I did this experience with my husband a few days ago and it was amazing! Kembay was our gatherer who lead the experience and he was a huge part of the experience. He was amazing and literally made us feel like we were creating a real life light saber. His passion and enthusiasm for this role was so memorable. We both teared up. It was worth every penny and we'll do it again.
I built mine in December and a few things I'd like to note: Yes book ahead if you can. I registered the day I was there and luckily got a spot. Take someone with you to record your building experience! I didn't know you could at the time. Yes $250 is a hefty price(270 total). Yes there are better technologically advanced sabers but the overall experience is still worth it, especially if it's your first time. I've done it once and don't plan to again unless something drastically happens. And last I noticed someone mentioned they felt rushed. If it's your first time building it can feel like it but I would recommend looking at the scrap metal display before entering to get a better idea of what pieces you'll want. Makes it easier so you're not scrambling too much trying to figure out what to choose at that exact moment. All in all great video, and may the force be with you all, always!
I just got to build a lightsaber a couple days ago. I loved the experience. A lot of guys were really interested in the saber walking around the park. They asked if i thought it was worth it, and my answer was, "not really, and i can't wait to do it again"...
Amazing for a 1st time experience. There should be more options though for customizing, I feel the options are very limited. If they are limiting you to a theme set, that set needs to have more variety of parts instead of just 2 or 3. I imagine having inventory and making things go smoothly requires limited amount of things. But all in all, they should definitely add new themes and bring more parts.
They should build an inquisitor lightsaber building experience for the dark side. It would potentially give more opportunities for visitors to get the chance to build a saber having 2 separate places to go
The sabers themselves aren't the best quality, but the experience was amazing. It'll definitely have you in your feels. I probably won't do it again, at least not for a while.
Your absolutely paying for the experience. I just did my first Saber build 2 weeks ago. It was easily one of the best experiences for a Star Wars fan. Don't get me wrong, the sabers are not the best but this was so much fun compared to ordering a Saber online and getting the same experience I get when I order something on Amazon but takes longer to receive.
Ehh sounds overrated what ever experience you feel there I can just play star was sound tracks and open up my neo pixel light saber and actually be impressed and awed by the saber itself not the show.
I liked the older designs. Elemental Nature's original look was awesome. The only build I like from the refresh is the new power and control. Kind of dissapointing they got rid of the Rancor tooth. I'd love to see them add other voices then Yoda. Depending on how many people choose the same crystal should determine what voices show up at the end. That would be awesome! At least they brought back the sleeves!
I have to say tho, I agree with most of this except the old peace and justice was kinda bad, and the new defense and protection it just an upgraded of the original
I really want to do this, but I'm disappointed by the lack of options, as well as how easily I can find far cooler lightsabers online. At that point, it feels I'd be paying far more for the experience, rather than the lightsabers themselves.
Having 1 meet and greet from both the dark side and jedi wouldn't cost Disney anything, but would add value to the $250 build. I would go as far to say to make it a "rare character" meet and greet. Like a Palpatine or Obi Wan.
I'm gonna be building my own lightsaber this Saturday. I'm going for Protection and Defense, because I like the slick design. I was thinking about doing Element and Nature instead because I really wanted a rancor tooth, but I was told it was swapped out for a bantha horn. The weird part of not wanting that, though, is I also got a Bantha Burger visor and shirt, and now plan on getting a jacket to complete the set. Need to find it, though.
I went to Batuu East on May the 4th and built my first lightsaber ever. I went with Protection and Defense for my hilt and purple as my kyber crystal. I absolutely believe the experience was worth it. Any true Star Wars fan NEEDS to experience this. That being said, I'm already hoping to make a second when I visit Batuu West for the first time next year! I'm thinking Power and Control for a more Sith style lightsaber! Thanks for the video!
