it too easy. Even if the game is easy,there is a lot of BS sometimes. Like one time i died to a turn that didnt auto turn,like every other turn in the game (also wtf is with the auto turning the game is super short and you dont even get to play much of it,its just holding the boost button and jumping very rarely with auto turns). You dont even use the slide or sonics other moves its just boost and it gets boring so quick. Sure,the boosting looks cool but once you do it twice it gets really boring. Sonic forces also bigs itself up too much and just leaves you with disapointment. The story now,oh my god the story in this game,people dont go to sonic for good stories but they expect something interesting. The story is like they told a 6 year old to make a cool story and he only half asses it. So lets see,game is incredibly short and its just pressing the boost button with auto turns,really easy,terrible story,bad physics especially with the zavok fight,bigs itself up too much to leave disapointment and its STILL a good game?
edit: i forgot to include this but dont even get me started with classic sonic.His levels are so poorly designed,his physics are broken,has no relevance in the game at all,his music is the worst the sonic franchise has ever seen and he is the definition of unfun. You know oddly I didn't really know what to do for my custom character in the game so I just made them a third Sonic.
To all the critics, no the game is not boring. Boosting constantly is boring but fast and homing attacking is cool but slow. The point is to seamlessly flow in between boosting and homing attacking to be fast and cool

@@oreomerchant6600 it's really not because in practice it makes the game fast and cool but it's not just homing attacking all the enemies, there is a strategy to deciding how many you should kill and which ones but at the end of the day everything I said in the original comment is as much as you need to know to give it a try
Also I urge you to try it again with this new mindset, it truly makes the game really good (my favourite sonic game actually but that's just an opinion)

I’m also a fan of the Sonic Comics, creating our own characters to join the rebellion is a great idea. It reminds me of the Freedom Fighters, one thing about why Sonic games might kinda go down the drain is that they’re making it too PG. Dr. Eggman (Robotnik) is supposed to be evil, bringing back the Death Egg was amazing, but let’s not forget everything Eggman has done, from robotizing people and more, deaths, etc. In the comics, Eggman is trying to kill Sonic and his friends, not capture him like in this one. In Sonic Adventure 2, Eggman tried to kill Sonic by capturing him in a capsule, sending him outer space for the capsule to explode, versus keeping him locked up in Sonic Forces.
The Sand hill joke might be slightly more clever than you think as there is actually a sand hill level in Sonic Adventure

I know people will say “ hey, the kids are supposed to be able to play this game without the gory details and violence “. I’ll say to them, kids play this game called FORTNITE!!!! They’re literally tearing down houses in the game, shooting each other with assault rifles, rocket launchers, grenades, handguns, etc. These kids played Among Us, where someone is a killer among the crew mates and kill each other, via a gunshot, being stabbed to death or neck being snapped 🤣🤣

I'm not a huge fan of Sonic, I'm more of a huge fan of Spyro and Ratchet & Clank. But I do enjoy playing Sonic games. I thought this game was alright I don't think it's awful.

Shadow was like in 06, and eggman is no longer a joke, and it was the first sonic game that has a customizable character, and Bam, thats all the great things in- oh yeah the Soundtrack.

The main reason people don’t really like this game was because of how it pales in comparison to the other boost games like “ Sonic generations, sonic unleashed, and sonic colors. Everything about Forces is a step down from previous boost games. This game tries to steal elements from other sonic games but fails tremendously. The whole “Serious story” thing that forces had was just trying to pander to sonic adventure fans. The comedic dialogue from the current sonic writers just doesn’t fit with the dark story that is being told. The boost mechanics were nerfed in this game. They took out the ability to drift while boosting, which helped a ton for making sharper turns. This game also tried to be Sonic generations by adding classic Sonic. The level design is bland as well, with sonic basically being unstoppable in boost mode. I completely understand why you didn’t hate this game as much as others do, When I first Played forces I didn’t think it was all that bad, I only really started to dislike this forces after playing the other boost games. With all that being said I really thing you should try out. Sonic Colors, Sonic generations, and sonic unleashed. Sorry if I sounded like an angry sonic fan, I still think your videos are great!

