There is no doubt that this speaker is beautiful. I'm a Brit living in the US. I have wanted a pair of these for a long time. I finally bought a pair last year and driver them with McIntosh MC451 and C55. CD/SACD front end is Esoteric P-03 and D-03. Speaker cables Kimber Monicle. I hate to be negative but I'm really not impressed at all. They are very average sounding to me. They're totally flat sounding. They lack in top end and are way too mid-rangy. I think if you want to listen to the likes "What a shame, Patricia barber" or that kind of breathy smoky jazz room female voice then you may be impressed. They are going up for sale very soon.

How do they compare to Sonos Faber il cremonese speakers which are priced about the same?? Bowers 802 d3 I own

great question - i can say that the D3 to D4 difference is BIG, but i've not heard il cremonese yet, but i've heard amati tradition and for me, i like that better than 802 D3 but not better than 800 D3, but there's also a BIG difference between 802 and 800 D3

They are such a beautiful speakers, unfortunately the gear that need to drive these uglyfy the enviornment. I wished they would make them active like B&O does!

this totally can happen, however there's several brands that are aesthetically as impressive as these speakers such as bassocontinuo and salamander designs chameleon which we carry that provide both an exposed and a concealed look for the associated equipment :)

Massive price speaker with massive corrosion within just a few years...exciting delivery will turn into nightmare when u realise yr huge investment corroded massively at the back of all woofers within a few years ! That exactly what happen to my 803d3 n b&w takes no responsibility except telling you to buy another one that will give the same problem again....buyer beware !