My first time at Disney ever in my life was last summer. I made it my mission to at least go to Galaxy’s Edge. I managed to get my reservation day of while at the park. It was so fun and I even teared up during the experience of the build. Definitely recommend it. So much fun
The sabers are $220 to build at Disneyland as of 2023, a bit less than it is in Florida. I also think it's much easier to get a reservation on the west coast - it seemed very open for most of the day the 2 times I went this year. Considering the cost of a blade, carrying bag, and crystal from the shop, honestly $220 for a Savi's Workshop saber ends up being a great deal - and of course, the experience itself, and the personalized touches you get to incorporate to your saber, add even more value. I built my first earlier this year (Power & Control, same grips and switch as yours, but the other emitter and pommel... and a green crystal, which looks cool in the black and red hilt!) The experience for a SW fanatic is an absolute must if you've never done it, as you said. I think it's designed as a one-time experience, so for collectors and repeat customers, you just have to understand that... although I agree, there could easily be some tweaks that could play more to the dark side, or just freshen up the dialogue for the cast, while still being just as special for new builders.
Loved my saber building experience. While I plan to only build my 1 saber, I hope to go again a few times. Would be awesome to one day have my whole family build a saber and we all display them together!
I went there yesterday and wasn’t aware that I don’t get all 10 parts and you only get half. It was a overall good experience I tried to pull the black kyber crystal but wasn’t lucky. Overall it was a really fun experience but way too expensive now
I’ll tell you what, after owning a few legacy light sabers and a neo pixel Lightsaber there is something that is just so special about the Disney light sabers. Maybe it’s that they aren’t like $500 or it’s that the experience makes up for it because even if you just get a legacy light saber walking into Dom ondars is super immersive and you really do feel like you’re in the world of Star Wars versus Star Wars being in the world you are in. Also, they aren’t super light or have some of the cool features like smooth, swing or the ability to change colors without buying crystals or using an RFID reader to change the crystals, but for some reason, they don’t hurt my wrist as much as my Neo Pixel does and I think it comes down to when you’re holding a Disney saber you’re holding a hilt with a blade attached to it versus a neo Pixel where you’re holding a blade with a hilt attached to it. Almost feels like top heavy because the blade is still relatively light, but the hilt is really light. It all comes down to preference and if you would forgo the experience for some of the other features, I’m going to Disney on November 3 and I will 99% be bringing home either a Savi’s workshop light saber or a legacy light saber
Got to build mine today on my honeymoon! I ended up building with the power and control set with a Purple Kyber Crystal, but I also had to run up to Dok-Ondar's and get a Yellow Kyber Crystal too. I'm probably gonna head into downtown Disney at star wars trade post for one last Crystal before we leave.
heres a idea for how to use characters during the build , the color that is chosen the most during the build a character that uses that color lightsaber talks . Example there 10 people 6 build red 4 blue and green , then palpetine comes out and talks . that would be nice .
Built my saber like 3 weeks ago at the park and absolutely love the thing. I think people don't add the experience cost into it. Only cost 199$ when i went too
@@cosmicwarrior1857 Yes, as in compared to the price listed in the video. Which from that perspective, was less. Thus the only. Are you finding humer from an obtuse understanding or perspective?

The first time experience was great! Elemental nature purple crystal. I even let the force choose. I wanted either purple or red. If I ever go again, I’m getting the red crystal and making the sith version of my Jedi fallen order saber. Which is weird because I made my sith saber this time, just without the red crystal.
At least they could have one of their cast members stop in throughout the day…we went to Galaxy’s Edge for the first time a couple of weeks ago and I completely geeked out, I actually saw the movie when it came out in theaters so it took me back. We bought EVERYTHING! 😂
I just got back home from Galaxy’s Edge a few days ago from vacation and took my mom and dad in there with me to complete my collection from Savis. The two most recent ones I made were Peace and Justice and Protection and control. I absolutely love them.
