I don’t know how or where I lost track of not only yours but of some other of our fans questions or comments, so that’s what I’m doing right now. Your comment also reminds me of back in the 70’s when I was in the Army Reserve in my hometown of McAllen, Tx. and for breakfast some of us would go and buy some barbacoa tacos de puro cachete and some jalapeños … yea, that would be on Sunday mornings when we had our meetings. I totally agree with you, since the day he started singing with us, he already had that “ Don “ , that God given gift … that when he started singing, people would stop dancing and go up to the stage and just stand there to watch and hear him sing. Hello Armando, I’m your classmate, Diana G., from 6th grade @ Navarro Elem. I used to listen to your music during the summer after 6th grade. As a result, I learned to dance when I spent the summers with my grandparents in San Isidro, Tx. Everybody at the ranch danced to Tejano music. Aww all those beautiful memories of our younger carefree years.

LOL … he would stick his ruler in his shoe and then smell it ……or he would rub behind his ear and smell his finger. I remember that I drew, free hand, on a blank sheet of paper a picture of President Kennedy which I had from a small one that I had found in a newspaper. Soooooooooo I guess I was like 12. Sometime around 1962. So anyway, how have you been , my God, what a pleasant surprise !
We were young babies not even teens yet! We were young and the years have passed but your music lives on and is appreciated to this day. I still listen to it like I did during those summers at the ranch. I’m so sorry for the loss of Juan J. May he Rest In Eternal Peace. God Bless you always.
Bobby, David Garza passed away January 5, 2005, He was 57yrs old, he died of a heart attack. To this day I think of him often as a great friend, the nicest guy to be around with & super talented on the bass guitar. David was a member of our band The Westside Band for many yrs. Eddie Perez ex lead vocalist for Los Fabulosos is still performing with us The Westside Band, and to this day, the band still plays 2 of Davids favorite songs, that he recorded with Los Fabulosos Paloma Neagra & Coma Ayer. Joe Hernandez Mgr The Westside Band.
They would come and pick up my brother. They would toot out side our house. They called him Indio. Because of his long black hair. And his funky bass playing. And he got it from listening to Earth wind & fire dizzy John Coltrane Carlos Santana we had Peavey amps and 2:41 even in the world Ampex in the house. Of course this was in the 70s. If he is still alive. Ask.. Carlos Guzman about Arturo.aka. Indio ask Pio Trevino. I was present at a show when Arturo was at a dance he was up by stage and the bass player came up to him and said you want to play? Bro said no I'm relaxing today. My brother is a true unsung hero in Tejano.

yah i know the royal jesters made one. it's not as good as this version,well in my opinion. the royal jesters version has a more big band sound to it. also like almost every tejano band has recorded prieta linda.

Joe Lopez used to sing with The Bel Air Band from Brownsville Tx for about 4 yrs before he sang with Fabulosos 4
