Hello Mr. Peter. You are like embodiment of the part of us that we lose when we go from adolescence to adulthood. It's such a warm and wonderful place that you are. I remember you from when I was free. Please never stop.
I was JUST looking for a tutorial on putting one of these together. Peter, you really are a jack of all trades. I don't know who Jack is or what he trades, but I think it's a positive thing to say. Thanks again.
@@User18dog my second saga I did. You win the opportunity to buy it, for clarification (not that you didn't think that). This one I bought on the secondary market...and of course a week later won the lotto after a long time of being on the list.
This is a must have, I've searched and cannot find where to purchase. So you have to be picked to have a chance of buying? congrats, I doubt I'll ever have that kind of chance. It's the pen of pens, I don't mind ballpoint at all, love the way it clicks. Very nice.
I love you too Peter. Thank you for the cool video. You inspire me to have more fun with my art and i want to thank you for that as well. Enjoying our creativity is important.
I am loooong time subscriber of John's channel...he makes excellent knives. Honestly did not know he makes pens as well. I recognized the logo immediately.
I absolutely just adore the way you speak so lovely about the various writing instruments you review. Also, your voice is just so calming. If I'm having a bit of anxiety, I love turning to any of your videos and they help me relax and lose the panics. Thank you, so, so much for doing these.
I am not an artist. I cannot draw to save my life. Prior to today I had never heard of your channel. I'm a knife guy who got chosen to buy a Saga, so I started watching a few videos to get people's thoughts on it. This video was absolutely mesmerizing. You did a wonderful job of conveying what is great about Grimsmo products - that magical feeling. It's in the knives too. Not only did you convince me to buy the pen, but you also got me to subscribe to your channel. You're awesome, Peter. Bravo!
Very nice video Peter, thanks for just talking about the pen! I am glad you have a viewer who felt good about loaning you the pen for the video and review too! Please be safe and take care!
Didn't expect this crossover! I love your technical drawings of crazy machines. I hope you checked out his channel! If you see videos of his crazy Swiss lathe he uses to make these pens, I think you might find inspiration for more doo-hickies and thing-a-ma-jigs.
Hello Peter, that warmup frog drawing looked really good, do you think you could do more animal-themed drawings? I love your mechanical looking art, but i think this was the first time i saw a non-human animal drawing.
Peter, ive been watching you for a long while now. In My Eyes Youre up there with Bob Ross as my Favorite artists to watch. Thank You for Being you My friend
I know of John Grimsmo and his knives are indeed very very difficult to get and start around the $800+ range. As for the anodization, it basically bonds oxygen molecules onto a surface with the water ( with baking soda added) acting as a catalyst. Ususally you have a good power source, I used 9 volt batteries in my case, and Daisy chain them together and run a wire from the negative connection, attached to something conductive ( a stainless 🥄) placed in the water. The positive is attached to the piece you want to anodize and when you place it in the water, it completes the connection with the power output or # of batteries you use regulating what color output you get. In my case I used ten 9 volts and got a purple/yellow/blueish anodization. Works best with titanium but you can also do this with aluminum and stainless steel but a much higher voltage is needed to achieve any sort of color. Hope this helps
Oh man, the timing couldn't have been better! Starting my nightshift on a painting and here you are with a new video, to groooooove me into work. Now that's nice! EDIT: Concerning the "Getting faster" point... I guess it is also normal that you can doodle faster now or also enjoy it much more, because you took the time to draw slowly and build up a mental library of forms, shapes and textures.... maybe this just flows much easier, because you have done the work prior to the fast drawing?
Okay so the last time I commented on a video a couple of months later you liked it and I seriously cried. It was about posting a pen that you reviewed. But anyway I am commenting because you’re one of my favorite people I’ve watched you for years and you’ve helped me through some really dark times. You’re amazing and you do amazing things. Unfortunately I’m super broke so I can’t really send you anything. But I hope you see this comment so it can make my day again. Thank you for everything you doooo
i love u too peter have a good day! also i love that drawing a little something on a post it note helps you sleep better, i may just give that a try myself
And we love you too, Peter. You feel like the kind of person I would want to be friends with. :-) With that I have probably relegated myself to "fangirl", which is not entirely untrue at all, but not fully accurate either. Can't we love our friends and not have it be complicated? I like your aura, your energy. It's calming, has colors in it, and a friendly edge to it, like a fluffy cloud most of the time.. I too have fallen for that pen, and the drawings were inspirational to me and made me think of the sensitive circuits inside a lightsaber or very unique musical instrument that only a dragon could play. Edit: I am not sure if it is a big dragon or a small dragon. Perhaps it is the dragon's music-saber circuits, and it plays differently depending on the dragon's aura. Hmmmm.
The logo is a Norseman, which is also the name of the Grimsmo brothers' flagship pocket knife. Years ago, said knife was almost half of their current prices, but after some favourable reviews started circulating online, both demand and prices skyrocketed. :-(
@@CSGraves Supply and demand, that's some fundamental economic principle isn't it? I charge more for my art now than I used to also. Maybe for people who want some of the art, but it's good for the artist, at least.
Sounds like an interesting platform, I'll check it out! I think I like that box better than the pen...😄 Agree with your opinion on ballpoint pens, they are definitely not sexy to write or draw with, functional, sure, just not very exciting....
That's a nice looking pen and I really like the different colors from anodization. The lottery sales model is a deal breaker for me, though. I'll definitely go check out Jump. Sounds wonderful.
I agree that the lottery can be annoying. But in the knife world, the Grimsmo brothers are quite popular, and so if they had waitlists, they’d probably be 1+ years waitlist after you order. This makes it more fair to newer patrons of the company
You should check out the Ohto Horizon Aluminum Hexagon Barrel Needlepoint Ballpoint Pen NBP-587H, Orange. It's not a high end pen but it's nice to hold and looks cool. Writes pretty well too and has this interesting little button to retract the pen tip.
I can appreciate a well-made pen but personally for me I'm only going to buy for the nib primarily and second how it feels to hold. There should be no rules in art, artists shouldn't have to conform. Good art comes from a thoughtful and sincere artist who has honed the craft of their medium.
You are very entertaining and inspiring, Thank you for letting us into your world sir, Also I have a request, I'd love to see you do a portait of Dan the man...in the fridge. Maybe going with the theme of his thoughts on fridge life, Also I think you would make amazing neck tie designs, just a thought.
Peter! You should try a Caran D'ache 849. I'm also hesitant about pens, I've been using their ballpoint version every day as my work and note taking pen for a year and I love it. It's machined alluminum and under 20 dollars I think. They also have a fountain pen version with a thicker body but I haven't used one.

As a machinist, I can confirm that Knurling is the proper term.
as a contrarian, i can repudiate. it is referred to as smurgurling.
i always thought it was spelled with a G

Knurling sounds like it should be a Norse word.
I thought it said masochist as first... i think im finally losing it