I would say... it's a worth of building. I can agree that the Savi's workshop experience is something we all should try at least once. Besides all these defect, size, electronics. Especially the price. I built my 1st one as a new Power & Control on Feb 2nd. At first I was disappointed they replaced the old one because I was originally aimed for Vader-like saber. But now, this is definitely my favorite one. That one instant look, I can tell they improved a lot with the design. I felt this could be a good design for custom Sith/Darksaber style. But I had to search every videos to make sure which parts are perfect for me. And gladly, 'Finding the Force' channel's Power and Control caught my attention. Also Disneyland has reverted their savi price's $249.99 to $219.99, so I knew that was my chance. Without a doubt, the experience was amazing. Huge thanks to the cast members to allow me to use the different Kyber Crystal (White) during the ceremony to make it more special. Although there was small group on my reservation, so it was a bit anti-climatic. haha.. But that day, my Darksaber style project begin. (Which turned out good for 1st try.) I made a 2nd one as a Protection & Defense on the May the 4th. I was lucky to get in there. Originally I didn't plan to. But that P&D was.. gorgeous like Temple Guard. Since I couldn't join the Star Wars Nite, I added more meanings to honor the May the 4th. But due to the reservation glitch, I had two spots and I told them to cancel one for the others. Gladly it didn't gone to waste. I used my break time at Savi's workshop. And the way I see it since April 20th and May the 4th, many people still build their lightsabers besides the issues with the price point. Which is good to see and share the experience together. They still love it. But yeah... some additional experiences would be great. The only problem I have with this P&C is a packing and wall mount. As the cast members mentioned, the 4 spikes emitter does not fit to the savi bag. And 3rd party wall mount does not fit to the pommel thanks to the spikes. Cool.. but a bit of a design flaw lol
I was there a few months ago for the first time. Did the lightsaber build and the droid. Both were great experiences but for the price the lightsabers aren’t anything special compared to a neopixel saber but you pay for the experience
For the price efficient, yes it's not worth it. It's good as only the experience/sovenier. But the way I see it, people still get those no matter how the bad the sabers are.
I am from Germany and a big Star Wars Fan. We are going to galaxy’s edge in two weeks and I’m so excited. Since I knew that they build an Galaxy’s Edge I wanted to be there and build my own lightsaber.
I want to build another lightsaber. Maybe a Sith Saber this time. The first time I build mine, was in Feb 2020 and it was a great experience. Can’t wait to visit Batuu again.
I’m so hype, in a little less than a week me and some members from our high school band are going to California and Disney is one of our stops, I can’t wait to build a light saber! This is so damn exiting!
I was there last october. Wish I could have afforded the lightsaber. If nothing else, the experience would be worth it. I love star wars. Thanks for the review. Amazing the hole you can fall into on youtube.
It's a great experience and I'll always treasure my custom saber but everything at Di$ney is SO expensive I don't imagine I'd ever go back-even though I can easily drive there.
Thanks for your video! We're going to Disneyland Anaheim, we're signed up for the build at Savi's. It'll be me, my son and his son....Three generations building together! Can't wait! I'm going with the Peace and Justice discipline. Cheers!
I'm going in a couple weeks and I cannot wait to build my lightsaber (protection is what I'm leaning towards w/blue kyber crystal) and build my R2D2. Going to GE is a bucket list experience and life is too short. My friend and I are going and I'm so glad she can be there with me. I'm hoping we can get on at least 1 ride and meet Mando & Grogu 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
I just got back from Disneyland Galaxy edge. The experience is definitely a bucket list must. I built the same exact lightsaber you have in this video 😂.
Did it a couple of weeks ago. We were at Disneyland on a Monday and reservations were readily available thankfully, could have done it 10x in that day! Though it was hard enough getting 1 back to Australia... Agree with other people though that my only gripe was that it was very rushed. Especially with it not being busy that day.
Went to Disneyland a year ago..:and they were very limited on parts. So I cancelled my Savi’s appointment as did many others for the same reason. Now with the newer parts options and hopefully newer parts supply I plan to book at Batuu East hopefully in a few months (early 2024).
I went last week (built power and control, with blue crystal) and the experience was awful... they were clearly behind schedule, rushed through the script, apologized for miscues the whole time, gave us like 15 seconds to pick our parts. The shop is cool, Dok Ondors is cool, and hilt is heavy steel, but peices of it can have a cheap, plastic looking finish. You're not getting a $240 lightsaber, nor a $240 experience... But would i do it all over again? Yes. Because as a diehard fan I just had to do it, and the lightsaber appears to be super propriety and has some collector value.
