In today’s episode, I talk with Pastor Voddie Baucham about his new book, “It’s Not Like Being Black: How Sexual Activists Hijacked the Civil Rights Movement.”
“Gay is not the new black, it’s merely the old sodomy,” says Voddie Bauchum. Sexual identity is not the same thing as race and has been manipulated to lead America down a path that will normalize pedophilia and the persecution of Christians as the ultimate goals.
In his new book, It’s Not Like Being Black: How Sexual Activists Hijacked the Civil Rights Movement (www.amazon.com/Its-Not-Like-B...) (Regnery Faith, June 4, 2024) pastor and theologian Voddie Baucham (www.voddiebaucham.org/) addresses the dangerous alliance between gender ideology and the civil rights movement and shares why this is the latest threat to the church from social justice warriors.

    ABOUT BECKET:
Becket Cook was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He attended Jesuit College Preparatory
School of Dallas. After graduating from college, Becket moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of writing and acting, finding success in both. He eventually went on to become a production designer working with the top photographers and directors in the world on fashion shoots for magazines such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, and for ad campaigns such as Gap, L'Oréal Paris, and Nike.
Finding a new sense of freedom in L.A., Becket also fully engaged in his new life as a gay man. He had a series of many relationships with men throughout the next fifteen years.
In September of 2009, Becket met a stranger at a coffee shop in Silver Lake who invited him to his church in Hollywood called Reality L.A. Becket reluctantly agreed to attend the service. After hearing the sermon that Sunday, Becket was utterly transformed by the gospel and gave his life to Christ. He also knew on that day when God revealed Himself to him that homosexuality was a sin and that he could no longer live that life. Becket was more than happy to count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus his Lord.
Becket spends much of his time in ministry speaking at churches, universities, and conferences helping believers (and non-believers) understand this issue biblically, theologically, culturally, and personally. Balancing grace and truth when teaching on this subject is of primary importance. His goal is to challenge the current cultural narrative about sexuality in general and homosexuality in particular by demonstrating through his personal testimony and biblical truths that, yes, homosexuality is still a sin, and that following Christ is infinitely more satisfying and joyous.
He has lived all over the world in major cities such as Rome, Vienna, and Tokyo.
Becket graduated from Talbot School of Theology at Biola University in 2017 with a Master of Arts in Theology.
Becket’s book, A Change of Affection: A Gay Man’s Incredible Story of Redemption, with a
foreword by Francis Chan, published by Thomas Nelson, released July 30, 2019.

The challenges facing Bible believing Christians today are mind boggling. My husband passed 7 years ago and he would be totally amazed at the normalisation of gender identity disorders being treated with surgery and hormones almost universally throughout the western world. Some Christians believe the pendulum will swing back and people will see sense, but I believe we have gone past the point of no return. The tragedy is that young people are being sucked into a godless black hole and many will never be exposed to the Truth. I am so thankful for champions like you two, you are taking on Goliath and I believe we must continue to hold our banner high so that some will yet be brands snatched from the fire. God bless you both richly 🙏🛐✝️💖

This definitely is our Caesar is Lord moment. I was recently in Mexico City (where pride is THE thing right now), and as I walked the streets I realized what dangerous times this is to be a Christian. I suddenly could relate so much to the early church in that I knew the majority of the people I walked by were antagonistic to Christianity and actually part of the LGBTQ community. My own brother confessed to me he is bisexual (I think he is pansexual but probably did not want to make the conversation more complicated). I bought your book for him and I'm hoping he reads it!!

I’m Canadian. We had a pastor (unemployed) renting from us. He had been born in Kentucky and lived for awhile in California. He was pro gay marriage. He constantly said that everything said about gays was exactly what was said against ‘Blacks’. He called them ‘Blacks’ never Black People’. He used this argument to discredit every argument against gay marriage. He thought of himself as the last word on the subject.

Regarding the UN holding power over Africa due to aid, I wholly agree. I had to research this (painfully) for college. Foreign aid has been about foreign policy from day one. It provides the same function as economic sanctioning, but with almost no harm to the donor.

As Africans we have been saying we don't want aid, we don't need Western handouts, and most of the aid doesn't even help the local population, it's just sad that the corruption of our leaders makes us weak. Most African people are hard working, we can survive without aid. Aid is used as a tool to control African governments, it's because of this reason most African countries are turning towards China and Russia.
