Am I missing something? I don't hear any commentary. Was it changed or am I deef? Also, the music is a sort of Dixieland jazz with banjo, not incompatible with the Jazz Age.
The point of SIlent Films is that they DID NOT NEED COMMENTARY. It is incredibly asinine for someone to do a voice over commentary to something that we can see is happening. May the people who adulterated this once great film move into a house with pealing paint on all walls inside and outside causing them all the joys of dust that an old house can give them. Otherwise, this was a complete waste of time.
it was just humor bro...its human tendency to glorify and long for everything that's in the past. yes they were innocent times....in some aspects. in others....not so much.
2 L's in Lloyd. He looks like Ellen DeGeneres. Or does she look like him? Dye his hair blonde, remove glasses, or dye her hair black, and get her to put on those glasses. Well, I guess God did not mean for every guy to look like Charlie Chaplin, and every gal to look like Bridgette Bardot. You may lose the genetic lottery, but you can still be a good person - observe the Ten Commandments, file your tax return on time, that sort of thing.
I guess he made this movie to get audiences, an entire generation of persons really, ready to accept the idea of women drivers on the road. Although, I cannot picture a woman sticking her tongue out at a cop. Not very lady-like. Or was it to get citizens ready to accept the idea of immigrant cabbies, who care not for authority figures?
Thanks Harold. Live forever via your movies. England, January, 2025.
Harold was a great comedian God bless and rest his soul.

Just turn the volume down. Problem solved. I'm sure they had good intentions.
But then you can't hear the music.
Nice video
Yep, that is very true... everything has its pros and cons
Adding dialogue to silent movies is gilding the lily. Turn off your speakers.

What a great clip! Though, those commentators were so poor...
Those were innocent times :)
not entirely - lynching and colonialism were still "legal''
@@merccadoosis8847 Colonialism a crime? Isn't Indonesia a colonial nation? What're you talking about?
why is there voices?
It's lip readers telling us what the actors are actually saying. Very weird, definitely for minorities only!
この人、マイケル・キートンの爺ちゃんだと聞きましたが本当にですかねー😅😅😅😅。
追伸 自分も免許取り立ての時サイド・ブレーキ引いたまま走ってしまった事が有りました。😅💦
I know
great comedy but the added voices were so unnecessary
Look likes recorderd in 2004 I would say.

Common man ! the commentary is UNNESSESARY !!!!
Tommy Angelo.

Inspired commentary.
Harold: That guy is in a hurry!
Cop: That's still no reason to be speeding.
Who added this music?
This is the late 1920s; it's THE JAZZ AGE; not RAGTIME!!!

Hey, ditch the computerized "dialogue"!
The commentary is dreadful and completely unnecessary.
it was just humor bro...its human tendency to glorify and long for everything that's in the past. yes they were innocent times....in some aspects. in others....not so much.
This is good. Seinfeld wasn’t original. That type of comedy had been around.

Stupid comments.
Why the music and stupid voice over? Ruined.