Im there in October and still in two minds to do this or not. Im not a saber collector but do have Vaders in my collection. For me, its between doing this experience OR buying Luke's saber from the stores. I cant be doing both to be honest, thats alot of money, money that can go towards other merch I will surely get.
I totally agree with you but instead of just yoda they should do lines from the movies and tv shows that plays for each character they mention like darth sidious should say execute order 66 and for anakin skywalker he should say a line from the clone wars saying something to snips and ahsoka will say something to anakin sky guy it would make the experience even better in my opinion
With how expensive it is to even get into the park, it’s upsetting to see how prices keep going up. Probably never be able to afford to go to the park, much less get a lightsaber.
Did they raise the price back up again? I built one on May 2nd and the price was dropped to $219.99. I really like the new parts. Especially power and control.
My question on this is more on travelling. I'm flying in to Disney and making a saber while there. Do they come apart or would I need to travel with the complete made saber?
I love my light saver from galaxies edge, but they have got to add rechargeable batteries. I won’t buy another light saber that takes AA batteries. I will put all new batteries in my Savi light saber and then pick it up a month later without ever having turn it on, and the batteries will be dead. That is absolutely infuriating to me.
I was at Disney World a week ago and made the mistake of assuming I could just walk up to Savi's in the morning and book an appointment. There were no openings until after 8PM! Fortunately I was able to come back later that night, though I was originally going to do it with my wife as a guest and I had to go back alone. 😬
I'd love to do all of the galaxies edge things but I'd have to fly over from canada, and have all the money saved up, and now I find out reservations are a thing hahah don't know how thats gonna work out but on the day I go hopefully everything will be able to be sorted out in terms of reservations and stuff hahah
I'm going from australia in October this year, I just had a gander at the prices. For me to do a lightsaber and a droid its around $450AUD. Plus you need a booking and can only book up to 60 days in advance. Ngl but I'm a bit worried ill miss the booking and miss out
Was that older lightsaber thinner? Or shorter? It just looks smaller than the last one you made. Also with the new scrap coming in does that mean that they don’t have any of the old scrap at all anymore? Like say I wanted the horn for my pommel does this mean I’m just out of luck and can’t ever get that piece again outside the secondary market?
Going in October. Was going with Peace & Justice, but I'm not so thrilled about the look of the new Peace & Justice parts. Not sure which one I will pick now.
I'm planning on going this July since I'm going to Disney world. Hopefully there's an opening cause I'd rather just go to the place and see if there's an opening rather than do it online because if something happens where we don't get it, then yea. If I do get in, I'm probably gonna go for power and control. Although, Some people have said that the 4 Spike emitter doesn't fit into the bag but Honestly, I don't really mind. but it also kinda depends on what works with what
I think Sith and Jedi build’s should be separate from each other as yoda wouldn’t be helping revan build..I guess you cover that farther in the video but I’m saying not just voice, one place is strictly Sith
I'm not sure if I'll ever get to Galaxy's Edge because my family aren't the richest people but tomorrow though I am going to grab a new Peace and Justice lightsaber to connect with my old Peace and Justice lightsaber to become double bladed. I will thoroughly enjoy using it.😁😁
I built a saber in early 2020, right before lockdown. Experience was definitely worth it, but the quality of the saber is not very good. I barely use mine, mostly just to turn it on and show off to friends, and it’s broken. It won’t turn on anymore, even with new batteries and different crystals. I even tried a different blade.
I agree the saber is definitely not high quality. Its a nice show piece but its really the experience that makes it fun. Check out what TheTBull8 said. You might be able to get replacement parts to help you out.
Hello there. Hope someone will respond with an answer to my below concern. I recently acquired the Galaxy's edge Rey Lightsaber Hilt and a 36" blade. When I turn on the blade I'm actually able to see a what I'm going to call a ladder effect of each LED inside the tube from the bottom to the top. Is this normal? I own two 2005 Master Replica lightsabers and you are unable to distinguish this LED ladder effect as the entire blade is a solid glowing color in which you can't distinguish were each individual LED is.
