Have you tried using the reverse engineering commands to represent a surface? Using Fit surface for example, what is your pros/cons with that approach? I was also think of your thought process when you want to represent the stl with a cad surface, how do you arrive at a certain chosen complexity of the surface? It's nice to see videos from you again, always a treat.
I do all the time. I try and show tools that everyone with an NX license, has. MACH 1 has a lot of stuff but is also missing all of the Studio tools. I will make a video about the subject of why I do what I do.
I find the Spacemouse Pro very handy with programmable buttons. Mines old too but still works well. The lock cap button is very handy in 2D drawing mode and 3D mode - also saves the mouse hand from overwork. With respect to RSI - what's helped the most is program keyboard shortcuts as now I'm fairly regularly moving my hand off the mouse.
Should be obvious in watching the video. Fewer control points, simpler curve and resultant surface, which is easier to push/pull into shape. Always start simple, add points if needed but this is the same workflow I use when starting out because it's clean and easy to work with.

Hi. Can you switch your big monitor to lower resolution for making video? Now NX UI is hardly readable on smaller screens, laptops. Thanks anyway.
Thank you for the input. I will see what can be done. I have a Ultra High Rez screen and scaling things usually makes everything look awful.
@@ClassASurfacingBut perfect on my desktop at 1080p - I'd even ask for 1440 if possible.
Two questions. Can you make the video 4k? For this model, what is the estimate timeframe for you, to finish it?
No 4K. Small screens already have a difficult time seeing things. 30-40 hours for good data.
Which space mouse do you use? That is a cool feature. Could come in handy 🙂
It's an old old, old, Space Mouse. like 20 years old. Any new one will work. You can program the buttons.

I don't have a show through icon in NX 2312
Where is it?
It is under the Object Display options. When you change the color. See through is an option.
3:02 jesus christ ! use curve from two views sir why is that ?
Curve data is cleaner for a simple curve like this.