2. every 3d sonic was not linear as forces like look emerald coast city escape or egg feet they all have multiple path with forces you do not have to try to beat the game and it just straight lines

Why The Fuck Sega Didn’t Add Choas And Shadow Boss That Apart of the people hating on this game -_- no Wonder People interest in Sonic Forces
The only problem I have with Forces is how Infinite and Shadow were implemented and handled. Shadow is directly responsible for the events that occur in this game, and he has no presence. Infinite was just poorly characterized.
In my opinion this game is a huge downgrade to the other boost games the stages are to short boost pretty floaty and they kinda somehow downgraded the graphics in my opinion it's a okay game but disappointing probably why it gets so much hate some of the stages aren't all that kinda lazy how they said don't waist budget on the cut scenes are just them awkwardly speaking over the world map and then when we do get one it's pre renderd and no were near as good in unleashed unleashed is a early 2000 game so sonic forces in many ways disappointed many fans because all the hype no one thought it was going to ruin the boost gameplay my favorite gameplay this game is a mixed bag with many ups and downs feel like all sega budget went into the custom Characters outfits this game is not bad not amazing but is a big disappointment to Sonic fans especially to the fans that like the boost games the most i give this game a 6/10 (Keep in mind this is all a opinion )

Actually you'd be wrong as Sonic games since Adventure or hell Sonic 3 even have had a lot of focus on story and worldbuilding. It was Colors where they started toning it down a bit and people noticed and didn't really like it.
I think it's a good game... but didn't do enough, and took a lot of good stuff away from the sonic franchise as a whole

before I got the game I saw everyone making hate on it so I thought it wouldn't be too good but when I played it it was really fun I don't know why people don't like it
tbh it seems like people just got over hyped for this game but I think that's just something that happens to a lot of games in general unfortunately

Actually no please do lost world next then rise of lyric lol I heard u mention that in the video. To me, lost world makes perfect sense because Sonic is drained after sharing chaos energy with Classic Sonic in Generations so he no longer can boost. This is why In Forces he relied on wisps to boost and not rings like in generations and unleashed. The wisps and chaos emeralds combined in Sonic Colors granted him the ability to boost without them, and now, I can't wait to see it come back, but when you play lost world, try unlocking super sonic by collecting all the red rings! Also there is a Super sonic free dlc in Forces as well as a whole episode shadow, so that would be cool!

Playing Forces after Generations is sort of like playing Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters after the Future games, or Chains of Olympus after God of War 3, or Mario 3D Land after Mario 3D World. Except in Sonic's case the better game in terms of mechanics, content, and scope is also the one that came out years earlier on weaker hardware.

i really like, not like but love actually this best graphics sonic game with fantastic music graphics and speed. i dont understate hate about this game. its the real hooky game :) where many characters in story. i thinc critisize those who's don't have enought good pc to show full rock n roll of this game. well me too:D played on xbox.
I really wouldn’t give them the credit for the Super Sonic DLC as on top of it not feeling earned, ORIGINALLY it wasn’t free. You had to pay $2-3 for it which is really unethical.

Honestly I prefer the babyish ranking system on this game. All people talk about is “forces is too easy” but no one talks about how horrid the level design is. Imagine trying to S rank some of the stages with a SA2 or Sonic unleashed ranking system. Iron fortress? NO. THANK. YOU.
I’m not saying all sonic games should be super easy and beginner friendly, but if it’s gonna be Challenging; have decent level design please.

I feel like as a game forces is definitely not BAD, it doesn’t do that much like, wrong imo but it doesn’t do a lot right either
Like I had fun with it and do go back to the boost levels specifically it’s just after playing generations, unleashed, and even colors it’s confusing cause it’s like, the same as before but executed worse, like a lot of it just feels off to me, my biggest issue overall is just that the game doesn’t feel done, not in the glitchy way more in the “wow this probably would’ve been better if it had more time” way
If you enjoyed this though DEFINITELY give generations and unleashed a shot (I’d go for generations first because unleashed gets hella hard) it’s basically the same gameplay just a lot more fleshed out
Totally agree bro, I ended up playing generations and making a video on it a week after this one and it helped me understand where everyone was coming from but I still honestly enjoyed forces.... Shhhh don't tell anyone lol

I couldn't careless about the graphics, it's the gameplay or lack thereof that Sonic Forces suffers. One of the worst Sonic games made, but not as bad as Sonic Boom for Wii U.