So how does booking it work? I mean what if I am planning to be in say Florida for a week and purchased a 2 day pass at best, I'd imagine it would be nearly impossible to get in at that point since it is pretty much luck of the draw right? I'd figure Disney would see how much money they are making and at least add a secondary workshop or expand the existing one to accommodate more people.
If you know you want to go, just book it now. Buy a ticket, and make the reservation for Hollywood Studios. Then make the reservation for Savis. I think you can reserve 60 days in advance.
Neopixel is just the name of the blade or lighting name so when some one ask what’s the difference between proffie and neopixel it’s the same or all in one you want to look at the difference between sound boards that offer different neopixel effects
Thank you! Check out what cooach said. I would be happy to make a video comparing different types of Neopixel boards if that is what you are looking for.
No. They need to upgrade their core. The things makes noise when stationary and does nothing when you swing it. Spend that $250 at Crimson Dawn or Imperial workshop and get a decent neopixel core saber. I avoid Padawan outpost because I dislike their customer service.

(Which turned out good for 1st try.)
I made a 2nd one as a Protection & Defense on the May the 4th.
For the raised price they should include 1 of the new display stands and 1 kyber crystal holder
That would be cool if they did
I am from Germany and a big Star Wars Fan.
Thank you! I’m going to Disney this year and I’ll be going to galaxy’s edge for sure! Love the set up you have! Happy new year!
It's a great experience and I'll always treasure my custom saber but everything at Di$ney is SO expensive I don't imagine I'd ever go back-even though I can easily drive there.
This is one of my bucket list items; your suggestions for improving Savi's Workshop sound a little like I'd suggest 'em.
Where did you get that light saber stand? it looks really cool :)
Do they have any legends character stuff like Malgus or is it strictly the movies?
I asked the gatherer host if they side hustled as a wedding officiate 😆
lol
I just got back from Disneyland Galaxy edge. The experience is definitely a bucket list must. I built the same exact lightsaber you have in this video 😂.
A nice addition that could be added to the show is if deppending on how many red crystals are there you could hear sidious or maul
The stand is avaliable in both places now i was there on the 4th and the 8th
Going to Galaxy’s Edge on October 11th. I’m thinking of going for the power build, not sure what color i want yet.
I just came from building a lightsaber and a droid on my first ever trip to Disney and I enjoyed it can’t wait to go again
Im there in October and still in two minds to do this or not. Im not a saber collector but do have Vaders in my collection. For me, its between doing this experience OR buying Luke's saber from the stores. I cant be doing both to be honest, thats alot of money, money that can go towards other merch I will surely get.
My experience was awesome but you right they should change up the lines and acting for the experience
Going to Disneyland this November, building my 2nd lightsaber, this time going for power and control.
Disneyland is still 219.99. They kinda reverted back like this since few months ago.
I made a 2nd one on May the 4th and the price was still the same.
Been to Galaxy Edge. Can’t wait to build a lightsaber.
Imagine you can build your own custom dark saber that would be so rad
I think it would be great if they had a separate workshop dedicated to the Sith.
I’m thinking of doing this Next Week, I will probably do it after this video.
This is perfect. Def going w my son one of these days. Thanks
Awesome! You will enjoy it. Have a fun!
I was at Disney World a week ago and made the mistake of assuming I could just walk up to Savi's in the morning and book an appointment. There were no openings until after 8PM! Fortunately I was able to come back later that night, though I was originally going to do it with my wife as a guest and I had to go back alone. 😬
i scheduled my upcoming build for 7pm so i dont have to carry it around or store it somewhere and it will be nightfall so it will look great.
So far I've been to Galaxy's Edge twice at Disneyland but love to go to the Disney World in the future, great video 👍 😎
$250?! Wow, that is expensive considering what you can buy online. Disney could do better, they could be cheaper or have better lightsaber components.
I'd love to do all of the galaxies edge things but I'd have to fly over from canada, and have all the money saved up, and now I find out reservations are a thing hahah don't know how thats gonna work out but on the day I go hopefully everything will be able to be sorted out in terms of reservations and stuff hahah
My first saber would be an elemental natured purple blade
They should have 2 characters, because man... hearing Yoda is just awesome! Should be yoda then a random dice character!
