thanks for a very beautiful song made me cry WOW WOW we salute all armed forces from here in NEWARK OHIO FROM THE PHILLIPS FAMILY MAY GOD BLESS ALL THEM
I meet you years ago. You are my best singer. And you stone Jackson is the best.all the old classic country music is the best the other for give me?????
Bill, I have a story of my own to tell. My husband was with the 101st Airborne Unit and one jump a fellow jumper's chute did not open. My husband immediately jumped to his level and grabbed his risers and they descended together. Whew! What a relief. As I was driving to the DMZ to watch a jump, I saw the jumper and nearly crashed the car hitting the ditch. It was such a relief to see the two of them hit the dirt together. I will never forget the adrenaline rush I experienced watching and then listening to the story when I got home. OMG, you will never get me to believe that God isn't in charge of His troops. Thanks for this video and bringing back those old memories of my time as an Army wife.
There was another episode when his chute would not collapse and he was drug through the mud and dirt of the ground and his face covered in the mud when he got home to shower. He was the instructor and never let his troops jump without him. He went to escort them on their very first mission and as each one jumped they got a God Bless you as he tapped each one on the shoulder. He heard the gunfire below and each one of those men jumped to their death and the plane took its toll of gun shots before leaving the DZ. My husband came home but suffered his own injury of PTS when he got home. I don't think he ever fully recovered. I could never reveal any of this as long as his dad was alive. It was just too painful and I knew there was no sense in making him suffer any more than he already did. God bless all those who choose to serve knowing of the cost to them and family.
I will never understand going to war - to the loss of precious life - of anyone: friend or foe. There are better ways of resolving conflicts. I still feel my own hurt from going through this as a wife.
I never get tired of listening to Bill sing this. I love it so much. My brother in law was killed a block from home after 2 terms in Vietnam. I think of him all the time
NEXT TO AMAZING GRACE IT'S THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SONG EVER WRITTEN. AND NOBODY BUT BILL COULD EVER SING IT. I CRY LIKE A BABY EVERY TIME I LISTEN TO IT. THANK YOU BILL. I HAVE A VERY SPECIAL FRIEND IN AFGHANISTAN RIGHT NOW AND I WORRY.
Thank you Bill Anderson, I’m a Vietnam combat veteran, this song came on my phone while I was driving down the road and I had to pull over and play it again while staring at my old boonie hat that was laying on my dashboard, oorah
2nd Btn, 5th Marines. Well done, brother, and welcome home. I didn't keep my boonie hat, but I've got my field jacket. One thing they can't take from us is us. Semper Fidelis.
What a wonderful thing to do for someone who you didn't even know ❤
I got tears in my ears laying here on my back!