I'm going from australia in October this year, I just had a gander at the prices. For me to do a lightsaber and a droid its around $450AUD. Plus you need a booking and can only book up to 60 days in advance. Ngl but I'm a bit worried ill miss the booking and miss out
Is it still open?
I feel like it would be cool if the kyber crystals had different sound effects than the ones they already have
Keep up the good work😊
Thank you!
Not sure which one I will pick now.
which one did you go with?
If you're willing to sacrifice the experience for quality I'd highly recommend looking into vire sabers.
I'm planning on going this July since I'm going to Disney world. Hopefully there's an opening cause I'd rather just go to the place and see if there's an opening rather than do it online because if something happens where we don't get it, then yea. If I do get in, I'm probably gonna go for power and control. Although, Some people have said that the 4 Spike emitter doesn't fit into the bag but Honestly, I don't really mind. but it also kinda depends on what works with what
Do you know what you’re doing? Do you know that by going to this place, you’re disrespecting the original person who created Star Wars?
I agree with your assessment of Force Ghosts. If you’re paying an extra $50, there better be a good reason!
#doit
Love this channel thanks for the info
Not that it matters too much but i built one the other night at disneyland and it was $215
$237 after tax
I remember the good old days when if you wanted a lightsaber you had to go building out of garbage that you found
I’m going today can’t wait
I think Sith and Jedi build’s should be separate from each other as yoda wouldn’t be helping revan build..I guess you cover that farther in the video but I’m saying not just voice, one place is strictly Sith
That's actually a really good idea. Two separate experiences would be kind of awesome
I'm not sure if I'll ever get to Galaxy's Edge because my family aren't the richest people but tomorrow though I am going to grab a new Peace and Justice lightsaber to connect with my old Peace and Justice lightsaber to become double bladed. I will thoroughly enjoy using it.😁😁
Badass Jedi Master Liam. I hope you can make it to the park some day!
Is the carrying case/sling bag included?
I built a saber in early 2020, right before lockdown. Experience was definitely worth it, but the quality of the saber is not very good. I barely use mine, mostly just to turn it on and show off to friends, and it’s broken. It won’t turn on anymore, even with new batteries and different crystals. I even tried a different blade.
reach out to customer support. They will send you replacement parts
I agree the saber is definitely not high quality. Its a nice show piece but its really the experience that makes it fun. Check out what TheTBull8 said. You might be able to get replacement parts to help you out.
I’ve had a few Graflex tubes
I just build my own neopixel sabers from parts on etsy.
That’s so cool that they sell a cupler now! Where did you buy yours at?
Yea its pretty awesome! They sell the coupler right at Savi's. Its in the same spot that you pay for your build at.
In Disneyland - Both Dok Ondar and Savi's sell those since May the 4th.
hes always really helpful with information. can you make a video about which is better? neopixle or proffie? (you could just reply too lol)
@@HyperdriveStarWars Thank you very much!
Is the coupler sold at Galaxy's edge? I want to turn my lightsaber into double bladed
It is sold at Galaxy’s edge
How long before do I have to reserve a workshop?
I agree i would like to hear obi wan talking
Are you able to choose from any of the disciplines while building, or do you have to build from the one specific discipline?
You choose one of the four disciplines when you check in (before going inside). When you get inside, they only give you the parts for that discipline.
I'm going for my first time June 14th. And I'm going with the Darkside. hehehe
They need to get huyang teaching you how to build a lightsaber.
Are you able to do it at Disney land California or just Disney world
No. They need to upgrade their core. The things makes noise when stationary and does nothing when you swing it. Spend that $250 at Crimson Dawn or Imperial workshop and get a decent neopixel core saber. I avoid Padawan outpost because I dislike their customer service.
We've been saying that. But the way I see it, updating their core is not gonna happen anytime soon.. or never.
@@ark7204 frustrating.
My Mom and I want to take a vacation in two years and I want a Disney vacation since I have been wanting to go to Disney world as a child
I built it with my daughter that alone trumps anything any other company can do
Hold up SIXTH?! I haven’t even done my first yet😭
